1 Do i need a chain device up front?

if you just want to try it out use the front mech as a chain device by adjusting the upper and lower limit screws so it just stays on the middle ring. If you get on with it then you can invest

Using the tandem we put brakes under far more stress than most folk do. 230+ kgs at 40 mph down 1000 ft descwents?

tj seriously are you and your riding buddy over 100 kg each, have you really been 40mph on a tamdem, do you wave your willy while travelling at these speeds.

    BS

Funny, because most uplift trucks have millions of Hope brakes abandoned in them…

what others ride is irrelevant there are too many variables to compare, best way is to get out with a local club ride and see how you compare to them

from my experience the spring tension only adjusts the force required to release the cleat, the float and release angle remain a constant and there is no way of adjusting this.

NN 2.4 up front and the 2.25 on the rear always give loads of grip, used to run specialized eskars and loved them too

CRC doesn´t accept me writing this in the review. They filter it, that is why you only see 4-5star reviews!

thing is as far as i can see the review is of the product and your reviewing the CRC service so to be fair to the product your review should not be included in the product review.

I’ve got the specialised bg comp and love them light and stiff and you can walk in them if needed, I also read somewhere that the mavic are good but each to their own you really need to go try a few pairs on to see which ones fit you feet best

How long is the contract, it’s normally 6 or 12 months, if it’s run out she can renegotiate if not tell her to stick it

(I guess his brain’s entirely dedicated to riding bikes, rather than rational thought)

rational thought would stop you riding so fast and loose

You’ll need a hacksaw and some form of “guide” (you can get a tool from merlin that’s good) or can use an old stem or two clambed to the steerer to keep the cut straight. Then metal file it to take the sharp edges off.

or a pipe cutter from your local DIY store but like loum says measure twice cut once
