Are endura burner or singletrack pants waterproof?

Wore my Adidas trailcross goretex today for the first time riding.

Not massively wet but quite a few puddles about, tried to hit as many as possible.
    Feet were bone dry after.
Grip on the peddles is super.
I usually wear 11, sized upto 11 and 1/2. Fits perfectly at that and I have reasonably wide feet.

Very comfortable for me anyway, I love them so far. 10/10

Ye I am not too sure mate.
I didn’t take any spacers etc out.
I just dropped the lower legs.
Are the spacers in the uppers or lowers?

I have noticed my 130 mm forks are now sitting at around 145 mm.
Not sure if this was the case before servicing the lowers.
Is this normal? What would cause this?

Brothers are sitting around 130 mm, where they should be.

My brother and I have a GT zaskar and a On One scandal.
We both have RS 35 gold forks.
Did a lower leg service on them as both up around 50 hrs.
Removed lowers, drained oil, cleaned foam seals, regreased wiper seals and added good quality fork oil.
Forks on both bikes feel much much better than they ever did.

Anyone know why this is the case? Or have similar?
Poor quality oil used from factory?

    Thanks. Sounds pretty good tbf.

Ended up ordering a pair of adidas.
Hopefully they will be good fit and function.
    If not easy return

Does anyone have real world experience with the new goretex adidas boots?

Weighing it up between Vaude moab and the adidas. Adidas are quite a bit cheaper with the discount

    2) You need a 200mm rotor, 203/205 will be too big for the SRAM caliper.

I went with Shimano Ice-Tech rotors as I think they make a slight difference to the brake feel, being more consistent over a long decent as they don’t heat up. They are expensive though and have a more finite life. That meant using +20 addapters and some shims to lift the calliper the last 1.5mm to clear a 203 Shimano rotor.

In general, most rotors are much of a muchness. Some are noisy, some cause pulsing, some just don’t seem to grip the pads. I tried the superlight ones that are more air than rotor and eventually decided they were pointless. The best rotors are the ones with the most surface area. The more solid the brake track the better they work and presumably the more heat they can reject to the air. That’s why I prefer Shimano rotors over SRAM and others.

When I look at the spec for Scandal they have a 203 mm disc listed as an option.
    SCANDAL
This contradicts what you say then.
Or do you have a Scandal also? And can confirm 203 mm disc wont work without shims?

    Its getting confusing this

I wont be putting 200 mm on the back, just 180 mm.
200 or 203 mm on the fronts

Owning one – I would be surprised if you can get a 200/203 in the back of the scandal. The disc will clear but the caliper is going to end up in a funny position and you might not be able to get the bolts in, or tighten them.

Thanks guys. There seems to be overwhelming support for the upgrade.
A minimal increase in weight is worth it for a decent performance upgrade.

My next question is 200 vs 203 mm?? Are these totally different discs? Or are the same thing?
    I have an On-one Scandal V3 btw

Another noob question. I will need a 20 mm adapter right?
    Such as THIS LINK

Thanks for the quick reply guys.
    Any brands/models you would recommend?
Would a shimano/magura disc fit my sram kit?
Needs to be 6 bolt mount.

Definite similarities. Thing is, Orbea is sold by a pretty awesome company that’s part of a huge worker’s collective. Whereas the Scandal’s sold by On One, prize bellends and known thieves. So there’s that.

Are Planet x so bad? If it is true, it’s nice knowing I handed them 1000 euro.
    Like my scandal though 🤔😁

Quite similar bikes or am I wrong?

    Hip operation at your age.
How often are moving your joints, spine through their full range of motion?
Modern day life has some many people crippled due to not moving enough. Always sitting, on phone/laptop etc etc…

2 people I would absolutely recommend before considering operation are:
    David Grey rehab
    Movement 101

Cheap programmes that will transform how you move and feel

    Hanger

Pretty heavy price for such a small part. Can they be got cheaper elsewhere?

Does the same hanger apply for the On-One Scandal? Looking to get a replacement and wondering which would fit

I would strongly agree with this. Hips and hip function has a massive bearing on how the rest of your body moves. Tight hip flexors, alot of anterior pelvic tilt are all bad side effects of sitting too much.

Sitting at desk for extended periods of time = tight hips, back, quads and hamstrings etc.

Could absolutely be causing knee pain – multiple muscles cross multiple joints in that area. Cycling can just exacerbate tightness in a flexed hip position.

My left knee aches if I don’t stay on top of mobility and stretching work – even walking and running regularly really helps.

Stretching of Psoas, Quads, glutes etc all really help. I also have a percussive therapy gun and foam roller that I really like using on quads and I find helpful (although the jury is out on actual benefit)

I ended up buying both flats and clipless. Shimano ME700 and Dartmoor Stream flats. Interested to see how I like being clipped in

    Generic kit?

    Thanks for the feedback.
After researching a bit which confirms what you say also. Most combination pedals appear not grippy or big enough on the flat pedal side.
I think I will just buy both a flat and clipless set and see from there👍

Brand x dropper post fitting. Anyone have any tips on how to get the outer cable in and out of the downtube?
Is there a trick I am missing or just a total plonker?

New brand x dropper post for the scandal. Went about fitting it. How do you guys route the cables? Spent an hour at it and still struggling :/

I would suggest to perhaps look into improving your strengthen and mobility in your hips. Internal and external rotation of your hips. Since learning about CAR’s exercises, my lower back and hip function have completely transformed

So after almost 70 km and 3 rides with the scandal. I couldn’t be happier with it,ticks all the boxes I wanted a new bike to tick.
    Climbs well, descends well.
Fork is alot more confidence inspiring that previous bike and fork.
Thanks for the heads up guys, I would have never came across it without joining up here

    SCANDAL
Finally got out for a decent rip last weekend.
    Scandal feels great.
Front forks feel so much more capable than my previous XC style bike.
I still currently live in the Netherlands so trails are most quite hard packed with loose sand in parts. Not so mucky.
Replaced the tyres with Nobby Nics.
Saddle has been replaced, standard one was wicked hard for my liking.
Brand x dropper has been ordered.

Talked to the the guy from actionoutdoors today and said Vaude are fully out stock of Moab stx until August this year.
He said the big lockdowns last year have really slowed up production and is the reason for shortages across all outdoor activity sectors.
Really nice guy just between covid and brexit, it was a difficult time.

It makes noise for sure and louder the better for me.
Not sure how loud it is by comparison to others but is certainly not silent
