    Thanks rusty 8)

    What inside leg are you?

As long as I've got the standover, I might be better with a medium then and just fit something like a 70mm stem.

    Thanks again.

Just to give thebikechain a BIG thumbsup!!!!!!

My Hope adjusters arrived this morning complete with a free sweet and some chamois butter 8)

The sweet tasted fantastic, although the chamois butter left a bit if a funny after taste

I've got a Brooks B17 on my Hewitt touring bike and it took around 2000 miles of daily use and copious amounts of dubbin to get comfy.

Even after putting 1000's of miles on it, it's only as comfy as the Fizik Gobi on my Obed.

I've really only kept it on as an older look saddle suits the Hewitt more.

We unfortunately had a fatality on the Isle Of Man yesterday and the TT races don't even start until next weekend :-(

    Isle Of Man Today

Once the TT starts there are usually quite a few crashes over the 2 weeks :-(

It's ever so slightly mad 8O

I would tap an equivelent torx head with a hammer into the hole that has been made… and undo the bolt with that.

    + 1

This works really well and is the easiest and quickest way to do it.

I've just been told £90 by a local dealer, although I've only got one quote so far.

£90 might be really dear :?

Unfortunately our boy died on monday, but at least he went looking smart

Sorry to hear your sad news :-(

    That's really awful.

I take boy our dogs to get groomed at the same time and they charge me £30 for the pair as they I wash them before I go. They just have to groom them and trim nails then.

If I wanted them to wash the dogs as well, they would charge £20.00 per dog.

Something that big usually needs planning permission.

But the Ancient Monument status should cover it.

    That's perfect.

Christ, don't cut it as above. MTBing history – nice.

It does look fantastic and maybe it is a shame to cut it

That should work, although to test it, I'd slip a spacer on the stem rather than cut the steerer down.

    Good idea 8)

I've got some spacers in the garage.

I assumed you'd got the fork crown and headset to go with it. In which case, it would work in whatever frame you put the cups into wouldn't it?

I've got a bolt in crown on my RC35 fork and it should work with a standard ahead headset.

It should just be a case of trimming the steerer 2mm short of the required length, then fitting the Head Doctor at the bottom of the steerer.

errr…thats for a RC100 with the custom headset. DON'T cut it PLEASE as there aren't many of those around and it would be a total waste. Sell it on Retrobike then get one of the later pace stems.

    Do your bit for humanity

    I'm feeling guilty now!!!! :|

It should be easy to fit, all being well.

It'll seem a bit strange having the Hope Head Doctor at the bottom on the steerer

Makes the stem look really clean and simple 8)

jason mcroy's tasty red custom specialized hardtail was once described by a child as like a clown's bike, due to the multiple colours going on. wonder what made me think of that…

    it is pretty nice, tbf.

It is a bit multi-coloured

I'm just awaiting some black cable outers, black Hope headset and black handlebars to tone it down a bit 8)

I then just dry it off with a microfibre cloth and use Mr Sheen to shine it up.

    Holy crap, really?

I daren't go overboard then and tell you that I only use the flowery Mr Sheen so I'm at one with nature when I'm out 8) lol
