shouldn't be too much of a shock to the system. 27 years of doing little work (other than distributing red elastic bands around the streets) and going on strike lots should be ideal preparation for not working at all.

    (seriously – good luck 🙂 )

Middle finger up in the air, other fingers down, palm facing them means youve done something wrong.

if he wins today he has the record, no?
    no, he equals the record.

Manchester Trev – are you Hora in disguise? What a crock of sh1t.

Now, Im assuming that the peleton dont know how far they are away since no radios – is that right?
no radios but of course they know.

It's a great stand-up line, but I do vaguely take the editor's point that it might not work too well in a national newspaper.
you have to wonder why they decided to ask a notoriously outspoken and controversial comedian to do a piece in their paper however…

I think armstrong has been tested 40 times since he said he was returning? Thats like once a week almost?
    and…?
means nothing. Not just referring to Armstrong but all other riders. Sorry but this whole 'been tested lots therefore must be clean' bit doesn't wash. We got lucky with Cera last year, but as with all other sports, the dopers are one (or more) steps ahead of the testers…IMO of course (with a huge amount of historical evidence to support it)

Agree. rewind them both to the early 00's. Contador would be runner up like all the rest.
hmm, not so sure. Be a close contest though.

I don't think there's any real contest between the 2 when it comes down to it. Contador is leagues better than Armstrong. But hey, each to their own opinion and all that.

I can't decide whether the course so far has been a waste of time, or a real stroke of genius. The TTT has skewed the GC so badly that you can pretty much write off any of the other contenders unless Contador has a shocker of a day or crashes out. And yet, and yet…we see the rare spectacle of Evans attacking, because he HAS to. That has to be a good thing surely. Likewise Shleck the even younger…HAS to make a big move some time. Looking forward to the Alps in a big way. But, the Pyrenees seem to have been mostly wasted. Only 1 summit finish? Trying to keep things 'interesting' till the Ventoux? Not worked I'm afraid…without the TTT that would have been interesting.

From another forum – the GC as it would be without the TTT…crikey, this would have been fascinating!

just find a live streaming site with French audio. No hideous Kelly commentary, and adds to the atmosphere when you hear words like 'crevaison' being yelled wildly

sportives are 'non-competitive'. however lots of people go and treat them like a race and try to get within certain times. But lots of people turn up and bimble round too.

Edit: I wouldn't class Dan Brown as a good writer at all, I have no idea why his books (or the film I've seen adapted from one), are rated and so popular.
Same reason as why the Sun/Mirror/Mail and things like Heat and Hello are. A lot of people either don't want to, or can't, use their brains.

it's very dull. England wasting time and the Portaroos seeming content to just bat and bat.
Hopefully tomorrow will be a lot more interesting.
