Yes your right, just done some sums, and on a litre of unleaded based on £1.30 per litre it works out at 63.82%, so we’re not being ripped off at all, phew :roll:
Ignore VAT. You’re talking claiming tax back on your expense of tools for your job. It’s known as “flat rate job expenses” you’ll struggle to get anymore.
Speed, – I’m just looking for the time the vehicle must be stationary to reach the ‘break even’ point where the cost of purchasing and maintaining the stop start system offers a genuine saving
The idea of a Stop Start system isn’t to save fuel from a Customers point, it is to fulfil the manufacturers obligation to reduce cO2, obviously through their vigorous testing & calculations they can prove a cO2 reduction on the car, thus reducing emissions, this is sold on to the end user as a benefit, but in reality isn’t really!
Grey smoke is un burnt diesel, if the Turbo is giving boost but a split in the pipe is preventing ALL the boost air going into the engine then it’s effectively over fuelling…….
Sounds like they C@#ked up big time, but they seem open to getting it resolved. The least you should expect would be a replacement vehicle, and apology, confirmation that the offending person (who left the wheel loose) is disciplined and I’d say a goodwill gesture of £250, for the hassle, stress and the fact you haven’t got your new vehicle.
Gearbox oil isn’t going to cause difficulty selecting reverse, unless its got non in it or the oil is something like EP90…… Reverse gear doesn’t have a syncromesh, so its more likely to be wear in the clutch.
The £10 check only gives you basic info, i.e. has it got finance on it. The one we use at work gives every piece of info available on a car, i.e. has it been stolen, written off, any registration transfers etc…..
