It’s a cracking part of the country mate. Surrounded by. Countryside, lakes, mountains and great places to live (cheap as well).

Moving from the southeast you’ll think you’ve won the lottery

Cheap spring and an hour’s labour? £60-£70 … Just get it done

I had two rear springs fitted plus mot for £140 on a Saab 9-3 earlier this week.

Not sure if its the same but I’ve lost movement of my right eye and lip after having a tumour removed.

Eye gets tired quicker as can’t refresh it by blinking and notice my mouth most when talking and laughing at the same time.

Should come back but can take a while by all accounts. Get some clear specs for wind protection would be my top tip.

Thanks for the links, some interesting reading. Not worried about any cosmetic issues so hopefully everything will be great. Thanks again

Thanks Crewlie….. That sounds like a good plan, having a morning at work then arranging the treatment for the pm.

Had the surgery just before Christmas and close to 100% now..

    Thanks all

Thanks – helps a lot. Will set up my tricross and just have a few canal pootles as and when I think. Like you say, plenty of time for riding later in the year

Did it last year and tempted again this year despite not riding much this summer…

It’s a great route with plenty of climbing in the 60miles. Take in the rake at rammy and anglezarke towards the end is tough on tired legs

My advice would be to do it for a few weeks before you buy anything…. Spare tube and a pump and then buy it as you need it… The more you can keep at work the better

Well, I absolutely loved it, my mate got halfway and jacked in.

It’s a lot of hike a bike but the views and some of the riding was top notch.

Would do it again but would probably walk it over four days or so

I’m more inclined to stay on the trail than the a82 to be honest but some online reports says its 6 hours of hell while others say it’s a couple of hours of hike a bike. Anybody know for sure how bad it is and how long it’s likely to take to push through this section?

My bro just picked up a giant stance through work for 1k… It looks completely naff, all colour coded but rides well and you could upgrade it to be a decent bike.

Only bikes I’d consider on our scheme is either a giant anthem or trance from pauls cycles as above

Makita lxt are the ones to buy in my opinion. Bare units are really good value once you have a few btys

Op…. I ride a 56 at 5ft11 with a 32 leg so sounds like a 58 would be the one to go for. Currently have pro 4 service course on mine and do get the occasional rub…. I am running some crap flexi Planet X model b wheels in it though and am a rugby player with weight and thighs to match. Clearance would be fine under normal circumstances I reckon and certainly don’t get any probs with my summer wheels and tyres.. It’s the best bike I’ve ever owned and the only bike that lives in the house as I’d be devastated if it went. Also had a defy previously and the Scott is head and shoulders above in my opinion, massively better

I’d still say 2nd hand is best in your position. Not much can go wrong really as long as the frame is not cracked, the wheels run true and the gears shift.

£200 – £300 will get you a lot of bike and something you’d want to keep or lose little on if ou didn’t

Learn to be organised. The ability to get us all out of the house in a couple of minutes with everything we need is priceless. This also get easier the older they get. Don’t get too comfortable staying in as it appears easier. Get them outside loads either in the pram or some carrying instrument and let them look at stuff and get loads of fresh air.

Also buy the equivalent of a hack bike pram. We bought an old 3 wheel off road pram off eBay for £20 and it goes up rivington pike several times a week, gets slung in the back of cars, left in the garage caked in mud ect.

Buy a blender and learn to cook without salt and sugar and blend whatever your eating for the little one, get loads of veg into them and get them started in real food instead of jars for years.

Don’t get hung up on what you think you should be doing or when things don’t go to plan. Just enjoy it

Zero feedback yet the advert reads as if he’s used eBay plenty of times. That always worries me when I’m buying something from a seller with no feedback.

    Probably just me!

I’m in a job to give you an idea op… How about not using the emergency services to ‘data capture’ for a minor accident. If youre hurt, especially with a head injury then call a ambulance amd don’t drive 18 miles home putting people on the road at risk. If you have issues/damages with somebody after an accident, give them chance to sort things with you. Maybe after a couple of days he’d have bought you a pint and a shiny new helmet due to being at fault. Who knows as you didn’t give him chance, just presumed.

You’re not talking straight now… Either you were concussed with a totalled helmet confused on the floor or you were well enough to report to the police then drive 18 miles home after a slow speed collision according to your garmin?

Injured and dazed in as much that he went to the police first instead of the hospital? Not that injured then..

And not his responsibility at all but I’d have helped

    andy3809

But the op mentions the dog owner asking about his injuries several times. And when he asked the op if he was going to the hospital, he says no but I’m going to the police? Just seems odd to me

    andy3809

No, but you’re fully to blame for not helping to find a potentially seriously hurt and scared dog instead of reporting the incident to the police immediately.

Regardless of who’s fault it was and how strong your desire to be compensated surely a bit of compassion would have been well received.

really depressed me reading that. At least you reported it in good time, need that scuff on your shifter sorting asap!

It even applies to small vans that aren’t car derived, transit connects ect. Unless they share a chassis with a car

    andy3809

This isbold legislation that hasn’t kept up with the fact that most modern vans can actually stop when you want them to. Only seen this enforced in north wales to be honest

My little lad is two and slept 12 hrs a night up until a few months ago. Since turning two he has learnt to fling himself out of his cot like he’s doing a tough mudder. He then stands at the gate first shouting ‘daddy daddy’ like Alan partridge, then switching to ‘Andy Andy amdy’ before cracking himself up. This is at about 4.30 and he gets scooped up and put into our bed and we have a chat for 30 mins before I’m up for work and he sleeps with his mum till 7.30. Could be stricter but we quite like it to be honest and all seem to sleep enough
