This is exactly why the establishment are so scared of Branson – he proved dodgy dealings with the lottery, has now shaken up this shady rail tender and has started to get into the finance sector, no wonder they’re worried.

I used 3mm from B&Q – good tight fit onto the syringe and the bleed nipple.

I’ve got no problem with this whatsoever. In fact I have no issue with ANYTHING that happens to a burglar.

If you choose to break the laws of the country, you cannot then expect the same judicial system to offer you any protection.

As has been said, cause & effect. If the burglar hadn’t made the conscious decision to break the law and enter somewhere illegally, they wouldn’t be in a situation to be shot by the homeowner. Simple.

Will take a peek this weekend – my GXP BB is about dead but luckily my mate works for a bearing supplier so will mic the bearings up accurately and post up the equivalent (i.e. sensible priced without “special bearings for gullible mountain bikers” tags) spec.

Most bearings when sold as a single unit have anything up to 900% markup, hence singles on ebay appearing cheap relative to the identical ones in a bike shop which come in a bag with a card topper.

Got a handful of DU bushes the other week to do my shock and have some spares. Asked my mate how much I owed (bear in mind DU bushes normally cost up to a fiver) – “mate it will cost me more to raise the invoice than what these are worth”.

Moral of the story – get to know your local bearing supplier!

Nukeproofs without a shadow of a doubt – have used 661 and Fox Launch, the Nukeproofs are by far the best.

Rubber grippers mean you don’t need to crank up the straps too tight, nice and secure, not too hot either.

I think the smart trick is to have 4 or 5 different ride routes home. I have several, all of which include technical and twisty bits so I could shake anyone off who is following me on a bike.

And if you live a little bit further from AC, it makes sense to drive and park somewhere away from AC, then vary your route back to the car each time………
