Your freehub needs servicing, the bush makes that noise when its run dry or cacked up. Do it sooner rather than later cos it damages the bush and wears the bearing surface of the hub quite quickly.

Possible issue with the depth of the machining on the top of your lowers perhaps. Few folk over in the states had issues due to this, have a looky on mtbr.

Pretty easy here, used a socket and a wee bit of super slick grease to press them on.

Its the seals allowing the crud in that causes the wear, they use a wiper seal system which ain’t up to UK conditions. The Enduro seal is a proper oil seal which keeps the oil in and the crud out.

The forks are great but the seals they use are cr*p. Putting the Enduro seals on fettles the problem my forks are 2 years old and the stanchions are still perfect.

You need to go to bed earlier so it don’t wear you out, especially with a new one on the way. Most kids get up early, that’s kids.

Word on the street is the highways/police and whinlatter are currently discussing ways to stop the roadside parking due to the safety issues. Enjoy it while you can.

However, following the first meeting, discussions have taken place between the Forestry Commission and the LDNPA. It appears that the LDNPA might be prepared to contemplate granting permission for an overflow car park provided that it is part of a package that also includes measures to eliminate parking on the roadside. As a result, the Forestry Commission will submit a planning application early in August for an overflow car park in the vicinity of the Visitor Centre. Various possible schemes are being considered to eliminate the roadside parking. , They include “dragon’s teeth” on the verges, an earth bank adjacent to the tarmac and double yellow lines.

M&S cover Brick/Timber framed houses, your post got me worried so I just checked. They just don’t cover timber only construction.

    Are you taking about SX’s?

Mavic used to use 6903-2RS (1pcs), 6805-2RS (2pcs), 608-2RS (2pcs); on there 20mm wheels. Not 100% sure if the 2009 ones are this but the earlier ones defo are.

I know, but I find it hard on the fells with my Sturmey Archer gears, so I put on my tweed breeches, dubbin my leather boots, fill my vaccuum flask, put it in my haversack and head off in a wooly bobble hat

    😀

(Still prefer not to see bikes on Helvellyn though!!)

    Hayho 😛

Yep your out of date  you can if your fit enough, ride all of the zigzags on keppel cove which only leaves a 150m carry onto lower man. You can also ride all the dodds up. All the routes off are totally rideable dollywagon included. Brilliant mtbing fell, so long as the weather is right 😉 ie not much wind.

Walna scar is currently being sanitised 😥 but its still a good route… just not as good as it was.

Garburn>kentmere>Gatesgarth>haweswater>Nan Bield>kentmere>Garburn is a good one. The Bash is also excellent with all the cheaky bits added. Helvellyn via the dodds or the zigzags on keppel cove, then down dollywagon and grisedale>patterdale.

There usually marked in some way and the marks line up behind the crank arm. The big rings mark is the pin to stop the chain getting jammed behind the crank.

I tend to use my softshell gore jacket on cold winter days and my Active shell Xenon jacket when rain looks likely as it keeps the rain out better IMO. Don’t get on with goretex or event fabrics far too sweaty.

Both jackets are really good at regulating your temperature which is the most important factor, never too hot or cold. 😉

Gorebikewear softshell shuff is pretty good for most uk winter riding.
Theres some bargains to be had here 😉

It’s normal for there to be a little movement of the pads in the caliper. 1mm each way sounds a fair bit but it depends how snug the pads are in the caliper. If you have floating rotors the movement is worse as the rotor moves on its mounting and gets worse as they get older/wear.

Stu’s a top bloke and the centre is brilliant for a biking hol.

Yes they don’t allow muck to get behind the seals like the fox ones which lead to the stanchion wear. Had mine on 2 years and the stanchions are still perfect.

Stick a tube in leave overnight, stretches the tyre/bead into shape. Then just take one side off and remove tube and add your sealant. Plenty of soapy water on the open side. Goes up easy with a track pump then 😉

Yep running them with just sealant and UST ready wheels in the lakes without any trouble on the sidewalls. Have managed pinch them a couple of times but I used to get that with UST tyres too. Always happens in the wet for some reason??

Its overall fitness, strength etc really init. You can analyse cramp which ever way you wish but ultimately cramp comes about when you are riding outside your bodies comfort zone. Part of any training regime should include slower/easier miles. If you ride on the rivet all the time an get cramp etc, its counter productive as you deplete your resources every time you ride making it harder to improve.

There always very busy… the poor buggers a have got to deal with Crankbrothers aka ChocolateProducts INC. Ring um 😉

They roll fine, not the fastest but deffo quicker than the Alberts as they’re 200g’ish per tyre lighter. So I shed a load of rotating weight which is the main difference not the tread pattern.

I went from fat albert ust’s to maxxis minion F&R standard tyres setup tubeless. Way better for me in the lakes, better on wet rock better cornering grip and lighter so faster accelerating.

Have they got a adapter ring system like shimanos?

    No. Piccy here

Edit: Ha, you answered your own question. 😆

Think that’s a bit of a copy and paste error, buying options only list 6-bolt. So I guess fulcrum do both but on-one only have the 6 bolt in stock.

    anc
    Free Member

No, 6 bolt IS on mine.

    anc

I’d double check they are adaptable between 15mm and QR. Fulcrum have only recently modified their hubs to do this. My HH zeros are 15mm only and preceed the zero XRP which is the current model which can be adapted.

    anc

Got the HH zero’s from on-one, initial impressions are good, very stiff well build wheels and freehub is way better than mavic’s on my ST’s.

Koolstop salmon, couldn’t believe how much better the perform than shimano pads….. and they don’t eat you rims like shimano. Lots of shimano sponsored pros use Koolstop as they don’t like the shimano pads in the wet.
