Would blowing them out with an air hose work?

Using the air hose on each individual spoke hole if there is no other way in.

I haven’t got a clue about tubs though.

If you can find a low stack stem you can run that under the top clamp to get the bars low.

I currently use a -20 stem from an epic to bring the bars down on my current bike.

I’ve only got 20mm of spacers below the top clamp, so that wouldn’t be an option for me. I’ve picked up a +/- 10 Thomson stem, so was going to run it in the – 10 position.

    slackalice – Member
Of course!! The clamps are set at 137mm spacing. I’m with you. Thanks

    That’s cool 8)

When I get around to it, I’ll fit one 20mm spacer to tidy it up rather than have the four 5mm spacers.

Am with you with the ‘different’ requirement! If I may ask, why a negative rise stem, when you could presumably swap the spacer’s to above the existing stem?

The clamps around the fork leg are bonded in place,so the spacers are needed to make up the difference. The only way to lower the front is to fit a negative rise stem. I think the clamps could be adjusted on the older models.

Thanks amplebrew….I’m a dumbass was reading the wrong geo. looks like it will fit. I’m 5.11 so would be a medium I’d of thought.

    Thanks all

    Very nice Amplebrew

    I’d love a Lefty fork!

Im looking forward to the time I can afford to get a Lefty onto my Hummer :D. It was to be this winter, however Ive become sidetracked on another bike project instead!!

It rides really well and I like having something a bit different. I’ve just bought a negative rise stem to go on it, but haven’t got around to fitting it yet.

What size Solaris are you looking at?

A medium has a 100mm head tube which is the same as my Mosaic. If you’re looking at a medium up then there should be no issues. Even a small has a 95mm headtube, so only 5mm difference.

Here is a pic of mine with the 100mm head tube running a 2013 Cannondale Lefty 100 Carbon XLR 100mm and Lefty-4-All steerer.

You just need one of these from Qwerty Cycles.

Qwerty pretty much know everything that’s worth knowing about Lefty forks are are really helpful.

I’ve got a Lefty on my Mosaic Mt-1 which has a 100mm headtube.

Call the cops, they should turn up and if needed close off the immediate area. They’ll then probably get health and safety down to assess it and take it from there.

My wife has got a Zafira, which is pretty good for bike and dog carrying duties, but it is nowhere near as useful as a similar or even smaller size van or as easy to pack with bikes and associated bits and bobs.

Our old Kangoo van which was externally smaller than the Zafira, could fit a lot more in it.

I think you might need to get a much larger MPV to get the same storage space as even a small van.

I’m running a Peugeot Expert Tepee Leisure at the mo, which whilst being based on the Expert van; is all carpeted, soundproofed with windows and all the bells and whistles as standard. It’s just like driving a large people carrier, but was a lot cheaper than say a Galaxy.

I chap I know has a 530d tourer and he went to non RF tyres over a year ago due to the cost and he’s had no issues.

In fact, he commented that the car actually seems smoother since the change.

Looking at the pic above, it looks like it’s a completely different shade to my Paul Comp hubs

Might just be the light, will have to see it in the flesh to compare.

Looking at the PDF, they’re only producing the Tech 3’s in purple which is a shame. I was sort of hoping that they’d include the Race Evo X2’s in the new colour.

    My wife drives one

it’s so handy having roof bars on a small car.

we had a talbot rancho when I was a lad, used to have rrear facing seats in the boot, remember getting taken to school in it every day

    silver it was

very modern, as you say, ahead of its time, although mechanicals were pretty rubbish

I think Skoda might have used the Rancho for inspiration when designing their Yeti :D

I think the purple looks really great.
Where is that picture from honourablegeorge?

It’s from the Moose Cycles facebook page – https://www.facebook.com/MooseCycles

That’s really great, I’ll go and have a look.

    Thanks,

Maybe purple is an age thing, I’ve got fond memories of buying purple anodised bits for my mtb back in the day.

I’m pretty sure that Purple then gave way to blue.

Where is that picture from honourablegeorge?

I’ve been checking their FB page for an update on a daily basis as I’m after a set of purple brakes to go on a new titanium build.

I’m hoping that the purple will be a match or at least near match for my Paul Comp hubs.

Might just be the lighting, but they look a completely different shade to me :(

I see a Volvo 480 not too far away from where I live, but the poor thing has just been left to rust away in a car park. It’s sat there on flat tyres and covered in moss.

Oh also don’t be tempted to keep an insurance policy going on a bike you no longer own just to help your no claims. I can’t remember the exact details but someone came very badly unstuck by doing that.

Have a look here re that issue; it’s a link to the CBR1000RR forum.

You’d be better to try and get a new bike and then just call the insurance company up and give them the new details.

If you cancel your policy before it reaches it’s end, you’ll lose any no claims you’d built up during that particular policy.

Try going on the comparison sites to give you a rough idea on the different insurance pricing of bikes.

I’ve only ever seen one Talbot Rancho…..

I suppose it was ahead of it’s time as I don’t really recall anything similar in it’s day. Certainly no-one was driving around in mpv’s and soft roaders back then.

I’ve got a Peugeot Expert Tepee with a 2.0hdi 128bhp motor and that does early forties running around and late forties on a long run.

The best van I’ve had for real world mpg was a Renault Kangoo with a 1.5dci 68bhp motor which easily did in the fifties.

Yes, Customs & Excise deal with red diesel.

The Police usually set up a road check point in conjunction with Customs & Excise.

The Police check for drink drive, construction and use offences, no insurance and no licence etc; whilst Customs dip the tank .

It’s very common this time of year as the usual ‘drink drive’ campaigns start on the run up to Christmas.

I think I’d go for either pewter or black looking at the picture.

If the Genesis head badge was polished, I’d have gone for silver.

I’d go for black or polished silver.

It would need to be a Sotto Voce version though.

Having said that, a titanium version would also look really nice on a black frame.

Edit – What colour are the frame decals?

If the decals matched a CK colour, I could be tempted to get a match.

I’m pretty sure that Mojo can reduce travel on Fox forks.

They certainly took a set of 100mm 32’s down to 80mm for me back in 2007, albeit they were for a 26er.

I know a chap who’s got a 530d SE touring with just over 30k miles.

He’s so far needed to have the rear self leveling suspension compressor replaced and also spend £3k on major engine work after a problem with the turbo.

I think the two issues he’s had are well documented looking on the interweb.

Having said all that, it’s a really lovely car; just maybe not as reliable as you might expect.

I know someone who bought a BMW 530d SE around 3 years ago with only 16k on the clock; a 1 owner car with a full BMW service history.

He’s now done around 30k in it and in that time he’s had to have the self leveling suspension compressor replaced and recently had to have major engine work done when the car had a turbo issue which cost around £3k to repair from an independent.

I’d make sure get a warranty for piece of mind.

I ran a Race Face Ride [/url] singlespeed chainset on a Kona Unit for lots of miles without any issue.

I wouldn’t necessarily recommend the Race Face bottom bracket, but I think the actual chainsets are really good.

I’m running a White Industries ENO chainset now which is amazing, albeit dearer.

There aren’t many places you can emigrate to where you can’t be contacted.

I wouldn’t touch it unless I could speak directly with the original owner to confirm the story and the written permission is worthless as you are unable to confirm who wrote it.

Just because it’s not showing up as stolen on the HPI doesn’t make any less of a risk. It might be a friends, partners, ex-partners or bosses car that he has legitimate access to; but not ownership of.
