I was up on Cut Gate on Sunday. Most of cut gate path is a sludgy boggy mess.

I would try to think of something a bit harder if I were you.

I tried this. I fasted (ate 500 calories) one day and then the day after went for a ride and nearly collapsed. I was exhausted.

I decided to stop after this…

If others are getting on OK with it then maybe I could give it another go. Perhaps the exhaustion was caused by something else (the fast seemed the obvious thing to blame it on)…

    Total incompetence.

I’ve got an LX3. Highly recommended by every review I’ve read and myself. There is an LX7 now with a F1.4 – F2.3 24-90mm lens.

    Pigeon fanciers

When I was a lot younger I lived in a pub and men from the local pigeon club would occasionally talk about taking peregrine eggs. 🙁 Nasty sods. Glad peregrines are doing better these days.

Get a grip. He asked why people do it. I told him.

Possible misuse of the word “troll” but you haven’t exactly avoided winding him up.

Anyway I’m enjoying looking at pine martins and reading about grouse predation so thanks.

No pigface… He’s trolling. He didn’t ever say that it was OK he’s just putting an argument out there to make people upset.

I have just ordered an Intel Lenovo X131e and am awaiting delivery. There was a 10% discount running on Quidco plus 4% cashback – think this has expired now.

I’d be interested in hearing your impressions when it arrives – I might finally get round to buying one of these…

A few months ago I was considering the Lenovo x121e. Looks a solid machine albeit slightly let down by the CPU. I’m going to hold off and see if Lenovo refresh it with an Ivy Bridge.

Its an ideal size/weight for me though.

EDIT. Have just discovered he x131e which appears to be the latest in this line. Still a disappointing CPU although its supposed to be low power so what can you do…

I know nothing about building bike sheds but couldn’t you have put something big and steel in the concrete to lock bikes to?

Looks great – I will be following this!

there was a very good documentary on the concept of infinity and the fact there’s more than one infinity, infinities bigger than other infinities… delightfully mind boggling yet easy to understand at the same time.

Is this the BBC4 one I watched which talked a lot about mathematicians trying to comprehend it an ultimately all going insane?

MMtracker. Costs a fiver but you can put OS maps on it. You can make routes and waypoints in app and it does tracking. Don’t think I could do without it any more.

I’m so rubbish at biking that I don’t warrant a new frame. I’d dent and scratch the poor thing even if I did buy one. I’ll keep my cindercone frame and ride it until it snaps. At least then I might be at a level where I would notice the difference between mine and a new one.

I watched it last night with the OH. Upset us both. He was agonisingly close.

I can not imagine what was going through his head during that storm. It must have been terrifying.

Still sad thinking about it now.

It’ll all be OK as long as they don’t compromise the integrity of the design.

which foot have you got forward? could well be a case of switching your forward/back foot so your hips face the other way.

I just ran out the door with a grin like Eric Cartman after he’s beaten Kyle at something and tried this new “Other foot forward” technique.

I now have a hole in my jeans and a bruised arse from my seat – must lower next time.

    I’ll keep at it.

Brazen attempt….but did they really think it would work?

Must admit it seems a little bit insane to me – surely towing a heavy bike like that with a scooter would be very slow.

My granny has had a Kitchenaid for years and loves it (I can’t tell you first hand about performance but can confirm the cakes produced are first class). And she is even cooler than Mary Berry so she should know!

I’ve got an 80’s style Kenwood Chef. Decent things but pretty noisey! The capacitors inside it all blew up as well and the whole thing started smoking (Probably due to its age). I got replacements off Ebay and it’s as good as new now.

Cheers for the advice. Just put a route into the GPS so should be good to go tomorrow. Its been a while since I’ve been out in Edale without a bike!
