Well done all and Happy Christmas
Finished off with a tootle on the road before heading off to relatives later today
AndrewLFull MemberBeautiful photos @Scotroutes & @Ahsat hope the back settles quickly @jimmy
Ride out from Hope today. Horrible mist in Sheffield but Hope Valley had a fair amount of clear spells
AndrewLFull MemberGood effort @ahsat
I’m off work this week, run on Monday, ride yesterday from Calver.
A walk around Burbage today
Nearly there
AndrewLFull MemberNice photos Scotroutes & Mogrim.
Last week for me was a bit less active than before. Combination of weather and feeling a bit run down. Hope everyone else is doing OK with what’s going on.
Monday – run round the woods
Tuesday – bit of a local ride
Wednesday – intended to ride home but work busy and sleeting heavily so went for a stroll
Thursday – again a bit of a walk after work
Friday – ditto – running theme for week!
Saturday – run after work
Sunday – lethargic bike ride but nice to get some fresh air
AndrewLFull Member@jimmy – yes well spotted down at the bottom of the Vernon Lane descent – really nice route. Most of it holding out well but a bit squidgy down at the bottom.
Other photo is Barbrook, I swim there in the Summer but as I rode up the track to it this time some people were coming the other way who looked like they might have had a dip. I’ve seen people with hammers in the past getting the ice broken to get in – braver souls than me! More of a @scotroutes activity I think.
AndrewLFull MemberFingers crossed everyone and families feeling OK.
Last week for me:
Monday – Out on the bike over towards Holmesfield and back via big moor.
Tuesday – walk through the woods
Wednesday – very cold ride back from work, over Froggat then finished back on the road
Thursday – commute back to work against the wind!
Friday – short run after work
Saturday – Dig morning at Lady Cannings for ride Sheffield.
Sunday – met friends for a ride round Ashover
AndrewLFull MemberHope everyone OK.
Rode home from work last night semi off road and ended up with all my layers on and big gloves
Car was left at work, so committed to ride back this morning over the tops from Sheffield, biting wind and 0c at the car after descending the road. Took a while to get functional hands again!
AndrewLFull MemberWhat a change over the week. Like the photos above and glad people are getting out to play in the snow.
Monday: local loop through the woods and out to Blackamoor.
Tuesday: train out to Hope and did a loop over to Peak Forest
Wednesday – ride after work
Thursday – early morning trot
Friday – most borderline day so far – managed to cobble together about 30minutes of walkingSaturday – walk round the woods
Sunday – ride in the snow – had melted and hgone slushy on Saturday then frozen hard overnight so interesting conditions.AndrewLFull MemberI like the snow and proper hills above from Scotroutes and Jimmy!
We got out to Hope today on the train and did a loop up broken road, Rushup, down to Peak Forest and then back up to the top and down Pindale.
AndrewLFull MemberI keep having intentions to do a Bivvy and not quite building up enthusiasm!
Over the last week:
Monday – walk in the woods
Tuesday – ride out from Calver, past Hassop, down the golf course descent Bakewell and back via Eyam
Wednesday – off road commute back over Froggat and down through Blackamoor

Friday – loop after work round Tideswell
Saturday – trot round the woods
Sunday – out to Holmesfield, Barlow, Linacre reservoirs and back via Holmesfield again.Ground still unusually dry for the time of year.
AndrewLFull MemberHope Mrs Scotroutes feeling better and makes her escape back home.
Trot around the woods for me today. Hopefully a ride tomorrow.
AndrewLFull MemberGood photos above from Jimmy, Mogrim & Scotroutes.

Good to hear what everyone else is getting up to, hope all of you with other stuff, injuries etc are managing to get a bit of something with fresh air done, and even if not, that you are not beating yourselves up about it.
AndrewLFull MemberHappy birthday, hope you didn’t end up with warm beer from the rotor
AndrewLFull MemberIt’s not quite Loch Morlich but this was todays ride……
Last weeks stuff:
Monday – trot in the rain
Tuesday – much better day rode off to head past Burbage then round Stanage and back through Blackamoor

AndrewLFull MemberWell done all.
I’m still going with no gaps. Today’s was an hours bike commute, was 5c when I got there so definitely chilling off.
