It’s a walking trail for kids

Great conditions today. Almost dry everywhere, except some patches that looked like they’d never dry out even in mid summer.

Kids loved the gruffalo trail yesterday as well when we took them around.

    Thanks for the info guys.

    Thanks Rone

We’ve been down here since Monday so am hoping to get a couple of days in across there once it dries out. Next 3-4 days look clear.

@devash – Just drop me a line – email is in profile.

I’ll pass your details on to the guy recruiting for me on Monday

Not sure what kind of work you’re looking for, but I noticed your last job was in Leeds.

I’ve got 3 customer service vacancies open at the moment in Leeds if that would be of any interest to you?

I did a track day for my 30th and drove a 458, DB9 and Atom – in that order, which kind of spoilt the DB9.

It was like driving a tanker compared to the 458. Unresponsive, heavy, slow… (relatively)

The two cars are totally incomparable – take the 458.

Interested in why people rate Seiko so much?

I bought into a lot of the threads on here on Seiko quality, but after 2.5 years all the hands are out of line on my Seiko, and they want £91+postage to repair a watch that cost £125 and I can now buy for £95.

Any other brands people would recommend?

    Where are you moving to?

I’m not far out of sowerby, rural and get 6.5mb. BT had to run a new line 1.5 miles from the exchange to the site and spent 6 months doing so – but despite their being demand only installed copper and refuse to install fibre. Seems odd to dig up 1.5 mile of road to install old technology.

We don’t seem to have any alternative yet either.

    All our own design.

Interested in hearing what you’ve got planned. Sound like you’re almost expecting someone to build you a site and give you there products so you can just make a cut. If so, it doesn’t really work like that.

No. You can’t be really. It’s not a realistic position to aim for.

    Yes.

The software is kind of irrelevant. The key is solid supplier relationships who can drop goods quickly and reliably, plus you need to market efficiently as you will be operating on reduced margins in comparison to those who hold stock.

VW Touareg. Panoramic comes as standard on the R-Line version.

Never had a condensation problem in two years of owning it and it’s tinted so the car doesn’t get too warm either.

Exactly what everyone above has said. I had a stress related breakdown that came to a head on the due date of No. 1. Those next three months were brutal.

He’s now 2 and I was only saying today how much I’ve loved the last 6 months in particular.

I’m typing this from the labour ward as my wife’s in the very early stages of No. 2’s labour – so it can’t all be that bad otherwise we wouldn’t be here doing it again.

Dig in, and come back and read this thread in 6 months time when your life will no doubt be better than you could ever expect.

No advice to give, but have been through this myself twice.

One failed round, one successful round and an amazing 2 year old. My second child, a natural ‘surprise’ was due on Wednesday. Who knows what the next couple of days will bring.

Just wanted to wish you and your other half all the best for what lies ahead. Stay positive – we found it made a huge difference regardless of the outcome.

MatalanDirect.com have a large range and are very keen on price. Product is very good quality as well.

Note – I work there, but you can check independent reviews at http://matalan-direct.reviews.co.uk/

I’m on holiday at the moment, and have brought my bike on the roof. Harder than a standard car, but still perfectly manageable.

Absolutely amazing car. Had one for 2 years (previous spec R-line so almost identical to the one you’ve driven).

Fuel is good for the size – 35mpg with a heavy right foot.

Tyres aren’t as bad as you think – try oponeo and you’ll save a fortune.

You will not get a better car in the same class for that money. BMW X5, Range Rover sport etc… All cost a LOT more for an equivalent spec. I’ve started shopping for my replacement next year and am highly likely to order another.

Email me if you’ve any specific questions.

Preview on a mac does do drag and drop. Just open the thumnail pain in the left hand side of preview, and you can drag the thumbnails, or drag another PDF file into an existing doc.

@caspian – how do you actually get on/off the bike with a kid in that rear seat?

Is there a nack to it?

Yes please. Get off at J27 every morning so can collect any day this week.

Buy your gear online. Get a local fitter in. Save a fortune.

Some of the prices above are way over the top. £900 for a shower door and £300 for a tray are excessive – even for top quality gear.

Spent 6 months working in Hull.

Even the cycling is crap as its all flat.

I’d make your excuses now and just avoid the wedding.

The only anesthetic for a 1 day old is sucrose solution. Felt for the poor little man.

Had a scare with my son at 1 day old.

3 lumber punctures and a week on antibiotics on SCBU and it turned out to be a false alarm. Not a nice experience for him or us.

    Good luck with DX

I sent 600 parcels with DPD last month. Not one problem.

150 with DX and about a 5% damage rate plus 5% failed deliveries.

They’re know as DIX in the industry or Night Fright/Shite (they bought Night Freight)

The place I work has sent about 600 parcels this month of goods that can easily be damaged.

I’d opt for DPD and avoid DX / NightFreight

    Thanks everyone

I will be asking for it to be corrected.

The main reason I wanted the sensors was for the alert when someone opens the door. They’ve currently set this to the PIR that covers the door which is totally pointless.

Take a look at Blackley above Elland. New development going up up there.

Rural, close to the motorway but far enough away to get no buzz from traffic. Plenty of Hudds and Halifax riding on the doorstep.

Good local club riding on a Wednesday from Salterhebble in Halifax – https://www.facebook.com/groups/120812281359156/

I prefer more light on my head, so when I’m watching the trail I can see what’s coming up, not what’s right under my front wheel when it’s too late to react.
