they should put wind turbines on boats with sails, then they the turbines can make the wind, and blow it into the sails, saving millions of pounds in fuel costs. Awesome!

If only we could come up with a way of harnessing the power of the wind these farms generate, and turn it into electricity. We could mount them next to each other and be quids in.

Yes, I bought a cheap Blackburn pump at one of those sales that are around the country. Won't buy one again, ended up buying a replacement head that when it came was a different design. Loads of stories of problems with them. And the guage is about as accurate as squeezing the tyre and guessing.

Wish I'd bought a Joe Blow.

I always smiled at pictures of Bert after rides, or in the mag office. :(

I appear to have stumbled into an alternate universe…

Shame it isn't one where you're not a cock.

Doesn't work like that. On farms you breed or grow things, so wind farms actually breed/grow more wind. No idea how it works

I think you might be on to something, I've noticed when the turbines are turning, its usually windy. Coincidence? I THINK NOT!

I've looked at it a bit but to be honest I don't really get it.
All I see is someone responding to something that someone has said, but no indication as to what they have said. Is there some sort of threaded view that I'm missing?

I presume you're looking at someone's feed page directly?

If you have an account set up, and you are following people, you'll see on own page all the tweets that are directed at you, directed at people you follow, or not directed at anyone in particular. All the tweets that are to other people are filtered out. That means you can see both sides of the conversation if you are following both people.

Why are people so quick to declare they've never used it? As if its something to be proud of? :? :?

I think one of my old bikes had 'down-sizing' thing in the rims, so they might be available from CRC or your local bike shop.

If I was doing lift assisted alpine riding, I'd want the burliest, slackest, long travel bike I could. Not because I'd need it, but just because I could :D

Get them cut properly by a sign maker, should cost you peanuts and be much easier and look better than doing it yourself.

Last time I looked you couldn't buy proper vinyl anywhere in a shop, you'd have to sell a signwriting suppliers, and they usually sell it by the metre.

Report everything that happens to the police, every time they threaten her, everytime they go near her. Report the lot. Find out the officer responsible last time and keep contacting them. Make them know you're not happy and won't let it lie.

i will get flamed for this……….but…
find out where the girl lives, go to the house, get the father out of the house and threaten that you will beat him severly if his son/daughter goes near your child.

    it works.

It might work, or you might find that her father is a bit bigger and stronger than you, or more likely, all his family live in that street and come out to see what the fuss is, and you end up being the one severly beaten.

Or worse, they wait till your gone, and the daugter takes it out on your daughter.

Or, as said you get locked up for it.

Like I say, it might work.

the wilderswood bit you are on about Andituk, is it the one through the woods or the one between the Kennnels and the FP that Junkyard and Lowey are on about up to the road near the two lads.

The BW that drops down into the woods. Was great last time I was there, even the boggy muddy bit in the middle had dried out great :D

You can achieve a similar effect by just not changing gear, although the nichers won't understand and will get all confused.

When people say the end of cut gate, are we talking the path forking off that ends at the gate by North America, or straight on down to the woods?

Maybe they were pretending to be ramblers, hoping to avoid being bored to tears by a conversation about how much gears are such an unneccesary complication and how back in my day we all rode rigid bikes and zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Two tracks head off to your right as you look at the pigeon tower (with the mast behind you) Ice Cream Run is the left hand one. Right hand is Belmont Road. Did you do the singletrack in Wilderswood? Thats one of my favourites. Short but sweet.

Park at the Buck Inn in Cowpe and then ride up the hill across the road from the carpark marked "Top Of Leach". When you regain conciousness and/or finish vomiting, consider that pushing might have been easier, and then continue following to the path to you ride into the middle of Cragg Quarry.

Lee Quarry, turn off Newchurch Road opposite the Royal Oak in Stacksteads at the futures park next to the kitchen factory, and follow the road round to the right, turn onto the little lane and park on the scrubland to the left. Ride up the lane to the gate of the quarry.

They usually wear them so everyone is at the same level, some may be partially sighted, some totally blind etc.

I've got Piranhas and agree with thepurist, they do react well, but they're neither as dark as my oakleys or fully clear for really dark stuff. And they do tend to mist up and get moisture forming around the top.

Still the first glasses I pick up every ride though, they still work perfectly for 99% of conditions, which is better than any normal glasses.

Which is the best way to go? stay on Cowpe rd or go on the top of leach footpath?

The path to Top of Leach is the Pennine Bridleway. Follow that up and to the left and you go through the quarry.

Went up today, got utterly soaked, but enjoyed it. Only managed one lap though, so, so wet..

He hasn't got off, no ones said its ok, he's still been charged with GBH.

They've just said he wasn't in a position to know what he was doing and be in control. They've pushed him to the point he's snapped and lost control because of his mental condition.

My XPS is a cancelled order from the outlet, saved a fortune.

There was a way to find the service ID in the page source of the details and then use the Support pages on Dell to find the full details, including when it was ordered etc.

I was set to vote Lib Dem until Clegg said he'd set up camp with Cameron. Seems like a daft thing to say to me, should have kept his mouth shut, I think lots of his potential voters want something different to Labour but don't want Cameron. Should have stayed neutral.

Are you mounting it on the bar or the stem? Mines on the stem, which probably adds a bit of ridgidity to the mount.

Have to say, my Dakota is solid on the mount, its quite difficult to get off when I want to, definetly doesn't feel like it'll fall off..

"Aren't you supposed to be riding that thing?"

From an old lady as I pushed up a hill, I was ashamed.

    "Plenty of pedal power today"

From an old guy today, wasn't quite sure how to respond to that, is it a question, a prediction, a comment on the weather, I wasn't sure.

A stunning view of snow covered mountains on the Isle of Skye, with more snow capped mountains in the distance, and I can just make out two bikers descending down to the bay below.

Unfortunately thats just a poster. I'm in a windowless whitewashed breezeblock workshop just outside of Manchester.

I thought that was Winter Hill for a minute which is about 300 miles North.

    *Boring geek alert*

There were six masts of that design built, one of which being the original mast on Emley Moor which collapsed in 1969.
