I think i was expecting a lot after all the hype after the recent work and was very disappointed. (Edit Wookster – Singletrackmind brought ability into it for some reason!)

Sorry for having an opinion. Obviously I must be a poor rider if I don’t like an over-hyped badly designed trail centre (and I use the term loosely). My opinion is objective and based on my own experience. I sense some of the comments here are from local fan-boys with a vested interest in getting people to visit QECP to keep it afloat.

Wookster. It is described above as rough and steep and needing a whole heap of skills. So yes people are making out it is technical, which it isn’t particularly. I can only go off my own experience. It is the worst days riding I have done. I was borderline angry when I left due to the amount of time I wasted getting there and the lost opportunity to ride somewhere else. It is the only place i have ever ridden which I will never go back to.

Got to laugh at people making out QECP is some tech fest where serious skills are required. It’s just not very good.

Or maybe the Surrey Hills……….. 😛

Both are actually pretty average. Agree with deadkenny that old Swinley was better. Surrey Hills would be my recommendation as it’s between the two, more technical and more fun than either! That’s where I’ll be spending the day on Thursday!

Swinley every time. Far more to ride and much more fun, particularly if you add in the off piste stuff towards Crowthorne.

I appreciate volunteers put a lot of effort into QECP but I was very disappointed when I made the trip.

They utilise a dial on the top of one of the stanchions, so it is on the fly, much like TALAS.

    Hope that helps.

Zero play when picking up the bike by the seat post. I’ll un-bolt the shock when I get a chance.

I’m 5’11” and had a go on my brother’s xl sight. It was only just too big. Depends on how you like your bike to feel but they don’t size up long in my opinion. XL could be fine for you.

+1 for a well specced Giant Trance. Very quick and very capable.

The Cherry Bakewell from Peaslake stores is monumentally good. So much so that all bakewells since have been a disappointment!

I’m getting angry just reading it! Hope this gets sorted. He should really be reported for deception.

The brake caliper mounts directly onto the fork lower. X-fusion have set the mounts on the lower at 203mm

First ever ride in the Chilterns tomorrow. Got a 24 mile loop off BucksMTB so I’m going to follow the Garmin. Setting off from Coombe Hill monument car park. Should be completely lost within about 20 mins! 🙂

Work colleague told me this story last night.

Whilst on a walking holiday in Oman he and a friend booked a room with a double bed as it was cheaper. On getting out of the shower wrapped only in a towel said friend decides to let a ripper fly. Due to the quantity of spicy local food he had eaten he promptly re-decorated the floor.

His co-walker was so sickened that he lit a cigarette to try to mask the smell. This in turn set off the fire alarm. Cue hotel staff banging on the door demanding to be let in. They eventually let themselves in to be greeted by two men in a double room, one wearing only a towel clearing up faeces on the floor and the other enjoying a cigarette.

My colleague spent the rest of his stay fearing a visit from the local police for degenerate behaviour!

Similar except a different shaped platform, smaller, not as concaved (if at all) and five less pins per side!!! 🙄

It is all personal preference though. I agree with sharkattack. You don’t need to purchase them very often so you might as well get a decent set.

How are Vaults rubbish? Wide and thin platform. More grip than nanos. Fully serviceable. Decent weight. Look good. The only drawback is price. Best pedals out there in my opinion. Certainly better than nanos which I ran for 18 months before my Vaults (which are up to about 14 months so far).

That said, if the OP wants cheap, nanos are a good pedal.

Joe Blow “Mountain” is higher volume than most track pumps. Works every time for tubeless set up for me.

Two wheel washout on the steep and loose off camber chalk at Aston Hill resulted in a face plant on Wednesday! Full face helmet saved me. However it’s a damn sight better than riding it in the wet!!!

Accept the ride off! That’ll prove a point scientifically and definitively 🙄

Just put some x-fusion slants on my Nomad. They seem very good out of the box and cost half what Fox are charging. Time will tell on durability, but x-fusion could be taking a big slice of the market at this rate.

ScottChegg slating the police again – yawn. Perhaps allow them time to deal with this before unfounded condemnation. I hope you get a good outcome on all this PP.

I’m guessing the adapter is upside down and the calliper will grip the disc much further round but 5 mm further on. It’s easy done!

I’m doing the off road on racing ralphs. Not sure whether to put them on my hardtail which is bordering on too small or put them tubeless on the new Nomad and ride it locked out! 🙂

Just BBQ’d some pork loin steaks that had been marinated in Char sui sauce for 5 hours. Served with Jersey royals and salad. Beautiful! 🙂

Flows with one layer of Superstar tape, schwalbe TLR or UST between 25 and 30psi and stans fluid. Never had a problem inflating, sealing or running on different terrain in different conditions.

If folk don’t want issues with tubeless just do it properly!
