I tend to look at the rainfall radar map Met Office website to give me an idea.

I always carry a lightweight waterproof in my rucksack though and leave a back light attached to my bike just in case the weather turns.

So those of you who went for Duallys over Rabbit Holes, what swung it?

Purely for aesthetic reasons as I thought the Dually’s looked much nicer with out any cut outs.

I also previously had P35’s made by Velocity and the finish was really nice; so thought I’d stick with the same company.

Glad I did go with the Dually’s as the finish on them is lovely.

That one with the tree is exquisite.

What do you all use to firmly stick them on?

I’ve previously used JB Weld to mount Litespeed head badge and it’s really good stuff.

A quick search on Google brings up loads of results for the UK.

I’m still in the dark ages and running tubes on mine.

I did run tubeless a couple of years ago on another bike, but personally found it too much faff.

JRA definitely do a really great job on the wheel builds.

The Dually’s ride really well and I don’t think you notice any weight difference over the likes of say a normal size Stans.

They do look huge alongside a Stans Arch though.

Not sure if its the simplest or how it compares in price to other models, but I’ve been really pleased with my Garmin Edge 200.

There are no fancy route maps to look at or heart rate facilities and it’s pretty small in size.

It is obviously a bike computer though rather than just a recording device.

Is it any cheaper to add his as a permanent named driver rather than just for the 19 days?

My yearly premium reduced when I put my wife on as a named driver.

I bought my old Kona Unit from them and also my current Dawes Clubman and they were spot on to deal with.

They were very helpful and quick with their communication and delivery.

It is worth contacting them to check availability before ordering though, as I don’t think their website is kept up to date.

    Ah ok.

I’d have imagined that they would have been able to give you a straight refund if they’ve sent you the wrong size and can’t replace.

I’ve previously used warranty@chainreactioncycles.com or sales@chainreactioncycles.com and always got a quick reply.

    There is also returns@chainreactioncycles.com

I’m pretty sure that the warranty@ address gave the quickest response.

After having a list of serious problems with a brand new VW Transporter, I know first hand how upsetting and stressful that situation can be.

I was always under the impression that a 911 was an ‘everyday and easy albeit expensive to live with’ super car; obviously not.

    I’m just over 5ft7 with a 31.5″ inside leg and I’m running a 100mm zero degree stem and a 20mm layback post.

A 100mm stem seems to go against the grain for my size, however I find anything shorter than 100mm restrictive on long rides.

Those O’Tom twisters work ok as I can testify when a tick attached itself to my left nipple last year. My Mrs got it off with the twister but a blowtorch would probably have administered the same amount of pain!

    Ouch!! 8O

Of all the places to get a tick……..

I’ve just topped up the boys Frontline which should help.

I use an O’Tom Tick Twister which works a treat.

I used to use tick tweezers, but I found it was hard to get a good grip on the head of the tick; espcially on a hairy dog.

    They’re horrible little things.

Not too bad finding them on my Springer, but my Tibetan Terrier is another story. Thick black fur makes it a bit of a nightmare.

I’ve been fortunate enough to not get bit myself…….. yet.

    I think you’re right.

Last year was pretty bad, but this year looks like it’s going to be even worse.

There are also these ones from Wiggle which are slightly cheaper than the SRAM ones.

I run them on my bikes and I’ve found them to be really good.

They also have them for your brake hoses as well.

I’ve been running 20 psi on a P35, could go a little lower, but does feel a bit squirmy. Does anyone know if Dually 29s are in the country yet?

Yes, Duallys are in the UK.

JRA have built me up a couple of pairs.

thisisnotaspoon – Love the orange on your El Mariachi.

It’s ace, my favorite bike color by a very long way, it’s an orange with a metallic gold fleck.

Gold hubs and chain in the shed to go on it at some point, but the hubs are in some other wheels and the chains shortened for summer gearing. Forks need dropping to 80mm though as the lower headset adds quite a lot of height over the internal headset. Tempted to re-lace them into some velocity p35 rims, but already have 3 sets of 29er wheels in varying bling levels and only one 29er!

It’s lovely, definitely the nicest colour they’ve done IMHO.

The Kona Unit looks nice as well, the old style graphics Kona now use is much nicer than their previous attempts.

Here is my spaceframe SS anyway….

I think the greater the shine, the higher the maintenance to keep it that way and keep on top of general marks such as from cables etc.

That looks spot on to me.

I’m running 168’s on my Mosiac 29er hardtail and Jones diamond.

I think you’ll find that the 156’s might not give you enough clearance.

Edit- Have a look here for the Sram guidance on fitting 1 x 11. It includes the measurements of their chainsets which might give you more of an idea.

Yeah I like the red frame with Ti truss look That’s further off though!

Finger hovering over Eriksen Sweetpost purchase.

I can definitely recommend the Eriksen post, as both my Jones have one fitted.

I usually run Thomson on my bikes, but I found that the Thomson post slipped slightly in the steel frame whereas the Eriksen is spot on.

I ordered mine direct from Eriksen and never got hit with the import.

Looking at the Cervelo website, the R3 105 and the R3 Ultegra have different frames.

The R3 105 has external routing and an FK30 fork whilst the R3 Ultegra has internal routing and an FK32 fork.

I’ve not seen the new models in the flesh though, that’s just an observation from a quick look on their website.

    They’re really lovely looking bikes.

The black frames are also lovely, but I like a bit of colour.

The bike looks great, you must be over the moon with the way it turned out.

Try polishing the frame by hand using a green scotchbrite pad.

Wrap the pad around the tube and go around it rather than along it and definitely don’t polish it in circles.

I love the red diamond with the standard forks.

Biff – Does the steel diamond with standard forks allow for the fitment of mudguards and a rear pannier rack?

That Ti diamond looks fab, i quite like the purple, what is the rear hub?

Steel space frame here, love it to bits.

    Thanks Sean.

The rear hub is a Paul Comp Disc Word.

26 for sure but they may do 29 too. Go Google.

I might just give in to temptation and order a Potts fork. Either way I”ll post a pic once the fork of choice has been added.

Look forward to seeing your Type 2

I would be interested in your findings although tbh I don’t find the weight of mine (steel diamond and truss) to be a massive issue- doesn’t stop me wanting the ti buzz tho!!

The complete ti diamond feels a lot lighter to pick up and ride, but I haven’t been able to put a long ride in yet to compare the differences.

According to Jeff’s website, the ti truss is 1.83lbs against the steel version at 2.64lbs.

Chapeau sir- I love the purple !!

    Thanks 8)

The titanium truss forks are lovely and I was tempted for my steel spaceframe. It will be interesting to see what the difference is between the steel and titanium versions once I’ve got a few good rides in.

I’d got for plain black or I wonder if Steve be able to match the colour of your frame if you gave him the RAL code?

A Type 2 fork would be perfect, especially when you got hold of original decals and head badge from WTB when renovating the frame.

If I was going for off the peg rigid forks, I’d probably pick Salsa. P2’s can be pretty harsh.
