It's alright for you lot up north n stuff, but spare a thought for us southerners, with more gloopy mud and clag and stuff to bind your bike to the surface. This is the time of year you have to pedal down hill. ITS NOT RIGHT!

But I have seen snow drops, and dafs are coming.

Wished I lived in the hilly north, where the rock just gets wet, not 'sink to your hubs' muddy

    I have a Blur LT2 L, with a 70mm stem. It is perfect for me, at 6ft,

I imagine you'll want more reach on the XC, so I would go up a size. Failing that, call jungle?

Use photo bucket instead, and make the photos private. Also, seems to link better to this site and isn't owned by BT

Would that mean you would be available on the 21st, and could teach a few of us the black magic art of raising wheels higher than half an inch off the deck?

OK, so in order we have:

    Quantocks March 20/21st

Exmoor 1st week in April (avoiding all the yellow rubber ducks floating around the streams that time of year)

    Purbecks April

Swinley? I am up for helping out, CG, name the weekend.

    Did I miss anything there?
Would be good to get a god turn out to all of these.

Could be up for this. Would be fin to meet stw members. Gainfully employed so don't know if that counts me out?

2nd the Microlite. Ours went all over the Lake district ( and I mean all over) and has not broken down once! Been in aeroplanes, buses taxi's and even Bulgaria!

Stands on its own when folded, light and just does the job.

Just to ease your mind, Santa Cruz frames don't get their bearing seats to line up, because that's not how it works. You have to use the proper bearing glue, and use an alignment tool specific to the bike. Hence why so many bearing sets fail quickly if the bearings are incorrectly seated.

So why not use the same technique on this frame. Use the loctite (specific stuff, not threadlock) and forego the jumping up and down on the fram.

    Worth a go…

What I love about these arguments, is the fact that everyone falls back upon physics and mathematics to wave fingers at what seems illogical.

Don't forget we are learning everyday, and Maths and Physics are in no way consolidated and defined. So throw your own logic away, and anything becomes possible, which inevitably leads me to conclude there must be millions variations of life out there and some should be able to pay us a visit. Should they? Would we be of interest?

Why do we spend billions on finding bacteria on Mars? Same thing really….

Is this where I admit that the first page I check out in MBUK is Mint?

If Mint were to hang up his Pace/Cotic bike…how would you release the need to share your views on our sport JoB?

Is there another side of JoB that could be nudged in the STW direction?

Pjay, is this as an individual or a company?

If you need help, why not talk to their reseller network, a couple of examples would be Softcat and Bytes, both have Software Asset Management teams to answer such issues for corporate customers…

so there we have it, SFB. You actually enjoy the things a fair number of us all enjoy about our lifestyle choice (can't diminish it to hobby), but you're more of an umami than a menthol kind of chap eh?

    Fair do's.

Now you've been nudged, maybe the sheep and his crew will grow on you…….

SFB I agree with you on this, which is why I'm miffed my response to your logic was placed at the base of page 3!

sfb: but "Mother Nature" isn't about attraction but fecundity, which doesn't relate to beauty at all.

Unrelated to Mint, but surely nature is beautiful, although through happy accident, or maybe because of our longterm exposure to her. Ooo er!

Maybe this all stems from the fact that you live and ride in the heartland of off road cycling, and your mundane is an escape for others. Maybe you are so in tune to your cycling world, and the absolute, harsh and astounding nature of nature, that observations generically rendered through the medium of a wooly mammal with very wiry limbs present themselves as the straw that fell onto the camels back, after that particular mammal, with a very grumpy demeanour, had already collapsed under the weight of the previous length of sun dried grass?

I have been having similar thoughts, especially the one about the gnarly down hill, and waiting for the uplift…that was class art!

My favourite of all time is this. I had the sticker of mint and the revolver on my '96 P7.

The words you see scribbled, are usually lyrics. I actually like the bitter sweet sentiment, and I can't count the number of times riding buddies have suddenly realised their freedom pass is about to expire and they have to amble back to the car and check back in with reality.

But the cartoon is not anti family or anti anything, it just seems to capture our sport perfectly. Especially if you know the South Downs Way on a windless summers day.

To make portable or ps3 friendly versions I use handbrake and vlc.

They go together. Make sure if your pc is 32 or 64 bit anddownloas the right version

Respect due to JoB for having the skill to capture what mucking about on bikes, stopping for long enough to get smacked in the face by the beauty of where you're effort has got you, and how it brings a smile to your face as soon as the 'can't be ar£3d' gremlins have been squashed back into the box they came out of.

I have to know… Is summer based on a real person you know?

+ 1 for the reprint of the anniversary poster without the creases!

I a with BT and just got bushwhacked for a 12 month contract, as they measure usage, not download and my son likes Cbeebies games, and this has cost me quite a bit in penalty charges (£1 per Gb over my limit per month) and they very nicely had sent me an email to my bt email account I don't actually use.

    I love them

I am in middle management, and I can't comment upon the size of my appendage, as I don't spend any time checking out anyone else's!

I tend to drive with respect for other road users and am a believer in the Karma bank, so it isn't up to me to avenge any rubbish driving.

But then I have never owned a BMW

pull the plastic bit out (where the lock is) and turn it anti clockwise, as it has a flimsy steel square rod that turns a worm thread on the actual clamp.

    Hope that helps

I second the plea for the defection of Mint to the magazine that holds true to the sentiment of The Sauce!

Who do we have to convince? Should we set up a petition?

Why can't we just all get along? Why does such aggression and tension have to exist on the daily commute, just because 'we' are inside little tin cans designed to rip ridiculous amounts of money out of our pockets for the benefit of others, just to show who has more money then who?

I'm getting increasingly bored with the rat race! What is the point?

So what news on The Book?

I loved the recent one where the UST milk coats everyone as Mint waits for the tyre to seal. Reminds me of an incident on the Bucks 100 a couple of years ago…..and why I still use tubes
