We have 2 rads in ours.. A half height one at the far end and a normal one just inside the door.
Was still freezing though so have resealed the windows and doors, fitted insulation and plasterboarded the ceiling and firewall between the properties, and fitted a subfloor and lino instead of the ceramic tiles..
Much less drafty and feels much warmer already.

Got my x2 from lightmalls yesterday.. arrived in a small, plain cardboard box. Looks ok but quality not as good as my basic light bought a couple of years ago from mtbbatteries.. Head unit looks ok but a bit low-rent. It does kick out a hell of a lot of light going by my back garden nighttime test. Don’t have a meter to check the battery charger’s performance but for the money its not bad at all. Suppose I can use my old battery and charger if needed or get new ones from mtbbatteries!

I honestly dont know what the term “Spacker” means.. obv derogatory but is it that bad?

I had the same thing with an mtb batteries light and chsrger.. I assume the green led just shows the battery is fully charged.. I’m guessing more folk will be on soon just to say the same.
Have got one on order from lightmalls so glad to hear the seller is being reasonable!

Had some grip issues on my first focus.. back end stepping out on wet bends.. fitted decent new tyres and it cornered great after that funnily enough.
Made sure when we bought our latest one it had four good quality tyes on.

Had an 06 and now a 10 plate 1.6 petrol hatch. Great cars.. first one needed an alternater, a wheel bearing and normal service stuff in 70k miles. The one we have now is a zetec so nicer alloys and comfier seats but otherwise just as good. With decent tyres it handles well, has loads of space for the four of us (including loong holiday trips) and its reasonsble on fuel. We have bought a roof box as we had to transport a pram and travel cot to our last holiday but that just meant I was able to get a roof mounted bike carrier. Although it swallowed 2 (three at a push) full sussers, riders and kit the roof carrier is just so much quicker and cleaner.
Im sure golfs and civics are good too but cant comment on them as ive only driven one or two..

Just renewed with m amd s. One bike specified at three k, plus engagement ring at 4k, and pp out the home of 2k.. did a compare and could get similar for less money but not with the same limits so upped the xs as prev noted knocking £60 off bringing closer to the compared quotes..

It was pretty drafty to be honest so im not to concerned about air circulating.. if I get a couple of years out it I’ll be happy I suppose!
    Cheers for the suggestions folks!

Wooden battens between it and the roof to keep the air moving.. hopefully.
Like I said.. wish id just bought kingspan or something but money and time were tight.
If I have to do it again in a few years thats the way I’ll go and get a plasterer to skim it properly this time!

Wrightyson.. aye saw that but wasnt sure if it was only to be used with yhe rest of the sytem..?
Ski, sorting some pics now.. will have a look on screwfix for the thread where the guy did it with the alu framed one..

To be honest mate its still the polycarb roof thats on there.. have made sure its totally watertight though.
Reflective foil attached to the underside, bit of an airgap then 150 foil blanket loft insulation we had spare between joists, then foil-backed plasterboard attached to form a vaulted ceiling. Skimmed it yesterday but didnt do a great job so still some sanding to do. Could have used kingspan or something similar for insulation but money was tight and had the loft stuff spare. Its an old wooden framed wickes one so needs the outside maintained but meant it was easy to screw stuff onto it.
I saw a thread somewhere on thr web where a guy had done something similar but in a alu framed one.. reflective foil, lightweight kingspan (or similar) then pvc cladding boards… looked good actually!

A friend took the roof off his, built the top up by about 9 inches using wooden battens bolted together then strapped to the garage wall on both sides, then built a new roof with a steeper pitch so he had somewhere to store his wood. He had to get rid of the old asbesdos roof anyway and was wanting to use it as his workshop..shouldnt be massively difficult to do something similar- door wise I doubt you could re-use your existing up and over.. see if you coulf get a taller 2nd hand one or build some sturdy wooden ones yourself?

Aye. Something similar happened to me, tennant went to shelter when we issued eviction notices after no rent for three months. Shelter told him just to squat as legally we couldnt do that. Pretty sure he didnt mention to them about not paying the rent..

So the private sector wins- yaaay! Before you talk about pensions the offshorr guys can sometimes claim tax back, get bonuses and other financial incentives that more than make up for not having a “gold plated” pension.
Agree with the PR comments though. The fireys are always very keen to get pts details from us. Have been at jobs where someone walks out to the ambulance without any help and the next day the story in the paper was that they pulled someone out and gave first aid prior to the ambulance arrived.
Dont get me wrong, I wish the ambulance service/s were as proactive but they just aren’t very good at promoting themselves..
