My c456 has loads of flex if you press the bottom tube. I through it around like anything and it’s solid as a rock to ride.

    I wouldn’t be worried.

Do rotors and callipers need to be the same or can you mix and match?

If I change the calliper and levers, do I need new discs or will the old ones still be compatible?

I’ll change it back after a few sensible suggestions ;)

The spelling is correct as far as I can see. Well, it is after the quick edit.

So, to stop me breaking my collar bone, what brakes would you suggest?

Thanks guys – will strip, clean and re-bleed tomorrow.

    Breaks are Magura Louise.

Does white spirit clean good enough?

One benefit many overlook is the ability to register for VAT. People often worry this makes them more expensive but if you’re contracting to other VAT registered companies you’re not – as they can claim it back.

The advantage in your situation of going VAT registered is that you can go on a Flat Rate VAT scheme. You basically charge 20% VAT and only pass on somewhere between 11% and 14% to the VAT man – netting you 6% to 9% margin.

As a single man LTD company it’s unlikely you’ll be buying anything significant with VAT on so this works massively in your favour.

Haha – looking at that photo you’re coming up Lee Lane from the Shibden Valley. You poor poor person. I struggle that on my MTB in the granny ring on a bad day.

    Enjoy!

Best thing I ever did. Ensured I got a job straight from uni and I don’t reckon I’d be where I am today without it.

If anyone from Singletrack can help us out with promoting this, or even could get the staff team on the ride, it would be really appreciated. We’re pretty much coming past your front door.

Why couldn’t you have posted this yesterday?

I read positive reviews on here yesterday and bought one this morning.

Surely you should have known I was going to do that and saved me buying a crap jacket.

I’ve honestly found their customer service – via email, phone or in store to be second to none.

Give them a call – I’m sure it’ll all be fine.

Try http://www.tagadab.com/%5B/url%5D – You’ll get a VPS from them for much less than you’re paying now.

    Massively reliable also.

We also ride on a Wednesday from The Watermill at Salterhebble – http://www.halifaxmtb.co.uk/

Also look at Claremount – great for the motorway and plenty of riding directly on your doorstep.

Good safe area with sensible rents.

    2 things to point out

Equally good riding options from both. Halifax is great for MTB.

Buying in Ovenden is cheaper – but the money you save will be quickly spent replacing all the bikes that get knicked from your house.

I’ve been cleaning the chain in white spirit after every ride and then re-lubing it. Last night my rear cassette was slipping the the bottom three gears.

    boblo – It’s MTB.

Really – you’re starting a new company and put the naming/branding out to a public forum?

Best of luck with that. Nice strategic move there.

I’m running Magicshine on the bars and lumenator on the helmet currently.

I could stand in for the flood lamps at the local football stadium in a powercut and no one would notice the difference.

I always find both of those sites dreadful. I love their brands and products but the web experience is dire.

Brant – if you read this I’d love to sort you guys out with a better site.

Get in to the online world – web developer for example.

I run a web marketing company and recruiting here is hard. A real lack of good talent available and lots of well paid jobs on the market.

The industry has served me well for 10 years and I still enjoy it to this day.

I wouldn’t personally recommend Hebden. Working in Leeds will mean you’ve got about a 1:15-1:30 commute.

I do Halifax (motorway side of town) to Leeds and it takes me 45 mins to an hour each day. Hebden into Halifax will easily add to that.

I’d look at Halifax, Brighouse, certain areas of Bradford and Huddersfield. Good riding and a sensible commute.

Cross train. Otherwise you’ll end up with a knackered knee and off your bike for 3 months.

Surprised me how little of your leg muscles go unused when cycling.

Man in ‘I sent cash to a stranger but he promised he was nice” Internet shocker.

The Internet is no different to real life. You wouldn’t just post someone £300 cash and hope for the best would you? Jesus.

How many of the riders will get done for doping AFTER getting through Hebden Bridge?
