    Where are you based?

it’ll be in the spring OG08

no frost, and warm(ish) night, so the arthritis would be kept at bay 😉

    Good plan!

Do you want to provide the route, once we get there? I suppose we’d need a campsite etc.

That’s a little arbitrary. How do we know what your reference scale is based upon? Have you created a zero and maximum value anchored to SI standards?

I’d be keen to tag along. Just North of Newport. If you read Bike magazine, October issue has a bit on a Welsh road. I guided the author that day. There are some beautiful bits of road and scenery near me. I can put a rough route together if people want it?

Back to tbe point, let’s aim for the 29th or 30th of October. If it’s a nasty day, we’ll bail.

Right now it seems we should have a bimble on the welsh Borders, meeting somewhere nr Brizzole?

Obviously we will need mirror smooth hard top for the Tuono, and many petrol stations 😉

It would be good to meet somewhere with the following:

Sheep free twisty bits. A proper char stop, limited radar

I’ve yet to put liners back in my goretex suit, so it might be possible to get a ride in before we enter winter

    Sounds like an interesting option

Let’s see how many are up for a welsh adventure…

    That’s a lovely guzzi.

I don’t think this will be the last attempt at a meet. We should plan for the spring too

No decision made on a route yet. Seems like we are all spread out a bit. We could just chose a destination, meet up, bumble and then split.

    Any suggestions

So, we could go in a welsh direction. Could meet by the bridge. Anyone got a good route?

So far we have a trio of Italian bikes.

    Any others?

My assumption would be that it will affect your cost of insurance, and your cover will be invalidated if they find out you have exceeded it. Did you quote your mileage?

I know, but night riding flattens features, hence why people (me included) supplement bar lights with head torch etc

    try 2700!

I currently have a poultry 720 on the bars and 220 on my noggin, and I am bemused that when in tight and twisty quick stuff (like deer stalker) I am having to slow down or guess whats ahead.

Hence going for a Troutie, and I’m not convinced my Exposure lights make the most of what they’ve got.

    Don’t you dare Trout!

You and designers like you are what keep whats left of this country ticking. The great tradition of men in sheds have changed the world more than once in the past!

Besides, I suspect that your products will have different customers to the DX stuff. Those that buy DX etc, do so because they are either dipping their toe in the night riding scene, or they simply cant justify the cost.

There are quite a few STWers out there with very posh unobtanium bikes, will happily pay the prices you charge because of a few reasons:

    1. You design and invent with biking in mind.
    2. You are a highly skilled/motivated manufacturer/designer of bespoke wonder goods
    3. After the sale, there is always room from upgrades and tinkering

Mass produced vs bespoke just is not an argument or an issue. Both survive, both face similar challenges, but deal with them in different ways.

C’mon Chaps! Take a look at Chaucerian English eh?

Surely we can just learn to live with change. It’s not as though our great cobbled together language will suddenly leap forward and become incomprehensible to us oily masses?!!

Change is good…embrace change….feel the spirit of change

or bury you head in a Queens English grammar book from 1952 😯

Motorbikes and cars have high tolerances in design. The cylinders have an etched or scored surface when put together so the piston rings seat to the bore. If you are gentle it might not happen. There are arguments that seem to make sense either way, but I’d say Drive as normal, not cautious or slow, just normal, using full rev range. No better way to bed it in.

Big Skies, mud, silence, adrenalin rush, heart pounding uphills, scary eyes in the darkness night riding, dust, views, scenery, camaraderie, gadgets, shiny shiny parts, boingy bits, twisty bits. Never growing up, but most of all, stopping on a ride, and realizing all of the above still does it for me.

That would seem to me to need adjustment on the cable. It’s engaging the gear, so back off the cable. Obviously be wary of making it too slack, and then getting slippage.

Seems like you might need to take those fairings off again.
