Bike maps are doing a pre-order offer, £15.95 inc p&p.

Used BikeMaps before too, and the service is excellent.

Penmachno is great, bit more natural feeling, lots of singletrack. No facilities whatseoever though.

It was an unprovoked physical attack. Not a tackle or anything to do with the game.

Nonsense, he was running towards the ball when McCarthy deliberately ran into him to block him off. He lashed out with his arm which is unexcusable and deserved a red card, but people are making out as if he ran over and hit him for no reason, not true.

He reacted in an unacceptable way, and was very lucky to remain on the pitch.

It is, of course, being blown out of all proportion now, because of who he is and who he plays for.

Wigan came out to look at a pothole the same day as I reported it on the website. They didn’t do anything other than paint round it, but its a start at least.

Microsoft ICE here too. Only ever had one photo it failed on, and that was a very difficult one, might try out Autostitch and see how that does.

If Eskimos have so many words for snow, its only right us northerners should have lots of words for mud :D

Allegedly its to stop posties sticking “sorry we missed you” cards through your door without bothering to try. Big boxes have to go on a van.

Not sure I believe it, but its an interesting theory, and it’d work..

Lots of people get paid this weekend.

They’ll be segregated, which makes you wonder what kind of person is kept in with murderers. He must have done something a bit extreme to get a life sentance for robbery anyway.

Worth thinking about by anyone who thinks he deserves any kind of medal.

I ramble on about bike rides a bit.

I like Lowey’s blog, he’s usually interesting and has some good blog links in his sidebar.

    Usually drive to the peaks.

There’s next to no interesting riding here, its mostly flat wide and muddy. If you’re a real adrenaline junkie theres the canal tow path, or the old railway lane…

It’s about an hours drive to the peaks, sometimes ride Rivington or Rossendale way, but if I’m getting in the car, I might as well drive a bit further.

Bit late now, but I like Sunline Thick grips.
Nicely chunky, quite sticky and seem to last ages, current ones been on well over a year and still look brand new.

I did it a few years ago, the week before christmas. As it happens, the system resets in the new year, so I only had to do one week, and we were told not to go in on the friday. Lucky really as it was the most tedious 4 days of my entire life. I was only young too, so no one even spoke to me.

I’d imagine it’d be interesting if you got on a case early on, but as I didn’t get to see any, it was just 4 days staring at the wall.

Did get a Christmas dinner one day though.

I quite regularly go out in winter in Endura socks, shorts/trousers, undershorts, base layer, jersey and jacket :o

Trout, no problem on the instructions, it’s simple enough to use anyway, although I hadn’t realised the on/off thing! Will remember that.

Ours is good, recognises me in the street if he’s got a parcel, and he’s worked out where I work so sometimes brings stuff here.

Apparently though, this is the reason CRC have started sending everything in massive boxes, means RM have to send a van with it rather than sending it with the regular postie who just shoves a card in because it wouldn’t fit in his bag.

Any officially recorded version is awful, but 70,000 people singing it on a European night is pretty special.

Yes, buy them. Expensive but very good. Very bright, very visible, and seem tough and waterproof, the demonstration I’ve seen of dropping them in a bowl of water seemed to work well anyway.

I run a fibre flare on steady on the seatstay too, and cars definetly seem to give you a wide berth.

710mm, and tbh, it doesn’t feel particularly wide. I like more open trails to tight tree lined stuff though. I did have to up the bars on my hardtail a bit once I realised how narrow the bars on that were.

Love riding on weekdays. Rode round Rowarth and Chinley last week and only saw one other biker all day. Like having the place to yourself :D

So you won’t travel to buy it, you won’t subscribe, and you won’t get an online version.

How about Chipps crawls on his hands and knees and delivers it to you personally? :D

Mine gets a clean after most rides. Last ride was pretty much frozen solid so its only a bit splattered, so i didn’t bother braving the cold to clean it, but usually its cleaned every week.

Fenwicks and a hose and it doesn’t take long.

I too think its just part of looking after a bike, give it a wash and check over and make sure its ready for when you next want to use it. That way when time for the next ride comes around, you’re not wasting time fixing things or getting filthy before you’ve even set off just putting the bike on the rack.

Apparently the link trail works better from cragg to lee as its a nice pumpy trail dropping down, park in the pub car park in cowpe and climb up into cragg, a few laps then over to lee for a play.
If you’ve never ridden cragg its a bit different from lee but still an ace trail. More rider input required to get the most out of the trail, its not as easy on the legs as ed and rowan sorrell made it look in there video last summer!
Have a good day over there, i’m jealous! Make’s me want to visit my mum in waterfoot but living in cornwall it tends to be a once a year trip, will definately bring the bike up next time though.

I’d rather park at Lee tbh, the climbs more interesting and spread out over a few sections rather than the massive slog up to cragg quarry.

And wherever you park, you’re still going to have to do the link once up and once down anyway :D

Stupid question having never used XTR shifters: Whats the difference?

Park on the road bit. Just the carpark you can’t use.

That’s more believable TJ, I’m sure that in most cases the tactics used and the resources are over the top. Problem is, I suppose, they have to be prepared for the worst possible scenario, if you’re not, then you end up with scenes like Millbank Tower.

But Elfin’s suggestions they cause the trouble is a bit too far fetched for me. Same with the accusations that that police van was left there just to get trashed on purpose, despite the fact it was full of expensive kit and officer’s personal possessions.

I just don’t buy it that the police delibrately caused the trouble, it just doesn’t make sense, by far and away the overwhelming majority of police officers I’m guessing would rather not stand in a line being pushed and shoved, having things thrown at them, and always being at risk of being dragged into the crowd and set upon. They’d much rather stand there for a bit, listen to some students sing songs and shout, have a cup of tea, then go home I’d imagine.

I think Royal Mail are catching up. Last months MBR turned up this morning, two days after this months issue :D
