Funnily enough I have just ordered some forks from 18 Bikes (X-fusion Slants). They were very good on the phone. Pleased to hear your positive report! 🙂

Royal Mail brought my parcel this morning.

Products picked and dispatched in 1 hr. Price of products and quality ie not oem on this occasion. Royal mail played a part but not the biggest part by any means.

Bit of a hijack! Just bought a Mk2 Nomad frame and now need a 160mm fork. Anyone got a set for sale? Will post in wanted obviously! Tapered steerer pref. Cheers

Giant Trance? I run a 2011 X3 with 140mm up front. Sounds like what you are after. Slack enough and a long TT. Very capable indeed on the rough stuff!

Surbiton is a nicer area, near to Kingston for good shopping and easier to get out into the countryside. Very good fast train link to central London also. Surbiton would be my choice.

I am currently suffering a hangover. This thread has led to my wife going to the drive-thru for me. Large Big Mac meal with vanilla milkshake and an apple pie should sort me out! I’ll have foie-gras for tea!!! 🙂

Thomson prices on ebay are sky high. Saw an X4 stem go for £3 less than the new price last week!!! 🙂

    What’s your budget?

Merlin have the Thomson Elite X4 or Easton Haven both at £49.99

I just got an On-One CNC superlight off the classifieds. It’s 116 g at 60 mm and seemed very good through the Surrey Hill’s today. £39.99 new.

My 2011 ran fault free for 18 months. I’m hoping this is the same. At least I have a fresh warranty on the new one.

Mine’s the same. Just upgraded to a 2013 when Wiggle had them cheap. Seems to need lubing some how, as you said. Feels smooth in action, just doesn’t sound it. Works flawlessly though…..for now!

ODI Rogues! Big and chunky. Great grip and last ages before showing any wear.

I’m doing it on my Trance with Racing Ralph’s on it. Should be ok I reckon.

I ran Nano’s for a year and have run Vaults for 18 months. I recently used a mates bike for a section at Llandegla which had Nano’s on. Switching directly between the two I was genuinely surprised at the reduction in grip using Nano’s. The Vaults have a larger more concave platform which for me was far more comfortable and offered more grip. With the Nano’s my foot was very much on top of the pedal. Are Vaults twice as good as Nano’s? No. But they are certainly better. (IMO :-))

I use DMR Vaults which are excellent. Worth a look IMO

Depends on the bike. No probs for most bikes with the front wheel off.

Nanos are very good for the money but Vaults are a better pedal. I had a go on a mates bike for a section at Llandegla last week and was surprised at the reduced grip of the Nanos compared to my Vaults.

Can recommend the thickies. Not bulky but about 10x thicker than the Endura Baa Baas I bought!

Your body doesn’t hold onto fat because you don’t eat for 12 hours. It’s people spouting carp like this which is why the nation is obese. Every person I know who has tried this eating plan has lost weight easily and in a sustainable way. Maybe read up a bit before commenting?

Oh and people are losing weight not loosing it!!!

Used sintered and kevlar. The sintered are long lived but the kevlar last well and give better power and feel. Resin are almost pointless in this climate.

Skin So Soft worked very well for me the last two years. The one time I forgot to put some on my legs I got eaten alive at Laggan! It contains citronellol which is a derivative of citronella oil and an insect repellant.
