depends where you go, plus at this time of year it’s a total mud fest!

commute is unlikely, but I will try in the summer, its 50 miles each way (motorway) so maybe less on As and Bs.

I am just looking out of my window at this rain that has not stopped all week, and know as soon as I put tyre to trail, I’ll sink into it up to my handlebars! Does’nt matter if it’s a singlespeed or not, still no fun.

I have obviously got winter riding blues….Bring back the Frosts!

check your chainline. Each bike design is different. You may need to change the spacer on the bottom bracket to a thinner one, or more, if the shell is 73mm you should use one, but if the chainline is shonky, you might need to play with this (all assuming you have an external BB)

You could try adding mre tension to the chain? either the rear mech tensioner or removing links ( making sure you have enough chain for all rings.)

    KMC chain 9SL is great!

my m4s squeal when cold, and I also found swisstops really noisey all the time, but Hope Sintered are fine once warmed up. Maybe use some silicon spray (buy it from engineering supplies, also CRC sells Stendec version) on the pistons once cleaned to stop them sticking and make sure the caliper is centred properly. Are they bled properly? Are you using Post mount or IS mount? IS mounts can be bad news unles you face the mounting points properly. A good LBS should carry kit to do that.
