Indeed. Ability to compete- around 3 years ago. Mentally- when he decided to make a comeback.

Seems to have conceded to Contador.
I think that was obvious from stage 1. As soon as the TTT put big gaps between Contador and Shleck/Evans/Sastre – game over.

I'm sure Poontang will find something to moan about. I mean, how dare Broad get him to play on?

I have a feeling he was torn between a stage win and yellow and got greedy and wanted both.
nah…he wanted yellow. Stage win unimportant at this point, and he was in a break with Ciolek and Bennati so wouldn't have really expected the win had Ivanov not got away.
However, not only did he not get yellow, but they've now well and truly fecked up Cavendish's chances of Green. All over unless Thor crashes. Stupid move, spectacular FAIL.

crashes, high speed sprints, death-defying downhills, shootings, deaths. Sounds pretty exciting to me.

try to avoid lancing/squeezing it yourself. Antibiotics usually sort it but obviously not in your case. Wash shorts well, dry inside out, use M.A.L.,maybe consider using something like Hibiscrub in the shower.

very odd decision – could spell curtains for Cav's hopes of green.

Aussies down to 2 bowlers. Great batting pitch. Perfect batting weather. No decision to be made!

    lots of good advice above.
Working on my track coaching at the moment – key things I'd say to remember:
    1) ALWAYS LOOK before moving up or down
    2) riding at the top is as easy as riding at the bottom – you just have to pedal harder
    3) ALWAYS LOOK before moving up or down
    4) Don't say 'darkside', people will think you're a cock.
    5) Sharpen your elbows 😉
    6) ALWAYS LOOK before moving up or down.

Shocking. Everyone knows it's 'fewer than 200 yards', not 'less than'.

I can't see why any amateur cyclist would want to use mudguards, let alone the best riders in the world, during the biggest race in the world.

Interesting to see none of them using mudguards
christ on a bike. I've heard it all now…

Interesting that Wiggins' current strategy seems to be to finish on Armstrong's shoulder/wheel in every stage…

he'll have to change that if he wants to stay in the top 10 😉

aye. couple of months of getting to like the suffering and you'll be doing erg marathons. [still mentally scarred from those]

Oh and stop measuring calories as it's pretty meaningless really – measure your score in metres and you'll then be able to compare to various other guides, etc. Rowers typically use the speed/500m – eg 1:50
agreed entirely. ignore the calories bit. Concentrate on good form.

    But what does the 42 40 n 38 mean ?
that's the eta if the average speed for the stage is 42kph, 40kph etc.

The hire car (a Punto) didn't work the same afterwards either – squealing brakes (from the descent) and the engine didn't sound so good either…

hahaha…one of the abiding memories of riding Ventoux is the smell of burning clutches and burning brakes..

Go up from Bedoin! If you're driving to Malaucene you may as well bimble over to Bedoin on the bike (lovely road and a good warmup). May as well do the ascent that the Tour is going up. Then come down Malaucene – best descent.
Did all 3 at the beginning of May, really wish I was going out next weekend..!
