Speaking of insurance . . . . Our house hold insurance only covers items in the garage up to a max value of £2k. What with bikes and other sports gear in there, can anyone recommend a company that does insurance for sports equipment while at home and during transport.

Yep. Had the same experience for the first time earlier this year at the same barber i've been going to for years. Gave the bloke a horrified look and politely declined.
Sad fact is, I went home and trimmed them myself. Seems the older I get, hair appears where I don't want it and disappears from where I do. Don't really want to join my wife at the waxing salon to my back done.

Motorway speed limits will only ever be reduced – not increased.
Aracer – Not only will every single slip road and junction need altered, every single sign, gantry and safety barrier will need replaced.
The lengths of a slip road is designed to allow safe braking from the time you leave the motorway to the junction at the end (although there are a few instances where this is not the case).
Signs are designed so that you can read them from a given distance while travelling at 70mph, all to do with speed / time / distance travelled / reaction.
Although safety barriers are tested at speeds greater than 70mph, they can't be guaranteed to work if hit at greater speeds. The cost of replacing all of these throughout the country would be in the £billions.

When I moved into my own flat, I did the usual bloke thing of buying microwave meals. That lasted two days – I hate eating crap food. Sister gave me a Chinese and Indian cook books as a flat warming present at the time and I picked up from there. Now years later, I have a cupboard full of spices and even my wife tries her hand cooking a curry from scratch.
Can't beat the spice aroma that hangs for a couple of hours afterwards.

Had screws in my foot holding metatarsals together a few years ago. These had to be removed in case they broke between the bones. Needed a general anaesthetic, but was in and out in a day. Be warned, if the screws have been in for a few months, then the bone will have grafted onto the screws. It will probably hurt after the anaesthetic has worn off.

Try Admiral Insurance. They do a good deal on insuring two vehicles in the one household.

Shaped insoles. I had the same problem and this works for me.

MTB is my No.2 sport, waterskiing is my passion – set a new PB on the slalom course today at 34mph.
    Snowboarding / skiing during winter.
Gave up Kung Fu due to injuries.
Gym work during the week as there are no trails near home.

Bike round the mediaeval wall, park up and spend the rest of the week eating, drinking and staying cool with loads of icecream. 8)

One of the more technical of the 7stanes, almost up there with Inners and definitely better with a full sus. Good variation throughout the trail, although some parts are often washed out "that bit down to the river with the bermed g-out thingies".
Not good for trying to make the step up to red graded trails, esp for my missus who thinks the blue run is too easy even for kids.
Personally, I really like all the natural trails and features but could use a bit more single track if the FC have some time & cash to spare.

Get an oil burning lamp and fill it with citronella oil. Easier than dousing the family in Avon skin cream.
