Good that. Any ideas what the mileage would have been?

Yes, if you look at the electrical drawings for your boiler you will see terminals to connect a thermostat, or in your case the receiver for your wireless one. The receiver may also require a 240v mains supply from somewhere, either a separate spur, or taken from the boiler itself.

Our mate was eating so much tinned oily fish a week he gave himself gout from all the purine intake, so there’s that to watch out for!

I’m especially interested to see any SWB setups, I think we’ve got a trannie on the way this year, and will be looking at basically doing a day van with bed option.

I would assume that the present style of Golfie trails (steep/unarmoured) is known to be unsuitable for heavy use. The hill itself currently makes it self-selecting as to the type and number of riders that can access it. That would definitely have to change under the weight of a bikepark development.

Of course, the Tweed is nothing if not blessed with many other areas people can ride and get intimate with their back tyre!

Looking at the state of my current frames i wouldn’t dare pay out for one, but the finish on them is worth the asking IMO, if that’s your bag.

Are the batteries cross compatible with any other brands?

Can depend a lot on where you live too. If you’re properly rural like me, there might not be as many buyers, but correspondingly much fewer time wasters too.

I also find that in more far flung parts of the country, Faceache Marketplace has a much stronger hold on the small ads level than eBay, plus people are often using their long term accounts, so less likely to be dodgy and easier to check.

Rule number one – Never admit who was driving.

Rule number two – Complain like ****.

First port of call is always the landowner or business the carpark is for.

I’ve just had a Parking Eye ticket quashed by Aldi customer services whos store the car park was for. 12 minute overstay on an hour and a half.

It was certainly the most concete-y of all the concrete GDs. I didn’t actually hate the inside as much as I thought I would in the end, but the bare surfaces really sucked the light out of the place, and there wasn’t a great many windows to start with. You could see how dark it was when the were filming the final reveal.

It’s sort of nice that it exists, but glad I’m not living in it.

Ooh, and looking forward to the return of the King of Cob next week! Although didn’t he eventually sell the place, or at least try to?

Turbines pitch their blades as one, so unlikely it would have been running with one a mile out.

Must have been some kind of visual or atmospheric effect? Or you were on drugs….

Like the equivalent leaf, but with cheaper plastics, and propper bog basic van suspension. Combi version very rare too.

    Yeah, watching video.

I’ve just upgraded my EE sim only to 12 month 40gb for £25 a month. I use loads of data, as it’s my broadband connection when I’m away with work.

The next step on from that in a couple of years is surely unlimited data.

Yep, supposed to be closed for up to 12 weeks for bridge repairs. Access via Lorton side. The road itself is supposed to be closed to cyclists and peds too, but you should be able to go up the village and cross the wee footbridge if you wanted to ride up, or ride via Thornthwaite/Seldom seen.

Keep away from the “industry” at all costs!

    Ours in 2014:

Bespoke custom made Cocktail dress for the bride, and matching waistcoat and hanky for me to go with existing suit. Even a bespoke dress was cheaper than an off the peg meringue. £1400

Hired pub from an acquaintance for civil ceremony and evening do £700

Ram raided local supermarkets for flowers £200 for a van full

No photographer, Couple of friends brought SLRs and as long as you get the family pics for the parents, no one else cares and you save a fortune.

Two Hundred meters of fairy lights to decorate venue £200

Big posh lunch for 40 at pub, and hog on a spit, plus salads and trimmings for 140 in the evening. – We like food, splashed out a bit here £2000

Invited guests to bring a cake or pud in Bake-off style, looked great and £free. Pub did ice cream/cream/custard

We spent most of the budget on food and drinks, total all in was £6k. And as you can see, we could have gone cheaper, but did treat ourselves to some niceties.

Whinlatters only a few miles from me, so might go up there and do a loop up the Pike beforehand. The south loop is supposed to be closed, but I suspect one of the other ways in might get me access to the climb ok. Depends how “closed” its going to be, as its just so they can get traffic up the new widened forest road car park, so not really affecting the climb end.

It actually comes through the village, so if it turns out to be wet, thats plan B.

Straight steerer no, but they do include instructions in the box to swap the spacer to make a 170mm 26″ fork ;)

Yeah RadMac easily the greatest loss there, they obviously are looking at retirement wind-down + have loads of other stuff on judging by the number of solo shows they do.

I was never a huge fan of Keavney, but sticking with him and letting the in jokes build up with you is key I think. Will still be listening all day, so will see how it goes.

Somebody dig out that graph that shows Labour have all of 3 swing constituencies to win by being pro-EU.

The sun rises that early, I’d recommend bivvying out. Any out of Hell, Skids, or Blenc are good. As is Esk Hause.

While you’re technically correct, if you dont use a big birthday to get leverage on something you want to do, i.e. a bike holiday, you’re definitely missing a trick!

Whistler/Vancover slated for my 40th in a couple of years :D

I’ve a long history with Fiats and alfas, the Panda 100 is a great wee car, price is top end, as you say, but if it wants for nothing I’d just go for it.

A 4G router is easy to find, hopefully a decent brand one would have a connection for an external antenna if you need it. Can you not get 4G in the house with a phone?

Yeah I’m one of the Whinners guys. The main reason ours exists is that Paul the ranger is an MTBer and puts the time in to coordinate us volunteers.

Seemingly he has no similar bike mad opposite number down at grizedale, so only emergency repairs are done and the FC continue with the policy of not replacing aging boardwalk sections. Like all government departments the FC has had swingeing cuts under the current government  (narrowly avoiding privatisation) so current MTB provision depends on volunteers to maintain, and occasional a bit of scope/budget creep when felling or contractors are in for other work.

Back in my student days (And a few years after) I found that a tech T and a 100 weight half zip fleece would keep me warm and dryish on pretty much anything short of proper rain. The fleece also helped in isolating the splash off the back wheel a bit. If I got a bit warm I just pushed the sleeves up and dropped the zip.

Monday probably a bad choice. Most snow is on N and E slopes. Check the fell assessors report:

I’ll miss Zoom or Bust, but any losses are currently more than being made up for by the expansion of the wider network of awesome unofficial trails in the valley.

I think Argos is coming to the rescue, i’m drawing the line at paying 60 quid plus waiting for the Bosch one above though.

Currys was a complete illusion of choice though, aisle shelf must have been 30ft long, and every toaster was nearly the same.

Naturally i don’t toast fresh bread, i’m not a complete animal!
