I’ve got some Deda gravel bars that are pretty narrow (40 cm maybe) with only a very small flare. I like them.

Having just dealt with a write off claim, my advice is to avoid AA. Total scumbags.

I bent a set of those Deore jumping my hardtail. For a pure DJ bike i’d be looking at bmx cranks. Bomb proof compared to MTB cranks.

FB marketplace. Yes you do have to deal with some absolute morons, but stuff normally sells. Be sure to share the post in some local bike selling groups.

The Union Tapes did a podcast with Tim March recently. Well worth a listen.

OP if you’re near a decent BMX track/club it’s likely they’ll have beginners sessions with bike to hire. For example Decoy BMX track in Newton Abbot do this.

I had a similar problem on an expensive road frame. It was the frame. The stays hadnt been bent correctly before welding. Manufacturer replaced the frame.

    Lock ring for a cassette.

It did mean I could put my bike back together tho.

I’ve been a merchant of doom re: second hand market for some time, however just sold a decent quality road bike in a week on FB marketplace.

I’m 5’9 and have a Jeht. For blasting down trails the long chainstays make it very stable. For jumping or manualling stuff I’d prefer them shorter.

It probably won’t be in stock when you try and buy it anyway. Standard practice with the “Inn” websites.

I’ve paddled from Stoke Gabriel up past Totnes. Very pleasant. I imagine wild camping anywhere round there would be tricky. I’ve only done a little bit of the downstream section from there so can’t really comment, but pretty sure it will be nice paddling if you get the tides right.

As far as i can tell the second hand market is dead currently so selling either way will be difficult…

My understanding is that transfer values have substantially decreased across the board over the past year.
*I work in the industry albeit no longer directly dealing with transfer work

I’ve got longneck (lock ons) on one bike and those brand x ones on another. It’s worth paying the extra for the longnecks.

Dirt Farm does look good. Unfortunately, doesn’t appear to be open on the day in question.

I once saved a small bird (gold finch or similar) from our cat. I took the bird up the road away from the cat and placed it on a wall. It appeared unharmed so waited for it to compose itself. Eventually it flies off about 10 meters up before quickly changing direction and heading back towards me. At this point a sparrow hawk plucks it out the air a few feet in front of me, in one motion spins 180 degrees and disappears with the smaller bird. One of the most extraordinary things I’ve ever seen.

If in doubt disclose it. Failure to do so gives the insurer a get out of jail free card. Unfortunately, this may have premium/cover implications.

Discussed this with a mate recently. He made the point that soon meat eaters will be eating this without realising. Burgers/sausages have a lot of non meat stuff in them already. If non-animal meat is cheaper than real meat food manufacturers will soon start topping up with this. Remember it wasn’t long ago they were merrily putting bits of horse into lasagne etc.

*obviously subject to when it becomes legal.

I’ve got a Jeht. Used it for local trails, Dartmoor rides, bike park stuff and BPW. It’s more than capable for all that stuff. If you’re coming from an older FS you’ll be amazed how good modern mid travel bikes are over the rough stuff.

It was pretty hit and miss before they went pop. I imagine service is unlikely to improve as all their staff look for alternative employment.
