If you search on here there was a thread last year discussing them. Apparently they are good but as with all OEM, can you be certain what is inside them? They can be picked up for less than after-market sets which is a bonus.

Ordered 2 items from Superstar yesterday afternoon and they arrived today with free haribo. Great service!

Not the end of the world, just a valid reason for a conment on a thread about poor service I thought. My egg was fine this morning btw 😀

Yeah. I should have to contact them three times, explain it fully three times, no one contacts me as promised and then waste more of my time returning via collect plus. You knob!

It was their promotion. Discount does not mean you should expect an inferior product or service.

Hurray! My turn to be messed about by On-one. Ordered an C456 evo from the ebay promotion at the weekend. Got a despatch notice saying delivery on the 28th. Didn’t arrive. Then get a new despatch notice from ebay. Frame arrived yesterday with a small chip in the seat stay. Rang customer services who advised me to send in pics. Did that. Rang them back. CS said that they could offer a replacement or possibly an offer of compensation. I opted for the latter given I had stayed in for two days waiting for the last delivery. This request was sent off for authorisation and I was told that I would get a response before 6pm but it shouldn’t be a problem. Low and behold no response. No e-mail this morning. Rang up again and had to start at square one with a new CS rep. He says that the ebay promotion “might have been sold as seen” which it certainly was not. After some delay I am told I have to return the frame for replacement using collect plus wasting yet more of my time. What a great experience!

What’s a ballpark price for single trip insurance, say a guided holiday in the Alps?

Gents. There are two basic elements to Schwalbe tyres in terms of their make-up. The quality of materials used and the type of compound used. You have Active line (carp oem), Performance line (good quality usually oem) and Evolution (the best possible, highest quality materials, the latest technology). Within each of those types you have a selection of compounds. Pacestar is harder and faster, Trailstar is grippier but slower, Vertstar is again grippier but slower.

That’s the basics there are then different side walls, tubeless ready or UST and other variations.

    Hope that helps.

    Cheers

Hi all. There are six of is flying from Heathrow on the Sat. Due to an unfortunate admin error we were double booked but it was too late for us to change dates when the error was spotted. As a result we are sleeping in two nearby chalets but eating, drinking and riding with you. Stevo assures me the is plenty of room for this and normal excellent White Room service will be delivered.

There is me (Andy) on a Nomad, my brother Adam on a Stumpy, my brother Luke on his Norco Sight, Jimmy on a Trance, Chris on a 2005 Enduro which is like Trigger’s broom and Matt who is also on a Nomad. We are all from Lancs except Matt (from Cambs) and live all over. All Alps first timers, really looking forward to it and of course merciless piss taking comes as standard! 🙂

Love the standard Lochnagar. Muscat cask sounds interesting.

Rodgers signing has nothing to do with Utd! He had a year left on his contract and deserved a new one. He was never going to take a backward step in his career and go to Utd!!! 😆

Obvious difference for me on rough downhill sections. No chain slap at all with the clutch on. Forgot to switch it on last week and was shocked at the noise when descending. Maybe take a link out of your chain if the rear mech can cope.

Still a great season for Liverpool and guaranteed Champions League football. Lots of optimism about the football we play and the way our club is run, oh and our great young manager. How many of the sad, bitter people who have just come out of the woodwork can say the same about their club?

It can be anything at all up to 600 kcals. I generally have a poached egg on one brown toast (no butter) around midday then a salad plate with sliced meat, salad leaves (full bag), pickles and ryvita. Surprisingly filling! Tea and coffee is free without milk and sugar. As I say, once you get used to it after a couple of weeks it’s easy.

Works for me. Been doing it for a year. Steadily lost 1st and 2% body fat. Not amazing stats on first impressions but I have been eating and drinking whatever I want on 5 days of the week. I’m in the best shape I have been in for years and it’s easy to stick to once you are used to it.

I’m not fast by any means. Not looking to go out racing, just a social pace on good trails.

Tunnel Hill drains very well. Should be fine by this evening. See you at 7 guys.

Nice one TOJ. I’ll bring two sets of lights so I’ll have a spare should anyone else need it.

I can also recommend PeterPoddy as a bike mechanic. (Wasn’t sure if you were still doing work from on here Peter hence not mentioning you earlier!)

Quick reminder for Molgrips and anyone else who’s interested. I’ll be setting off from the layby next to the Basingstoke Canal Visitors centre tomorrow night at 7pm. We should be able to squeeze in and 1 hour to an hour and 30 before it goes dark. I’ll be on a grey Santa Cruz Nomad. Let me know if you’ll be attending. 🙂

    Cheers

No probs Molgrips. I’m off on Weds so let me know a time and we can meet at the layby just after the Basingstoke Canal Visitor Centre on Mytchett Place Road. All are welcome. E-mail in profile. Will probably be around 10 miles on Tunnel Hill and Porridge Pot at a social pace!

I assume you are basing this on the town centre which is about to undergo an £80 miillion re-development. There are some nice areas of Farnborough and mile after mile of excellent singletrack on MOD land.
