    Hi Kcr

I appreciate it is swivel to remove cranks etc, but I am just one of those people that puts everything in a specific box. I recognise it was a solution to others to do as you suggest, but I just wanted to give my son the best I can. It’s hard enough to get him to enjoy new things, so I like to remove any obstacles to that goal. Besides, it is a great fun project too 😀

with autistic children the issue is over stimulation, and it takes a while for them to get to cope with learning about pedalling, steering, balancing etc.

I think there is a significant gap in the market, but thankfully there aren’t that many autistic children out there to warrant a large balance bike being grout to the market, but who knows…

    Cheers Ron!

Flippinheckler, drop me a line. I’m about to get seriously involved at my son’s school as a fund raiser, as he has just moved schools and will be in a special needs school in September.

Anything I can do will help in passing on the good deeds will make me happy ( for want of a long drawn out explanation for the commitment and extra the staff in these schools put in).

I want to try and organise an annual off road sportive down here at the start of The SDW ( Winchester). So many bridleways it seems rude not to.

    Never seen it.

I’ll post up more as it happens, just in case I can help any other families out there with this…

    Plus, Mick deserves the publicity

Once it’s built I’ll let you know how it rides, but from what I’ve read, it will be great fun 😀

Not or a Krampus, nope. Ah, 485….my mistake.

It has a few siblings, in Devon & Dorset.

The fork was a Max upper, Rock Shox air damper (so I can make it just for big hits as the Knards will do the rest) and 110 lowers. With 2 spacers to make it a 90mm fork. Axle to crown 685(ish). Project321 steerer and clamps to 1 1/8th.

Tony at Thumbprint built the fork and s willing to do it again

Charlie the Bike Mongerist supplied the build kit and might be persuaded to bring another Surly into the world… 😉

Project321 are in the USA, but are amongst the most helpful people I have ever come across.

    Building as 1×9.

I have 40GB of music files. It will take me a fair amount of time to do it manually

Hmmm interesting. Anyone got an old bump stop, the rubber tube one hanging about?

I have been using the Genius playlist function, but it seems flawed.

perhaps it is a case of just spending a fair amount of time making playlists manually

I just had a play on freespoke which is a US tool used by Fat Bike wheel builders. It seems that the wheel would fit in standard guise….just with a 1mm(ish gap to the stanchion, so a -5 offset it does indeed remove the dishing of the wheel created by the lefty hub. This feels like voodoo going my way right now….

    Yep, you got it.

Have a secret weapon of some special clamps to allow me to re-set the fork to centre.

What ever you say, this will be a FUN bike, not an easy bike to build or ride

    😀

Made it! Drove the 12hrs from Raleigh. Slept on the floor of check in, as Virgin had no staff there for a while, then slept on the plane home.

    Still knackered

I couldn’t care less, but its very amusing winding you up.

Have you nothing better to do than be unpleasant? Is that why you are home alone? Why else would you pop on to this thread and pathetically call people names.

    Wow, what a fulfilling life!

It’s also about other factors…stress, depression, anxiety…all triggers for eating for some of us.

What gets me is that I hate rubbish food… But I travel a lot. Show me where you can get away from cheap nasty food!

I don’t crave cheese of sugar…of burgers or pizza or any other stuff, but on a normal motorway services it’s all the choice your given.

I choose to wait until I get home or wait until I’m near a supermarket, but surely healthier food could be offered????

I am 17 stone or more. I ride at least 100 kilometers every week on lovely trails, but I love food. I don’t drink or smoke. Like Gary, I eat healthy food.

I constantly feel under threat due to opinionated, rude and ill informed numpties like Xiphon. I am happy you feel so secure in your existence.

For anybody else that took offence by his ridiculous statements, if like me you know what you want to achieve and it’s hard, my message is this

Not being slim does not make us bad people.

Xiphon, I don’t wish you anything but happiness, but I do hope you wake up to the fact that we are all different and whilst you are entitled to your opinions, I call you what you are:
