Popped into the Guildford store last week as a visiting friend’s 5 10’s had suffered a catastrophic failure!

He was prepared to pay full price for any decent pair of flat mtb shoes in his size as we were riding again the next day. Unfortunately Evans did not have any flat soled mtb shoes whatsoever. Approximately 25 various pairs of road and mtb spd’s but no flats.

Very disappointing!

Got a 456c Evo. Great fun. Extremely stiff. Built with Pikes and Flow Ex on Pro II Evo, SLX brakes and Zee 1×10 drivetrain. It’s 26lbs and bullet proof!

Yet the only action cam I’ve ever seen on TV is the gopro. Gadget show and Top Gear spring to mind. Why don’t they use this amazing alternative? Drawn in by the marketing??

I had a 2011 Trance X3. Upgrading to 140mm forks makes it a superb all rounder. I wouldn”t go any higher as you risk compromising the geometry. The frames were certainly only warrantied up to 140mm forks. I had a set of Flow rims and XT brakes and then a shorter stem and wider bars (whatever suits you but 50-70mm stem and around 750mm bars was good for me). Don’t go to extreme with upgrades as you’ll risk ruining a great bike.
Edit I had a Fox 32 Float 140mm fork with FIT damper and it was excellent.

Chunky Monkey’s go straight up with a track pump on Flows. I find them a little draggy but they have great grip a good high volume profile and are superb value.

Liverpool were poor but Man U are worse having spent more!!!! If it’s 7th for Liverpool good luck in the bottom half of the table 😆

Jim was that an evo in Trailstar on the front. If so I’m surprised. I could understand it a little more if it’s an oem performance line or maybe the pacestar. I do fancy trying a HR2 though.

+1 for the c456. I have the evo 18 inch and it is the same effective top tube as my large nomad. Long and low in true marketing blurb style!

They don’t come with a head doctor or top cap if you get a pick n mix head set.

Aldi have waterproof fishing trousers in at the minute for £10. Bought a pair for winter muddy rides. Not tried them on the bike yet but they look ok. Combat trouser style. Worth a punt for a tenner!

All the frame measurements are on the On-One site under sizing (under frame only). The head tube on the 20 inch is 125mm.

I usually use about 5% of the tread then buy something else to see what it’s like and store the barely used one in my garage. I repeat the process until people comment on the number of tyres in my garage then sell some to my friends for next to nothing 🙂

Rodgers had a lot of doubters during his first season and finished outside the top four. However it was obvious he had a good strategy and LFC had the foresight and patience to let him continue his work. I think Moyes wasn’t given a fair amount of time and that LvG will need at least 18 months to be successful (ish). Will he get that time when the shareholders start stamping their feet particularly if he doesn’t get CL football again? I doubt it.

£23 million for one player on loan for 1 year is not good business however good the player. No Europe and the highest spenders in the summer transfer window means no excuses.

How long will “believe in my philosophy” and “it’s a long term project” hold any water?

You cannot “double tap” as every use of force has to be justified. The threat should be re-assessed after every shot. Double tapping does not allow sufficient time to do this. Note the word “should”.

Rapidly firing a series of shots at a moving target in a public place so as to hit someone’s leg is very likely to result in a bystander being shot in the back drop. Frankly a ludicrous suggestion!

Big thanks to the trail team at Tidworth. Had a great couple of hours today. Very nicely made trails and friendly locals. Trails were nice and tacky today without clogging tyres! I look forward to my next visit.

Got to laugh at people thinking Mancs pre-season games mean anything. They won the charity shield last year remember. What will be the excuse this year if it goes wrong with no Europe and a “great” new manager (like last season 🙄 )

Sound business as usual from Liverpool. Good acquisitions of people that want to play for the club. We have bought a mixture of talent, youth and squad players. Just need another top striker and ,for me, an attacking central midfielder.

The loss of Suarez doesn’t mean everyone else will falter just like the appointment of Sloth at Utd doesn’t mean they are all of a sudden title contenders again!

City will be there, Chelsea have a decent striker in Costa and Arsenal will do well with Sanchez. It will be a very competitive league as it was last year with five or six teams in with a shout.

Mine doesn’t lock completely. Wouldn’t worry about it.

Flow ex here. Currently got racing ralphs on. You can practically put them on without levers and they went up first time with a track pump. No issues at all.
