Imagine you’re interested in buying a new bike. All of a sudden half the bikes in the market are pulled off the shelves overnight. Bike shops wouldn’t be able to keep up with the enquiries, complaints etc that they suddenly had to deal with as 100% of punters tried to get 50% stock. Inevitably they haven’t got the ability to satisfy everybody’s service expectations.

That’s what’s happening in the mortgage world currently.

I think many bike shops have failed to realise selling bikes is no longer what they should be concentrating on. There’s a million places to buy online that are cheaper with a wider selection. The future of bike shops is fixing and servicing ever more complicated bikes.

Problem may be made worse by some punters being unwilling to pay for decent service.

I bought a vitus hard tail mtb approx 18 months ago. Seemed like the best value for money at the time. Still very happy with it.

I’ve just bought some WTB Byway tyres from Ribble (my preferred gravel tyre). Only £12 each so might be worth checking what they’ve got…

Similarly waiting a delivery. Endless email notifications and no delivery. Absolute shower.

I had some antibiotics for an ear problem that really disagreed with me. Spoke to the doc and they prescribed some different ones that did the job without making me ill.

You’ll do very well to get anyone at an airline to pick up a phone these days. There’s no way they send people looking for lost luggage because a punter has turned detective and is telling them where to look.

I speak as someone whose luggage went missing for a week recently. They knew exactly where it was throughout. They even texted links so you could track it.

There was another similar thread recently. My experience is that they claim to have stock when they don’t. Personally, I won’t use them again.

I’ve not used it personally for editing clips, but doesn’t the go pro app (Quik?) do that on your phone?

Maybe try running as bit of sandpaper over the shimano pads to take off the glossy finish?

Sounds like the GF is more successful than you. I’d suggest marriage ;)

Just because they say it’s in stock doesn’t mean it actually is IME.

Go Outdoors had some Eurohike ones that fit the bill for circa £125. Seemed decent value.

I just had a couple of things damaged in a bag that got lost in transit for a couple of days. They wanted original receipts for everything along with a pile of other documents. I decided it wasn’t worth the hassle in the end. It felt like they would be difficult snd obstructive as a default. In the end didn’t bother because the hassle factor was likely to outweigh the potential claim.

The one that’s a nicer colour will ride better

Relax. Concentrate on the back wheel as you take off. Then focus on the front wheel as you land.

Cathro’s how to jump video on YouTube is very good.

I broke one last summer. Gentle commuting within a couple of days, didn’t ride off road for approx a month. Probably varies hugely from case to case.

I wouldn’t dream of working for any business that thinks this is an acceptable way of dealing with a potential employee.

I’d maybe ride a back wheel like that but I wouldn’t chance it on the front.

Any 90 mile route on Dartmoor is going to be challenging. Great training, but don’t underestimate the relentless ups and downs. Often v windy/wet as well.

Was literally about to say the same as oldenough. If they can patch up all the drunks every weekend it’s not unreasonable to expect a genuine injury to be looked at.

It’s a business built on greed, tax evasion and eroding workers rights. What did you expect?

Pre-existing condition with treatment likely. You’ll have to disclose that when you apply. No chance of getting cover IMO.

By removing the lifetime allowance, he now allows the well off/rich to move £120k per couple per annum into pensions. For these people pensions are not about retirement, it’s a state sanctioned inheritance tax dodge. At the same time the personal allowance is frozen. It’s another attack on the poor and a gift to the well off.

If you use the cutting spokes method, be very careful where the nipple end of the spoke is pointing. Did it once and it went off like a gun. Won’t be making that mistake again….

I’ve previously sold multiple bikes through FB marketplace. Insist on cash or completed bank transfer. It’s a buyers market at the moment tho. You’ll probably need to price accordingly…

Re: NHS physio, I’d assumed there would be a massive wait time. Recently called the GP and saw the NHS physio at the local surgery two days later. Probably won’t be the same situation but definitely worth asking!

OP the chosen fund is 7 out of 10 on the Dynamic Planner risk scale (10 being the highest). Has performed below it’s sector average over 3,4 and 5 years and is relatively expensive.
Personally, I’d be going for a low cost tracker but you may prefer active management.
HL do have a number of tools so I’m sure you can find something that suits.
Deciding whether you want passive or actively managed is probably a good starting point.
