I thought for the sake of six quid it was worth a punt on the battery and charger. Haven’t received it yet mind! 🙂

I did the Dorking one a couple of years ago on my birthday as a bit of a treat. I was hugely disappointed. The route was around Leith Hill so there should have been no shortage of excellent singletrack. It seemed that we gained elevation on technical climbs and then rolled down fire road or bridleway to waste it all. The impression was that it was an off road ride planned by a road rider. Very little in the way of excitement. Lots of tarmac and bridleway.

I work with a guy who’s total military service in specialist units totals about 70 years!!!
I’ll ask him if he knows rich. 😆

    Fail.

If your identity cannot be verified an FPN cannot be issued. You are then arrested in order to ascertain your details through further investigation. This is, however, a last resort.

Thanks for the suggestion. It is still a specific offence. Was he a “responsible cyclist who felt obliged to use the pavement due to fear of traffic”?

Also riding with no lights, whilst drunk is not responsible and could easily be argued as riding in a manner which may endanger someone.

Discretion is just that. “Guidance” on the application of law does not negate an officer’s ability to exercise his or her legal powers.

There is a specific offence of riding on the pavement.

It appears they actually let him off with one offence and saved him going to court by issuing a fixed penalty notice. Still seem heavy handed?

I bet he didn’t get a caution at all. Commonly mis-used phrase. More like FPN and words of advice.

ODI Rogues if you want a thicker grip. They get better as they wear.

Why are you asking after him then? Oh that’s right , so called “big-hitters” promoting one another. How very, very dull.

Why? What is the point of this thread? I thought paging threads were contrary to the forum rules.

As stated above, there is a specific shipping option to allow postage of batteries.

Just ordered 2 X2’s from Lightmalls. Fingers crossed they aren’t duffers!

Also, I have an “open light systems” 2 cell pack which is 2.9ah and 7.2v

Does anyone know approximately how long the ss x2 would run from this (if compatible)?

    Cheers

Good day out. 8 hrs 18 mins for our group. By far the furthest i have ridden. I had some difficult moments but managed to pull through to the end and I’m quite pleased with myself!

Well done Brakes. Great time. Thanks to Gee for the route marking. Best organised event I have ridden.

Stick to what you usually ride. You don’t want to get 10 miles in and realise the spd’s are hurting your knees etc etc

Good luck with the 7am start – first start is 7.30 according to the site! 🙂

I’ll be doing it with my brother and mate although we’ll have to wait for my brother because he’s doing it on a stumpy instead of his cx bike. 😆

Ayers Rock is steeper and bigger than The Slab but it has an easier run in and out. The Chute off McMoab is worse (or better) than both imo.

Don’t think CCTV is some magic solution. In terms of solving a crime all it does is give you a picture of the suspect. You still have to identify them. If you don’t recognise them and they don’t happen to be a “known” criminal all you have is a picture! That’s if your system is good quality and was operating correctly at the critical time and the thief wasn’t aware of it!

It will have some deterrent effect and you might get lucky and identify a thief. However it also advertises the fact you have something worth protecting. In my view your money is better spent on better locks, making sure your kit is out of sight and security lights.

I hope this is of some use.

Looks great. Best of luck to them. I seem to remember reading that there are many different options on finishing kit (including tyres) that you can change FOC when you order.

Tomfun. The graphic persecution of a group based on a physical attribute they were born with. Awesome? What a muppet you are. So petty minded that you felt the need to bump it over a month later. Edit – your use of the English language illustrates your level of intellect.

Yep. Ordered about 2 weeks ago. Site said 2-4 weeks. Arrived this morning and it is very good quality with an orange peel reflector. The new led is certainly an upgrade on last year’s too.

I have been over everything and all appears correct. I did find that the cassette has gouged the freehub. (XT on superstar switch evo). Could this be the root of the problem? If so, any remedy or is a new freehub required?

I’m signed up with my brother and a mate. Been very busy at work so haven’t done much riding at all for a few weeks. Will be doing it on a hardtail with ralphs on. A day in the Surrey Hills tomorrow marks the start of my training with two and a bit weeks to go!!! It’ll be reet! 😀

Bought a set from Freeborn for my Nomad. Great service and a very decent fork. Superb value. Seemed stupid to buy second hand Fox and RS given the price of the X-fusion.
