@chapaking, how old are you? If you’re 50 or above, your top end will be going and I’d be very surprised if you can tell the difference between Amazon basics and some decent cable.

The scammers aren’t reserved to selling, we have recently tried to sell a kitchen table on FB and the number of people with convoluted stories about pick up and payments, and their uncle lives round the corner, we gave up.

I’ve had an Emovis tag for 10-15 yrs now and wouldn’t be without it. There are quite often deals for them with DFDS or the Chunnel etc, so keep your eye out.

I used heated insoles for cycling and work years ago, they were very good when combined with decent socks. They were rechargeable, with the battery in the heal, about £100 ten years ago ish.

Classic Dualit 2 slot here. Wedding present, and now 22 years old and still going strong. Bugger, I’ve jinxed it!

We have a couple of MacBook Air’s in the family and are excellent, that said the webcam is pants. I don’t know what the spec is, but they are appalling when compared to anything else including a 2010 iMac.

Arh! Yes the Filo! I think I got it in the sale for £89, that’s when their stuff was worth it. Unfortunately now the quality hasn’t really improved to justify the prices, not even sale prices.

As a slight aside, are there companies out there who can track down pensions for you? Both myself and my wife worked for a couple of different companies years ago who we believe had pension schemes, but how do you go about tracking the pensions down, particularly when the companies have ceased to exist? I assume they are linked somehow to your NI number.

Ventilation is your friend. We had similar problems in a fully sealed room we made at the back of our garage, but I’ve added a door vent and a vent into the garage for good airflow, and now no problems. It’s cold, but that doesn’t matter.

Raise it both with the supplier and Amazon.

Does anyone know of a company with experience of Huawei systems, that would be up for a nice easy inverter swap? I’m north west Leeds/Bradford.

Anything from the Sony A6000 series. I’ve only recently discovered/converted to them and there’s no going back from me. I have a whole bunch of Canon and other brand lenses, that with the appropriate converter, work just great.

All the Alpkit head torches are Chinese made and perfectly fine. I have a couple of mega lux bike lights that are amazing! that said, I only charge them when I can keep an eye on them, and accept that they will go up in smoke at some point ( heated gilet as well!).

As a few have commented on here, I firmly believe 150k is the limit for cars built in the last 10 years. I do big motorway miles and have sold vehicles on at about 130k, always well looked after but just in time it seems. If your son is not going to do big miles, and is only keeping it for 3-4 yrs I don’t see a problem, anything beyond that I would see as a risk.

Yeah, thought so, I need to spend money. I’m a Yorkshireman, so no chance there, and I’m 53 and my top end hearing has gone so what is the point. I’ll just stick my Senn HD25’s in the back of my Mac and hope for the best.

Funnily enough @timmys he’s inline for a new battery, under warranty, but the car goes back in a few weeks and the battery pack is on back order. So as far as he’s concerned someone else’s problem now, but he’s also had to put up with it for the last six months.

As per the OP, my point would be don’t consider a used EV as a long term investment.

Hi @Molgrips, no ,I’m not talking absolute shit, just reporting back my colleagues experiences of EVs. They all do big motorway miles, so not ideal for EV’s, but they have no choice, but all report big losses in charging capacity and therefore range. One particular VW ID3 has lost 50% of its capacity and that’s before winter sets in.

Why would I make it up? Our next car will be and EV,( but it will be leased), I don’t represent the oil industry, or car industry, or any other interested party, I’m merely reporting what happens in the real world where vehicles do large mileage and the effects on them.

I would say no to Moorfield German motors, they’re more interested in the “chav ” market, ECU and lowered suspension type brigade.

Something to consider. I work with quite a number of colleagues with EVs, many who have had them now for 2-3 yrs, and the biggest complaint they all seem to have is the batteries are knackered . I therefore wouldn’t consider a full EV as a long term vehicle, and if possible lease it and get rid when the warranty is up.

Thanks @Footflaps. I’ve got admin status, the trouble is the constant dropping out of data transmission. I think I will order a new dongle ( the Lan version is out of the question due to location ) and hope that solves it.

My only hope for all of this, is that his troubles are gaining traction and more airtime, even some of his most hardcore fans are starting to see through him. But lets face it, they are pretty hardcore.

I got to hold up the queue in the post office the other day as I posted a parcel to my daughter who’s studying in France. I had to open up the box and itemise the contents, and then reseal it. A full 15 minutes, then I proudly announced to the queue it was all thanks to Brexit! The miserable old sods ( many who probably voted for it) didn’t seem impressed. Sod em!

Hi, does anyone on here have Huawei solar equipment? In particular the inverter and battery setup?

I’m currently experiencing a few issues firstly with the Fusion Solar app ( intermittent loss of data ) and now unscheduled forced charging of the batteries up to full. The latter obviously is of most concern as it’s costing me money, but also is it pointing to some serious software issues with the inverter?

Unfortunately my installer went bust last year ( system is only 15 months old) so no help there, but Huawei Europe are proving almost impossible to get help or an answer out of.

Can anyone recommend a northern based installer with Huawei experience?

In answer to the question, can lions climb the ladders of a Land Rover? They don’t need to. They just wait for it to break down, then they get you while you’re underneath it!

    I’m only joking.

The weight, the wobbling about, the size of the things, I have so many questions. And……and where do you put your camping gear? Not in a roof box.

I was just about to say watch out for the Grand Designs house. 7 million quid if you fancy it. The last sale fell through earlier this year, so grab a bargain.

Another one for Sennheiser  HD450BT. Wait for the up coming Amazon sale, you should get them for less than a ton.

Otley Chevin, a classic. Actually, on the other side of the Wharfe valley, the road up to the old Norwood transmitter is a proper climb.
