Lifestraw bottle is good as a last resort, but flow rate really isn’t sufficient enough to make drinking a hassle free experience, you really have to suck hard on it (oh er misses!)

Cheers so far folks, won’t be using the military road next to Hadrian’s wall though, as I know from experience that its too fast.

I do like the sound of that Calander trip, but who’s boat is it? 🤣

If anyone need recommendations for big 3rd party batteries, I can recommend Waitley brand from eBay. I’ve had a few of the 9(!)Ah for my chainsaw and circular saw, and they certainly don’t seem to be any knock-off rubbish.

Cheers, also, if anyone’s used Starling Business banking, opinions on that would be good too, as I see its all free to use.

Well its working on me. I’ve never previously been bothered about cricket, but I watched about 6 games in full now, especially as it’s free-to-air.
In fact I’d go as far as saying I might go to a game next year, so they must be doing something right.
Great to see more equal footing for the womens game too.

Course looks beautiful, but those rock gardens on an xc bike is giving me the cold sweats!

As a local I approve this message.

Although I’d say mini Inners rather than the real deal.

Conditions have been a bit mint lately 😃

I believe the cancellation of new build domestic gas installations has been rowed back on thanks to pressure from house builders. Tories innit? 🤷

From watching the Pottery Throwdown, I know that glazes are mostly the non-coloured bit, so I’d imagine youd need to find out what makes that up first?

Of course you can use a slip, but that isn’t shiny like a proper glaze, as glazes have silicon/glass in them I think, that melts to give the shine, and glass melts at what, 1500deg+ ?

Mrs BOAS wants a Mini-e. We test drove it and it was a fun little car with plenty of ‘go’ and nice handling. Anyone got any real-life experience?

    Posted 1 day ago

I’m sure it’ll be a lovely thing if you like the Mini image, and the slightly shorter-than-average range fits into your life, which it probably would as a second car.

In other news, I parked next to the slightly forgotten-about Countryman PHEV the other day. only 25-30miles electric only, but unusually it’s also Diesel electric, with a 1.5L three pot. Only been out a year or two, but second hand they are about 22K, so I recon a bit of really good value for someone with the right usage pattern.

Jesus this was exactly what I was after. Always wanted basically my old 29 Anthem with a load of degrees off the HA.

My S1 Flow rims are as solid as you’d hope from Stan’s, but my Neo rear freehub cracked after a dozen rides. It got warranted through Evans, but it took nearly two months. Been fine in the year since.

I’ve a twinair 4×4 cross, great cars. Does all we want and it’s been faultless from new up to the current 70k+

Fine on motorways as long as you don’t have a roof rack on. We’ve driven to the Alps a couple of times with bikes on a towbar rack.

    Highly recommended.

I also cracked due to Jonny Smith’s #modelcitizen Twitter idea. Bought a lunchbox to go with my recommissioned 25 year old F40

You mean #BikeparkDent. Yeah it’s a great wee local area. Been riding there for years. Lots of classic XC and forest trails, then there’s been a new influx of young builders the last few years building more modern steep enduro stuff.

I’ve got a SWB crew custom, and fit two bikes in diagonally with wheels on. (XL transition and Bird Aeris ML usually)

Any more than two full size bikes, and it’s front wheels off loaded longitudinally.

Pixel 3a widely available for £329 from today. Great camera, and the lesser spotted headphone jack.

Presumably the monocoque can’t be that flimsy when the basic vehicle weighs 2.2 tons?

Not much to add other than the OGR is an awesome XC ride, and it appears that the Queenstown gondola won’t take bikes for a certain period at Christmas!.

I’ve got the parkers with the clear and smoke lenses. The smoke was ideal in the Alps with the strong sunshine, even in the trees. I expect I’ll use the clear more at home though.
I was considering something yellowish for dull UK woods when I get round to it, think the website recommends them for flat light.

Bike shop volume Shimano boxes cost a fortune, cheapest places I found for semi bulk orders was On-One, CRC and Ebay/Amazon.

Clarks have small boxes of inners and outers if you Google them.

It’s been asked before on here a couple of times, including by me, so Google that too.

Your main source of power in the first instance is the land owner. They have the power to cancel the ticket, so be nice to them and write a begging letter with what happened. Worked for me with Aldi!

Cleaning up wise, it’s one of those jobs it’s actually good to procrastinate over. Leave all the bowl etc till the evening when the reminants have dried up, and then just chip it off.
