Wait until the gulfstream stops, then you’ll really have something to complain about

Still going and feeling better for it!

Modern mountain bikes are so much better than those from just a few years ago that I can’t imagine regretting getting rid of an old one.

Road stuff probably less so unless you’re going from rim brakes to disc, in which case crack on.

I thought Tahnee was great. I’d happily get rid of Warner tho.

A friend put his tyres through the washing machine before going to NZ because he’d heard how fussy they can be!

Haha, drove past the Hardline site yesterday. Those boys are welcome to that.

    Plastic tat.

Replace with shimano and wonder why you didn’t do it sooner.

I bought some ODI grips on ebay recently and was pretty disappointed with them (normally a big fan of the long necks). With the benefit of hindsight they could well be fakes…

Went for the 532 because i could source them locally. Too small for a modern, long 29er. Doh.

More recently Fontaines DC, amazing first album then… not so much

Having said that don’t all bands tail off. There’s not many that get better with time.

So, is there any actual evidence that any manufacturer sent bikes to landfill?

The website owners are currently profiting from extreme pro-Israeli propaganda adverts that keep appearing as pop ups on my feed. So, stopping people talking about it is a bit hypocritical.

I got one two or three years back, the shimano/fox 34 builds, very happy with it. Shorter and lighter than my full suss, so compliments it well. Have given it a bit of a hiding so have had to replace the cranks and rear wheel but the frame appears to be impossible to kill!

The Haze Outdoors YouTube channel has covered this on occasions. Entertaining fella as well IMO.

I found an old man in the street, soaking wet from falling in a puddle, bleeding from a head injury, freezing cold day. Ambulance quoted minimum two to three hours. It subsequently transpired he had multiple fractures to his face and required a CAT scan. Emergency services couldn’t have been less interested. I had to drive him to the hospital myself. The NHS is already dead.

It’s worth having a look at Tom Isted’s instagram for a statement about why they’re not riding. It’s clearly not just about money. These guys are genuinely risking their lives / life changing injuries so are well within their rights to expect to be treated well.

Can recommend a Fabia Estate, my wife’s got one and it’s great. Big boot. Sensible fuel wise. Get one without lane assist.

I was going to swap the parts off my Sentier onto a “nicer” frame. The non boost rear hub, scuppered my options so didn’t bother. Glad I didn’t now as I really like it.

Rob Warner being irritating plus terrible music. Gave up.

Yesterday i was getting a pop up window advert for what can only be described as extreme Israeli propaganda. Kinda surprised when it can’t even be mentioned on the forum…

I pay insurance and am happy to do so. The service is way better than I ever got from the nhs. No pressure for unnecessary treatment with my dentist. Yes, I could do without the cost, but knowing treatment is available when i need it is extremely reassuring.

Only too familiar with this due to South West Water’s incompetence

There will be someone along with more knowledge than me, but as I understand it there’s a relatively simple operation that can resolve the problem. Tightens up the elastic band that holds it in (forgive my lack of medical terminology). I imagine NHS waiting lists will be your biggest problem.

Tina Turner covered Massive Attack’s Unfinished Sympathy. Possibly the worst thing ever recorded.

Reeksy is correct. If possible add sleeping tablets to the list.

I’ll never understand the “looks like it’s been in an accident” bent top tubes some manufacturers keep returning to.

I have a friend who was a highly accomplished free diver. I get the impression he’s pleased he gave it up before he died.

That said, what you’re talking about sounds safe enough if you’re a decent swimmer and use some common sense.

I’ve used a similar approach to what Paddy suggests above.