AndrewLFull MemberMuch, much nicer today than last few days.
Managed to get out towards Stanage, then back down through Blackamoor
AndrewLFull Member@scotroutes – thank you, your and others’ very good photos have made me get back to taking a camera or at least getting the phone out a bit more. I’d really got out of the habit but I think it helps with this 100 days thing.
Good to hear what everyone else is getting up to
AndrewLFull MemberLiking all the photos above and good to hear what everyone is getting up to.
A definite change in the weather over the last week, started off with dry trails and fine to ride the Summer only stuff. The Peak district has liquefied rapidly after that!
Monday – afternoon ride with good light out onto some of the stuff I avoid over winter as it gets too claggy and cuts up.
Tuesday – still pretty dry, a ride round Blackamoor and houndkirk
Wednesday – short run after work, super mild
Thursday – met in the evening after work to night ride with some friends, raining hard and got back to the house needing to hose myself off in the garden!
Friday – night run along Curbar and White Edge after work
Saturday – Afternoon Peak district ride after the worst of the rain
Sunday – a walk in the woods
AndrewLFull MemberI think the Simon Howie is the best of the supermarket bunch I have had, but obviously ongoing research is required.
AndrewLFull MemberLast week:
A bit of a quieter one overall and a photo fail!
Mon – bike ride locally, out to Blackamoor and houndkirk area
Tues – ran in the evening with other half, up onto Totley moss
Wed – ride after work mainly on the road on commute bike
Thurs – meeting after work but managed to ride to it mainly via Monsal trail, at end of meeting rode back, forgot I was heading back uphill on trail and then big climb at the end to get back to the car!
Fri – rode to the pub and short walk
Sat – Dig day in LAdy Cannings – my arms tell me this has pretty much covered my exercise requirements until Christmas.
Sun – exciting Trellis building in day so managed a short evening run after.AndrewLFull MemberNot out surely, you’re now doing the 98 days exercise until Christmas?
AndrewLFull MemberGood to hear what everyone’s been up to.
Failed to get good photos this week, feeling a bit tired as well and might take it easy for next week, this will also give Hector the cat a rest on strava – I think he’s been wearing out his paws too.
Mon – local ride on commute bike, some bits in the woods
Tues – run in the rain
Wed – rode home off road from work via Hassop, Baslow edge, Big moor, Totley moos, Blackamoor and Ecclesall woods
Thurs – unavoidable return to work this time on the road
Fri – bit of a ride after work, misjudged temp – was a lovely sunny day but was down to about 5 degrees when I got out and also managed to break softshell jacket zip in a comedy fashion – obviously the 100 days exercise is working well……
Sat – worked in the morning and got out for a mountain bike ride in the late afternoon – Holmesfield, Big moor, Totley moss. Night ride later to the pub and back.
Sun – bit of a local run
AndrewLFull MemberHave subscribed since the first issue. Liked the Jamie Hibbard article and the group ride / snacking one.
Personally extremely disinterested in e bikes and especially 13,000 pound e bikes.Appreciate that some people like that kind of thing.
AndrewLFull MemberIt is very nice in the Dales which makes photo taking easier, the Scottish photos further up the thread are definitely making me keen to head further north.
I hope everyone else is doing OK too.
AndrewLFull MemberMonday – ride from home down towards Holmesfield/Barlow
Tuesday – bit of a run in the rain
Wednesday – off road commute back from work over Froggatt/Curbar
Thursday – return to work on commute bike
Friday – off to Dales after work so got up a bit earlier and had a short walk
Saturday – other half doing the 3 peaks fell race so I mountain biked, making sure I timed it to avoid being in trouble for missing the finish!
after ride dumped bike and walked along river to the race site – found this beast languishing in a farm I passed
Sunday – we both went for a steady mountain bike ride before heading home. A tour of Pen Y Gent, weather a lot better.
AndrewLFull MemberFor last week:
Monday – run and then bike ride later to check bike working
Tuesday – bike ride
Wednesday – off road commute home from work
Thursday – return to work
Friday – ride after work – photo from this
Friday also meant covid booster which I am very grateful for and think is a very good thing but resulted in the weekend being less energetic.
