That would only work with special-shaped roads

    And yes, it does work

Did 214 in a wet and horrible 12 hour road TT, found it much easier than a 6hr MTB race, still going strong at the finish. The step up to 24 was huge though, really struggled at times, fell asleep twice (once on the bike and once not). That was even wetter and more horrible, bit disapointed to only do 316, but looking at the amount of people that DNF'd I don't suppose it was too bad.

Advicce? Eat loads, even when you're not hungry. Work out how much you think you will eat and take double that. Also have bottles at all times, one energy drink and one plain water. Set of dry clothes every 6-7hrs really helps too, even if just socks/gloves/base layer.

    8 miles there, 36:14
Much longer way back, but still 36:14.

Muslims and Jews don't eat Porky Pig.

    Hindus/Sikhs don't eat Beef.

But like Christianity-it can all depend on the person and how much they follow their religion.

The only bible quote I know is the bit from Laviticus where it says you mustn't eat shellfish.
That which lives in the sea nad has neither fins nor gills shall be an abomination unto thee.
Don't take prawns to your christian friends.

Maybe I was just a one-off, they were very helpful when I had the demo, but didn't seem interested in sellling anything!

Had trouble going for test-drives in S/H cars too. One garage tried to sell it to me before I'd even driven it, knocked a fair off too. Turns out it wasn't quite as advertised (milage, service history etc and the clutch was shot) One place wouldn't let me drive one becasue he's just had it valeted and I might get it dirty again. Other places gave me the keys almost as soon as I walked in. Serious about buying, but had to try seven before I found the right one. None of them charge, although the one mentioned above expect me to put a gallon of fuel in it when I'd only had it 10mins…

I had a go on a couple at Mountain Trax near Wokingham, Spark and a Yeti ASR-SL, no charge incurred and had them 2-3hrs each at Swinley. Decided I liked the Yeti best, and that I wanted the ASR-Carbon. Kept pestering them for a quote on a custom build but they are useless at returning calls and emails so ended up getting it from Bromley Bike Co! You'd think thye would be abit keener to sell something that expensive…

as above I've had one 170mm and one 175mm on the same bike and dint feel anything odd.

Now I think of it, I put a spare crank on the comuter last week after a pedal-seizing incedent. Didn't even check the size so may be doing it again for all I know.

I'm sure you coul tell 165mm and 180mm appart though.

Got a set on my comuter due to lack of disc mounts.
Huge step up over V's. Been reliable so far, and they were S/H a year ago from Fleabay. Eat pads though. Also, best if you have nice wide rims. And don't even think of a set without the boosters.

    Two in one collection.

Had you been saving the first one up waiting? Stockpiling is cheating

108D kitted out with bed, fridge, hob etc not massively fast

120 should sort the fastness problem

Have driven a Caddy and would recomend them, very nice to drive. Bit small, although larger than Berlingo/Kangoo/etc.

I had ISIS Middleburn RS8, BBs were shocking, and CRC customer service cr@p. Now have square taper RS8s, UN74, lovely.
My other bikes have all been square, other my current race bike which has press-fit bearing thingys. If they did an adapter for that it would be square too (Tune AC38 for that one!)

They do if you're close enough.

A few will pay for it if you can deliver.

I had to scrap two in a week, anyone beat that? (cambelt snapped, followed by MOT failure on the replacement vehicle)

Several issues with my Pace forks and Pace being very unhelpful.

I'd take the Cotic. (you can re-paint it if it bothers you that much)

I just did the same. All I saw was an xtr chainset that looks exactly like the current one but hidden in a safe. Did I miss something?

    Yes.

Bit lower down the google page, the one with the shiney cranks.

Would I be allowed to post a link to a site where someone has posted a link to pics of the groupset? How many 'links to' would be acceptable?

I rode one (briefly) last year.

It is probably the only bike I would seriously consider swapping my Yeti ASR-Carbon for, it's that good, miles ahead of Sparks, Epics, Fuels, etc. Would love to get a longer ride on one.

    300g lighter than the Hopes.

    Tune Prince/Princess hubs
    Alex XCR Pro Scandium rims
DT Aerolite spokes (32 per wheel)
    Sub-1200g pair.
    Lovely.

PS. Don't buy Tune hubs from Poshbikes, customer service is auful. Best to get them from the continent, try Starbike. Only slight downside is a Prince hub cost me more than my car

    Good try Ewan.

However, you have excluded the nights on the basis that they get no sunlight. However, the ambient temperature at night can be, and usually is, above freezing, so although the sunlight would not be supplying the energy required to melt the snow it would still be able to draw energy from the air around it, provided that air was at a greater temperature than the snow. Any cold nights would lead to more freezing of the snow, increasing it's density and prolonging it's life. However, the number of nights when the temperture does not fall below freezing is exceeded many-fold by the number of above-freezing nights.

Probably best not to mention the K24 retraction when you first meet someone, don't want to appear too pushy.

My first car lost £140 in 12,000 miles.

Bought it for £200, scrapped it when the first big thing went wrong (head-gasket), got £60 for it from the scrappy.

Had to spend £40 on a new tyre for it during the course of ownership though. Pronton Persona 1.6XLi by the way, not bad for a first car.

Full length out ziptied to frame works fine. I use full lengths on all my bikes, and have to ziptie it as Alligator i-links wont fir the stops!

FWIW, I have a 1999 Attack Trail, love it to bits. Also had an XC100 frameset and a Mt Vision Pro as a warrenty replacement for it.
Would definately recomend Marin generally. Got a carbon Yeti to replace the Mt Vis, but would never get rid of the AT.

Still riding, don't want to drive, the roads are chaos when I get to town. Coming home the long way, ungritted way as it's so much fun. Using Panacer Fire XC Pros as my road tyre for the last couple of weeks, Tioga XC SLs for the deep stuff at weekends.

Panaracer Fire XCs for comuting duties, Tioga XC SL for the deep stuff. Both 1.8s. Tiogas are fantastic in the snow, but truely awful on any patch of bare tarmac.

Not me either. Didn't see the news, but not seen a TV camera since the Carnethy last either. Could be a library picture of me maybe?

Datatags tends not to rattle as such but make a 'slide-slide-slide-quiet-thud kind of noise' if you know what I mean. Can't hear mine when riding, but hear it move when I turn the bike upside down.

If it sounds like a small thing remove BB, seat post, forks, etc and shake vigerously, it should fall out somewhere.

Cut tube in half so you can see better, when object is removed weld back together. Note: DO NOT try this with carbon frames, they are notoriously difficult to weld.
