If the chainrings are worn into a shark tooth profile a new chain is likely to slip under load. I wouldn’t be able to tell where the chain is slipping just that the cranks suddenly slip round under load. If you use one chaing ring less than the others test in the least worn (big ring if you have triple is unlikely to get as much use off road). If that improves things then chain ring wear is likely.

If it is worn chainrings then put your old chain and cassette back on if you still have them and run into the ground before replacing.

I’ve had mine nearly 2 years and am very happy with it. The finish is a random carbon lay up which I like but some may not. Full ultegra and decent wheels for a very low price.

I’m in. Did the Tumble watching this year’s Tour of Britain stage (except the last 150m). Great climb.

Ty-mawr specialise in lime based paints and renders. If it’s single skin brick it’s unlikely to stay properly dry but that will depend on exposure to driving rain.

You may also need a ‘proper’ flat roof material to a nominal fall rather than just sealing concrete. Felt or fibreglass would be the easiest options depending on whether you want to do it yourself or get someone in.

Don’t get the quick release version. The release clip is very fragile and will break within a few months. Very good up to that point though!

Is your clad wall is perpendicular to the boundary? The allowable unprotected area is for walls parallel to the boundary. If your door is perpendicular to the boundary it should be fine.

If you had a great big window (or door) facing a great big window in your neighbour’s wall a fire could spread by radiated heat between the two properties. This is the reason for the restriction and why you can have a greater percentage of unprotected area (windows) the further you get from the boundary……at least it is in England and Wales, Scotland may differ.

You can download free maps at OpenStreetMap to your Garmin. They’re almost as good as the Garmin maps just missing contours.

I get it too but it’s not specific to this place. I think it’s a wily plot to make me click on adverts that I would otherwise ignore Anyone got a solution for non premium lurkers on an ipad?

Garmin? Wet ride? I’ve had this a few times, Garmin dries out over a few days and then works fine.

How direct a route do you want to follow? Don’t think you’ll find much following the A48.
There’s a seafront cafe in Ogmore, village shop in Ewenny (good pasties) or plenty of pub choices if you go off the direct route. Unfortunately the Downs cafe above Aberthin is now closed 🙁

Tenerife is good. Get in touch with Lavatrax if you want to ride MTB.
Bike Point Tenerife if you want to hire a road bike. You’ll need to like climbing if you choose road and can climb from sea level up Mount Teide for a few 1000m of vertical ascent.
Gran Canaria also has good road surfaces.
