Which exam board is she with?

WJEC have loads of pupil centred resources to help, past papers (inc. mark schemes and examiners comments), exam walkthroughs, interactive resources, blended learning resources, knowledge organisers. All freely available.

It’s probably worth looking at your exam board’s online content.

OP here. Many thanks for the responses folks. We called into the dentist today but the person involved with enrollment is on annual leave. I’m off work for a while soon so will have loads of time to get things sorted then I hope.

I would use the bike between the dog and me. And force too if attacked. The owner of the dog would have such a tirade of ‘ advice’ from me as well. I’d want name and address and would probably report it to the police if bitten or nearly so.

All of which I would expect if my collie ever were to behave in that way.

I’m back in, having been unable to log in on either my laptop or my android phone.

Which is probably for the best because like a number of people above I was more than a bit frustrated with the repetitive breakages with the forum. But hey, my name is printed in the back of the magazine so that’s ok. (Yup, there’s a magazine and it’s usually really good ??).

Will the thumb up emoji work I wonder?

Thanks for the update. Having an idea of what’s going on is really nice to know. To be honest, I haven’t got a clue about all the clearing cache, workarounds and so, I just want a functional, reliable site and to be told that some progress is happening is a positive thing.

My Phillips has decided to stop telling me what Ch 5 has on. Ch 5 plays fine but the listings are just blank. Weird.

As luck would have it there’s a suitable Shark on sale, with pet attachments and enzyme cleaner too. Button pressed, thanks folks.

Yup, compared to Cumbria Gwynydd has a far more limited network of bridleways. There’s a bunch of trails west of Cadair Idris that might suit, plus of course the places mentioned above. The Flattyres site has some great suggestions. I especially like the trails dropping into the Capel Curig area.

South of Machynlleth there are many, many km of ‘out there’ rides to be had. Big descents but big climbs too.

I made a picnic table, restored an old pair of cast iron bench ends and made a little table from a road sign. I’m not sure what to do with a bit of tree trunk that I have routed our skyline into. DSC_1053

If anyone is passing Church Stretton the CoOp usually stocks Export Guiness (yummy) Guiness Zero (almost as good) and their own bottled chocolate stout which I really like.

The problem is that I live two hours away, so if you can drop off any of the above, esp. the export to me here in Carmarthenshire I would be very grateful.

TroutWrestler has it. Having seen it from both sides as a HoY and a parent I can confirm that it’s spot on.

@Cougar. I reckon that you know that I was making the point that there was no (apparent to me) reason to state the ethnicity of the thieves in this situation (a comment on a mostly MTB-based website). It is surely entirely irrelevant but maybe I’m wrong.

@wally, many thanks for the PM. I’d reply privately if I could work out how to do it.

Thank you all for the reassurance re: sensation. It’s the smells that I am uncertain about I think. I know it’s going to be worth it though- I’ll be able to walk again. OMG.

Is the ethnicity of the thieves pertinent here? What about your colleague’s grandson’s skin colour? You forgot to mention it.

Thanks for all your good wishes folks, it means a lot. At the pre-op assessment this morning they told me that I’m not having a general anaesthetic but an epidural and a sheet will be put up so I can’t see what’s going on. Apparently I will be very ‘woozy’ but not unconscious. OH MY WORD, mega stressed now! Will I be able to hear, smell what’s going on? Will I get headphones?

What tunes for a full hip replacement? Obvs a bit of Hip-Hop by MC Hammer…

Weirdly, he is exactly one day older than me.

All associated with being abroad in my case.

First one was turning onto a dual carriageway late at night in rural Germany in 1991. I was turning left onto the dual carriageway and turned straight into the wrong carriage way. Properly scary moment but no other traffic around. I spotted that error after about 20 metres.

Second one was in Iceland on a dirt road in the far northwest perhaps in 2008?. They have a cute habit of sometimes putting signs in the middle of the road on blind humps to show you where to be as you crest the rise. A lot of the times the roads are deserted and people drive in the middle or wherever the best surface is. Seeing the sign sort of reminded me that having been driving on the left side of the track was a silly thing to have been doing.

Most recent was in 2010 in Bracknell where, after a summer in the Alps, I somehow managed to drive the wrong way around a roundabout and ended up nose to nose with another car where I pulled sharp right up a leafy footpath. Again, no damage done but potentially nasty.

In all cases I had passangers.

Being allowed to drive again during lockdown was eye opening. All road sense seemed to have evaporated.

Del you are a cheeky get!

As a family we may be slightly less ‘athletic’ but I’d not say that I’m smuggling woks tbh!  Both sons have HUGE beards but myself, no. Mrs Ambrose is very un-hirsute too.

