we hired a local hall and a magician, and it went down a storm! Everyone loved it. I have no idea where you’re from, but happy to pass the details if you’re interested.

thermarest, and you can clip 2 together to make the double. That’s my plan (same issue with (better)half).

I was between the ages of 16 and 23, when I briefly forgot about the simple joys of riding bikes, so I had 0, none, nada.

Since then I have had at least 2, so I can’t be of much help, sorry

I thought I saw some or other news bulletin saying forestry ops will be in Crowthorne, mulching the firewood, ready for planting new loo roll trees. If they are busy by then, I doubt any trails left that side of the road 🙁

I was going to try and get as many fun bits into an xc ride in a few hours. twister, tank traps cork screw labyrinth (or lose the will to live and convince yourself you are being chased by a scary monster ( at night obviously)). It all rather depends on mud tolerance of my group.

Either way, it will be fun. Shall indeed be armed with varied cakes and coffee

it happens, but they just sit in the shed for a short while, and then I drag myself outside and into the mud, and as soon as I get started I’m back in the swing. Motivation for the local trails is always really low, but then they are wet, slippery and straight, with the added bonus of barbed wire and nettles.

Got to love the South Downs!

    2 main choices

    Bontrager Mud x: excellent tyre
    Panaracer Trailraker

If you is fit 😉 you could get away with the thinner ones, but personally would choose the 2.0 Mud x on the back.

For the front, I’d use a tyre like a nevegal or a minion (2.35 folding, as the other variants are very heavy)

a friends pregnant wife was threatened by one, saying, I know where you are, I will be round your house in 5 mins unless you agree to my services.

I wish more could be done to stop them

    Uplink,

That was a useful link (no pun intended there..) but it doesn’t give me the answer, just how much I will need to pay for next years tax based upon the fact I now own yet another horseless carriage that dares to exist within the confines of the British Isles.

    So the question still stands….

Yes, its your local and district councils that are responsible for permissive routes, and their maps are in no standardized format. My next question would be why?

All of the permissives in my area are straight and lack any features of worth

did they prep the bike for you?
Have you de-greased the chain from the protective stuff it is packed with, out of the bag. If not, its just a claggy mess of mud and really sticky grease, so no wonder it sucks!

we have planted quite a few tress (usually fruit trees over them, where they’re buried) and it feels strangely comforting seeing them blossom in the Spring and adding a permanent memorial to a family member never forgotten, and always loved.

    erm…they just have.

John Cleese voice over and some of the characters have new voices too. Left my son to it and went upstairs to ponder the reason why, so they might not have changed the blustery day bit, and I don’t know if their addition of the beaver has been rectified…<sob>

so now he’ll be arrested on suspicion of sexual harassment for parading a tiny fluffy pussy around the office and asking strange women out for a ride!

183 is based upon needing 183s, as I have 2 bikes with 183’s.

AndyRT – are suggesting he may be autistic?

No, just checking. I remember having no real perception of there being anything ‘wrong’ with my son, and then having a child minder having a very similar conversation with me as described here.

One size doesn’t fit all, and 1yrs old is way too young to know, but the thread just reminded me.

BTW, my son is Autisitc, and I suppose I now am guilty of spotting traits in ‘normal’ people on the spectrum.

Maybe we all are, just a little 😉

    +1 Joolsburger

Worst case scenario is she screams, runs away and calls the Police, and you get escorted from the building carrying one of those cardboard boxes made for such events, with just a stapler and that sad looking spider plant you have been keeping on the edge of death for the last 3 years that was perched on the edge of your desk. You spend the rest of your life wondering how you ended up working in a leisure center as a receptionist, never being quite able to adequately explain away the sexual harassment case brought against you to all of your failed attempts to pull yourself back onto the corporate career path you had thrown away. The last twisted irony being that this apparent goddess has a Spin class every Tuesday evening in the very same leisure center for the next twenty years and never makes eye contact or even says hello, and you eventually retire alone, miserable and muttering about how you rued the day you ever logged on to Singletrack.

Thanks. I suppose my real question is:

Are all calipers set at the same depth, as in the post mount vs the piston and brake pad contact to disk depth. If you get what I mean
