    I've got a large and i'm 6'1" and 82Kg, it's long enough but it hasn't got a cycling cut.

Machine wash is fine, cold and wool cycle if you machine has one. Don't tumble dry!

A few years ago i paid £250 a month (full service wash and tea included – cheers mum!) from a wage of £1200. When i met my GF and we started saving for a house she dropped it a bit though :)

Hi GaVgAs! I was there too for the demo (red and black gillet) testing a 5. Had a great time even on the Conti's. They were unsuited to the mud, but at least they were progressive when they broke away from their (limited) traction.

Hilly running – nothing in W/Latter is flat.

    Expensive, isn't it?

yeah, but i'm not going to comps every weekend, so i'm not too bothered. It's a one-off for me.

Hmm, Biketreks in Ambleside sell Mavic wheels (i'm in cumbria), might give them a ring tomorrow.

My LBS doesn't sell any Mavic stuff, it's not that great, just handy!

They've sold 26million phones, bound to have a few duffers. See also Sony-made laptop batteries a couple of years back.

ooh Cockermouth. Thats the posh end!

Seriously though, proximity to the national park and lots of period houses makes it about 25% more expensive than nearer the coast. Where are you working?

Here are some pics i took one Tues night when the kmbrs went up Skiddaw. We came off the front and down to the right.

BTW, We were up there again on Sun afternoon and i managed to pedal ALL the way up…..

Clipped in by any chance? One of my friends was, and he peddaled a fair bit more than me on me flats.

    Nice bike btw :)

Err, didn't realise it had changed. Never walked up the bridalway, always walked up from the north side.

Not really technical, i suspect it's been speeded up somewhat! Still, some sections aren't as smooth as they look. Lots of loose and sharps about.

I am 5ft 3" ish and ride the standard 170mm raceface cranks on the mtb but on my road bike I have 165mm TA vega lite cranks which can also be fitted to mountain bikes.

But can you tell the difference?

4×4 Octavias are quite rare aren't they? Don't think i've ever seen one on the road.

I'd like one in estate please :)

Video of mojo doing lower service says 5ml in lowers ea leg,fox chart says 30 ml in spring side and 160 in damper side, am i right putting so much oil in lowers? seems a lot.
    Thanks Sean.

30 and 160ml are the total oil volumes in those legs. You need to replace that if you do the full service.

The 5ml volume is for topping up the legs after the wiper clean service, usually done with the bike/forks upside down so you don't lose all the oil.

I've a couple of family members in various forces, afaik, once you are over the initial hump of basic traning at the start it's pretty good. Can be hard on significant others though, if thats a factor. Also, don't expect to be able to walk into any trade or specialisation that looks like big fun, you might have to be a ditch digger for a few years! :D

If you don't like the "Halfords Ram-raid" RS, you can get an ST and give it to Mountune. For £1150 they will make it as fast as the RS, and it won't invalidate the warranty. Plus you'll save a few grand.

Do you really need to be told? If it’s comfortable and it works, then go for it!

Well, i saved over 50% on both the forks and wheel set, and they both look hardly used. Just a year or two old. I guess that means the wheels are all of 50g heavier than this years! :)

What length steerer is on your fork?

Mine came with about 190-200mm on it, and it’s loads too much. Already lopped about 10mm or so off it and presently have a spacer above the stem.
Going to mess about a bit more till i find the height i’m happy with.

Cool. have you inspected the wiper seals and the hidden bits of the stanchions on the forks? Worth ensuring they are smooth, clean and lubed as the previous owner may have been less than fastidious about this and it can wreck them.

Yeah, so i hear. I’m going to order some service bits tonight i think. Going down to North Wales on next wednesday evening for the first time, should be fun!

    Other bike details:
    XT drivetrain and shifters.
Hope Tech X2’s with braided lines, 183mm front, 160mm rear.
thompson seatpost, easton bars, raceface stem, crank bros. pedals (which may go sooner rather than later)

    Wind turbines? i’ve seen ’em

what’s the circle on the right at the start of the vid, mate?

It’s the wind direction and speed sensor(s). There’s one on each side of the nacelle.

Offshore wind has the potential to power every home in the UK and provide up to 70,000 jobs, according to the government

Emphasis on “potential” and “could”! Sadly offshore turbines cost at least 6 times more to contruct in the first place, and natually also are much more expensive to maintain. A current offshore turbine will pay for itself in 10-15 years if it never breaks down. The current design life is around 20 years…

That quoted height will be to the tip of the vertical blade, not the hub, so in reality they won’t seem *quite* that tall.
