I use Turtle wax to wash off the bike, but I don't soak it in water; just lots of soapy suds 8)

I then just dry it off with a microfibre cloth and use Mr Sheen to shine it up.

I do also use a bit of GT85 as well to clean the drivetrain, then once dry, lube it up with 'purple extreme.'

I did use Fenwicks once after a mate lent me some and that was really good, brought all the dirt off in what seemed like seconds.

It was that good though, I was a bit worried about using it all the time and if there would be any issues with it affecting the finish etc.

The coast road from Applecross to Torridon is one of the nicest sections of road in Scotland – even better than the Bealach IMHO:

Isn't Applecross where Monty had his great escape? :-)

I remember a few years ago riding along the A82 past Loch Lochy, when I looked to my left and saw a Tornado jet flying really low over the water 8)

I felt just like Maverick 8)

The run from Spean Bridge to the Bridge to Skye, A82 / A87.

Instead or going all the way to Skye though, I'd suggest turning north onto the A890 to Strathcarron, over the Bealach to Applecross then along the coast road before heading through the Torridon hills to Kinlochewe, the onto the coast at Gairloch. Then Gairloch, Poolewe, Ullapool, Achiltibue, Lochinver, Durness etc.

I'll have to give that a try 8)

There's also that road that leads past the Devils Beeftub from Moffat, I thinks it's the A701.

Mine would have to be –

A86 that runs between Kingussie and Spean Bridge.

A830 from Fort William to Mallaig.

A82 over Glencoe once you've had a cake at the Green Wellie Stop, Tyndrum.

The run from Spean Bridge to the Bridge to Skye, A82 / A87.

I've got Hope X2's on my Obed, braided hoses with 160mm rotors front and back.

I used to have XT's which were very good.

I only got Hope as they're made in UK and from my own experience, easier to get parts for.

If they buggered it up they buggered it up, thats what feedback is for, i would leave it.

It would depend on how soon your wife put the feedback on, did you give them a chance to fix the problem.

Loads of companies make mistakes, it's what they do to fix them that sorts out the good from the bad.

It isn't any criminal offence as there is simply no intent, it is quite clear that the landlord is being a d*** over anything else. Sorry but housing issues like these are a nightmare to resolve, get out and find somewhere else quickly!

if his intention is to treat the thing as his own to dispose of regardless of the other’s rights

I think the landlord would have had to have left the belongings somewhere were you'd be likley not to find them for it to be classed as diposing.

It's the fact the landlord called you that has probably thrown a spanner in the works.

You can twoc a bike, but only if it's for your own use, anothers use or allowing himself to be carried on it.

Lyons – I'd call the local Police just to see what they say, then pay the CAB a visit.

    – got to disagree. If my property was removed without my consent, I'd consider it theft. I strongly recommend Lyons informs the police

Completely understand where you're coming from, but you need the intention to permantly deprive someone of their belongings for it to be theft.

The landlord called Lyons to tell him what he'd done and where the bike was left, so that intention wasn't there.

It is bang out of order what he's done, but I fear that the Police will tell you it's a civil matter.

Lyons – Have you checked your bikes and bits? Is any of it damaged as a result of it being moved?

    amplebrew

It'll be classed as a civil matter by Police, unless he's damaged any of your belongings.

Whatever else it may be, it's not theft. There's clearly no intent to permanently deprive, particularly since he phoned and said where it was, and simply entering premises isn't burglary if there's no intent to steal.

    + 1

For a burglary the Police need to prove that he entered in order steal, cause GBH or damage something. Or once inside, he then stole something or inflicts GBH.

You haven't got a theft as there was no intention to permantly deprive, so nothing has ben stolen.

However if an item became damaged as a result of it being moved, eg dropped or left out in the rain; then IMO you would have a criminal damage.

Criminal damage can be both intentional or reckless. For example, leaving an electrical item outside in the rain would be reckless.
