Piracy of software in general is big business, and not done by greasy hackers in their bedrooms anymore. This is a business more profitable than selling drugs, and funds organised crime.

As their only costs are whats in the box, it isn't hard to see why they do it.

I just wish the general public would use a little common sense when making a purchase. If it seems to be too good to be true, IT IS! If you buy it, you're helping the unsavouries become richer and able to do more, and their methods are no less cruel than you see in any of Guy Richies movies.

It isn't cool or clever to buy a pirate copy.

The forks work Great! The axel crown length is shorter than a set of pikes (just!) and the knock down to 100mm is great for slugging it out up a steep hill. I got the QR versions, but in retrospect I would have bought bolt thru if these hadn't been on offer on the Pace sight.

I suppose it's down to your dawg! When Edison was a pup,

he got a real sh1te through a straw thing going for a while on Royal Canin. Vet put him on Science Plan and he started doing bricks almost instantly.

Some make them fart, some make them hyper!

I know one labrador that has been prescribed Chappie, the cheapest of the lot, purely due to having a weak digestive system.

    Ho hum,

Just so long as I can scoop it up in a bag and leave it on a branch for the next biker, you know, head height when they're really committed on a blind bend

I was running a 1×9 which was 'borrowed from another bike, so I didn't fancy cutting down the cable.

The Hopes were new, and I had just placed them on the bike. Shorter now. And 1×1.

Sorry to offend your aesthetics 😕

I have an old etrex ( it has a an RS232 serial port cable, with a usb concerter cable…nobody said this had to be pretty…

It works fine with PC. NOT Mac compatible due to USB bus issues in the Mac. I use Memory Map to store and create routes. The Etrex has a waypoint limit, so you need to be frugal with your points on the route, but other than that my only issue is:

It uses my bearing to calculate which direction it is pointing. This is fine once you are on the move, but if you start at an unknown location, and rely on the GPS, you can head off in the completely wrong direction.

Also, I'm now considering the purchase of a HRM, and it seems prudent to combine the 2. Edge 705 me thinks, when I'm feeling rich…

Pro IIs – one bearing change and one freehub after 3 years service (cracked freehub body on Skyline when attempting to flee the edge of the quarry…vertigo kicked in 8O). Love the hubs and the noise, great for warning ramblers

Mavic SLRs – New rear wheel after 11 monts service due to freehub body disintegration

CKs 20mm front and ISO rear – took a while to get used to the humming of the angry bees, but faultless and Mango.hmmmmmmmm

I've got the 3l RN Outback Auto, it's been totally fantastic in the current weather. No low range, but tiptronic and first gear got me down some nasty tracks in the snow! Very capable. Yet to get stuck! Great space and well buit, just very thirsty

My brother went from being a type 2 to a type 1 at roughly the same age, and now has to administer insulin. Interestingly enough, the exertion of mtb'ing usually means the insulin pen stays in its pouch. Just get hold of a decent blood sugar monitor and you'll be all good!

I put 150mm DT Swiss EXCs on, which have the added advantage of weighing almost nothing, and at a push of the adjust drop by 100mm and go rigid for climbing, which makes them the best forks for singlespeed climbing!

Oh and the axle to crown is shorter than Pikes, so the bike feels great at full travel even when climbing

there was a study about 15 years ago stating that if the Hudson did not thaw, then the northern hemisphere would be in a new iceage within 5 years. The cause of this would be too much fresh water (polar ice melt) that would pivot the change. This would reduce flow of Mississipi and alter the flow pattern in the gulf of Mexico, which in turn would shut off the supply of warm surface water to the gulf stream, changing the UK climate to something more continental at our Lattitude. Ooops More snow! Glaciers down to Watford, and the Channel would be a trickle of a stream running out the the Atlantic, now beyond the French Coast.

    Don't you just love hypotheticals.

Got the one a bit bigger, although ordered the 600, it is MAASSSSIVE!

You need 2 to put it up, and I could park a car in it. Also lasted really well in Glencorwg 'summer' aventure a couple of years ago. A great event tent. Bought it as an awning to a camper…which is still on the wish list…

Not on Junction 2 of the M3, where they seem to have decided to make them a permanent feature, as a 50 limit to control merging traffic coming off the M25.

I have been wondering if they have been using fixed distance, or is each camera recording a speed? Their description of Average speed would still be true, but would mean all those numpties racing through the road works and then suddenly braking for the cameras might be having the last laugh.

I'm just happy to pootle along in cruise…my licenses is not worth risking!

    Thanks everyone for your answers!!!

I dug out the November 2008 Singletrack which had Mr Hart's version of how to use a turbo. I tried the 1 leg circles thing, and only managed 4 repetitions! It really hurt 😳 going over the top on each stroke, but my pedalling really improved as a result. I'll check out HRMs on the basis it will help me get the most out of myself.

Afan is a long way to go for the first time though…

Why not try Quantocks, as its easy to navigate (what goes down has to go back on the ridge) and the views can be amazing!

Or CymCarn? Hefty technical climb, but not too technical, followed by some cracking secions back to the car ( if it has to be South Wales)

There was something on BBC news today going on about Canadian Tar sand extraction, and how the COOP has created £10M budget to campaign for greener ethical investment marketing.!!!!!

I am gobsmacked at the ineptitude of this. Heres a simple idea, if you want to stop (apparently anthropogenic) global warming in regards to fossil fuels, support the research into alternatives.

Don't just spend money on words no-one listens to apart from the COOP shareholders!

    AARRGGHhhhhhhhh!