Saturday – very short run after work
Sunday – a walkI think 100 days is a long time to not be affected by life/illness/other stuff happening, especially at the moment.
AndrewLFull MemberI’ve done a bit more the last week or so, but will definitely be having easier days too and some of my rides have been pottering about.
Hopefully it’s a trigger to do a bit of something, but it shouldn’t matter at all how much and listening to how we feel is very important in terms of not overdoing it ( or listening to the electronics!)
AndrewLFull MemberI am thinking in a Monday to SUnday week for this, so for last week:
Mon: Local loop heading out to Blackamoor woods at the edge of Sheffield
Tues: Loop down towards Linacre reservoir area and back via Big Moor and Totely Moss
Wed: Commute home off road along curbar – definitely getting dark earlier – as per photo
Thu: Commute back on the road (counting as it’s a hilly 11 miles!)
Fri: Quite lanes and tracks loop after work
Sat: Run locally from home through the woods and up to Ringinglow
Sun: Bike ride out towards Holmesfield and back via BlackamoorFitting in some bits of stretches/exercies for back.
Think this is relatively easy at the moment with nice weather and dry ground, probably be harder to keep momentum as things get darker, wetter and colder. I am not a mega strava user but think that for this it is quite good for motivation to see that everyone else is getting out too.
AndrewLFull MemberLast week:
Thursday – aborted swim in local spot as levels gone down so much there was a sea of mud to get to water, ended up with mountain bike ride in the evening
Friday – road ride to pick up car from MOT
Saturday – at a friends wedding in wales, tagged on at back to run up Y Lliwedd and back which seems to have done some harm to my legs! Paddle back at campsite before afternoon ceremony.
Sunday – recovery stoll half way up Siabod and bracing swim
Couple of photos, first ones cheating as they were warm up Wednesday trip out on train to ride some of the way home through the Peak.

AndrewLFull MemberGlad it has arrived and fits, see there is a point to keeping all that spare junk, erm, I mean useful parts that just temporarily have no use.
AndrewLFull MemberI was going to give this a go this year, thanks for sorting the Strava club, I am cunningly disguised as one of my cats on there! Will likely not bother logging non biking/running on Strava but will fit something in on empty days.
AndrewLFull MemberHeather and honey beer just kegged yesterday. Will let it sit to mature for a bit then probably bottle with a sugar top up to bottle condition it.
Once fermenter cleaned out I have made a NEIPA. Realized I was low on pale Maris otter malt and have improvised with extra Munich but I don’t think it will do too much harm!
AndrewLFull MemberMy 2015 scout cracked and died, the axle has survived! It is non boost so presumably same size as the 2017. Scruffy but functionally fine. Can post it to you or if you are in Sheffield you are welcome to pick up.
AndrewLFull MemberThanks Martin, I conversely should have noticed how much suspiciously better mine was riding, and without any rub from the pack on the tyre……
Have sent a pm to try and send you some beer in way of thanks
AndrewLFull MemberThanks Rich for organising.
I need to work out and thank whichever kind soul found my lost seat pack dry bag and then carried it to the pub.
I ended up getting my long suffering other half to meet me at little langdale and we did a tour of various passes and pubs until it was located.
I ended up doing a truncated version today so I did about 80 miles in total. Some lovely stuff over on the west side I hadn’t done before.
Lovely to see everyone and I hope all had a good ride
AndrewLFull MemberI think I have a lucky dip every time I go through grizedale anyway so it will be usual service!
Looking forward to it
AndrewLFull MemberI think the end is different with going over sadgill in a slightly more circuitous route.
I hope this is the only change as am in dale’s for few days before heading over to lakes and have no way of updating my GPS whilst away from home!
I will get a decent ride in even if I am doing my own unique route!
AndrewLFull MemberHi RIch, thanks again for the organizing.
Sorry for more questions but for the hard of thinking like me – I’m going to turn up on the morning on the bike ready to go – is registration and set off from the Eddie’s field camp site on the Saturday morning? Would be able to register Friday evening if not. And it sounds like we need a copy of the e-ticket and to be able to log in on the NHS app.
thank you
Andrew