Mrs A is currently using up her TOIL with a sea kayaking course in Dorset followed by a weekend in Cornwall; all prior to time off looking after MaxieDog. I’ll fend for myself I suppose. #victim, #actuallyshesblumminbrilliant!

Additional information: It was me who rehomed the dog, feeds the dog, takes the dog out for rides, throws balls for the dog, buys the dog food, grooms the dog, feeds the dog, stimulates the dog with new skills, sings (yup, really) with the dog, dances with the dog and so on and on and on. He adores MrsAmbrose, but I’m just a servant in his eyes. Such s life.

TBH I cannot stand the bloody things. They are SO intrusive. I consider any users who are flying them anywhere in such a way that they impinge on the general public to be incredibly selfish and entitled, whatever the Law says.

I’d suggest that for many people a drone is a bit of a fad, much like action cams. People buy them thinking that they’re going to get some great footage but it seldom comes to fruition. At least GoPros etc are nice and quiet.

If I was a Freeman of the Land would I be entitled to shoot down a drone? AFAF, obvs.

Perhaps spot treatment with biological washing liquid at 40 degrees might work. Is the fluid latex based?

On a similar note, can anyone suggest a removal method for well dried/ cured expanding foam? Several washes and efforts with cellulose thinners have been fruitless :-(

@del, we arived after the start but got most of Orbital. As you say though there was some stuff new to me. By the time Leftfield came on I was properly revved up and loving life. If you were the bloke in the bogs in the yellow barbour jacket I appologise.

Leftfield were spectacular, it was good to see some instruments being played although I thought ‘Melt’ wasn’t their best version. Son #1 was there, he’s in the industry and reckons there was a technical problem. Needless to say I’ve been blasting out both bands all day today :-)

Anyway, my next gig will be in a smaller venue with no ticketmaster involvement.

And there’s the rub. If you want to see the gig what’s the alternative to Ticketmaster?

Who is it that chooses TM as the purchasing conduit? I went to see a gig in Cardiff last night. I made the decision to buy the tickets last May after seeing them advertised on Facebook. The bands Orbital and Leftfield made the decision (probably via their management)to tour, to use the Utilita Arena in Cardiff and obviously to accept my money. Who makes the decision to use Ticketmaster? Could I have purchased directly from Orbital? Leftfield? Utilita?

The additional charges seem to me to be extraordinarily high. It’s all on-line payments nowadays so afaik all you are paying for is a bit of simple coding. If it was a bit more transparent about what the fees were for I reckon that I know Yr9 pupils who could step up to the mark and write it. And anyway, once written it only needs an event specific tweak each time.

Thieves they are, but they have us over a barrel until venues and performers do something about it.

@del, I hope you had as good a time as we did :-D

It was a bit of a family trip, the first time we were all together at a gig in years. No1 Son works in the industry so usually treats me to surprise ‘hey Dad, what you doing tomorrow night? I’ve got us passes to (insert band of choice here) moments so it was nice to treat him.

Anyway, Orbital and Leftfield were properly delivering the goods (apart from ‘Melt’, what was that all about???).

Mrs A had to dip out towards the end, noise, lights and tiredness were starting to be a bit of a trigger.

Earplugs you say? I used a pair of Screwfix specials for the first half but went commando for the second. My ears are definitely ringing now. The others used decent earplugs No1 Son had spare although Mrs A couldn’t get them to stay put.

Whilst wearing mine I could still hear the music, it was quieter. The big bass feel in the air was still there obviously.

I’m 62 so have lost a load of ability to detect high frequencies fwiw.

Lovely moment at the end, as we walked away from the gig, Son #2 hands me a Leftfield tee he bought for me from the merch stall. Which was nice :-D

    @everyone
, thank you for the pics. Me and the pooch are off to Cwmyrhaedr tomorrow for a quick spin before meeting family for a pub lunch. With a bit of luck the weather will be fine for sitting outside, gazing at the hills.

Mine have just arrived. I’m 1.92m tall, so went for the XXL. They seem to be really well made and feel great on my legs. The olive colour with the orange touches looks great. However they are way too short for me and as for the ankles- they are so tight I was slightly concerned about tearing them when I tried them on. There is a stretch panel to deal with this but even so I was a little worried and it took two of us to take them off.

It’s a distinctive look that some people might like but they are not for me.

Re:firelighters. I keep all my oily rags etc from diy in a container that I pour oil into from pots of olives and sun dried tomatoes etc. The oily rags make great firelighters.

Normally through the (previous) year I’m able to forage enough firewood locally but this year I’m going to have to buy some for the first time in years :-(

I love a good hat. If you want to get ahead get a hat they say.

I’ve just this evening had a ‘phone call from my nephew and my niece to say thanks for their orange and red ‘Radar’ hats.
