Andy, I’m full carbon at the back. I’m not out as much as I used to be, maybe 2 or 3 times a month. Not into downhill as such but it handled the big drops at omega man, caddon bank etc.. fine, just sucked them up and kept going. I have heard of a lot of snapped rear ends (at the seatstay/chainstay junction) but mine has been fine.. Think yeti are generally good on the warranty front too although I guess no one wants to find that out.
Not sure what the issue is with the carbon/alloy back ends on crc though?

I’ve had no issues with Mud clearance and I’ve been out in some shocking weather with it.. Last 2 rear tyres have been mk2.25 and NNs the same size. No issues with tyre rub, mud room etc.

I’ve not noticed any major rear flex issues on my 575. It squealed a helluva lot when I had elixirs on though. Got m4s and the shop made sure the mounts were faced etc… Much better. Cracking bike, I went from my 04 enduro to it and it’s great. Just as good a climber, as light, and more gnar on the downs and drops.. And the enduro wasn’t bad to start with.
In other words, I would recommend the 575.

I got the exact same response.. Weird eh!!
Would have thought there would have been more about it on here.. Was that the case when Peaty won it??

If you call to enquire they’ll prob keep a record of it.. Most do. Just in case you “decide” to upgrade your policy or claim in the future. Used to get a lot of that but then I worked in the fraud dept.. You’ll prob have ad cover to home entertainment items whilst at home, or outside if you have personal possessions cover outside the home.
If you want to check the details of your policy you should be able to look at the policy wording or exclusions on line as well as your renewal notice will give basic info on your cover. If you’ve already made a claim and it put your policy up expect more of the same only more.
Not sure what your insurers underwriting dept are like but you’ll prob be looking at an increased premium/increased xs for similar claims or poss both!
Prob still worth claiming for tho.

It’s a hard and sometimes thankless job usually. Was talking to a coupla boys in a patrol car the other night, I knew things were bad for them, but had no idea how bad things were till I talked to them. Hard times.
Not sure how the Snp will handle the reorganisation into a single force either.. Methinks there will be much budget fudging!

Thought long and hard about it a few years ago. Have a few friends who
I spoke to about it a lot, ended up joining the ambulance service. Still a lot of crap to deal with, not as stressful though although the pay isn’t quite as good, and I’ll have to work to 67 to get my pension. Can’t wait to be lugging folk down 4 flights at 67!! (cos we’re not classed as an emergency service). A bit less chance of getting stabbed though which with a young family is a good thing!
Hours are just as bad, still get to use lights and horns and get on well with most of the cops I meet.
    Happy days.

I have techs, not races. Have just had an email from the chap explaining that the items fit hope race brakes, not tech.
I did not read the advert correctly, so am now a fud.
I will be responding to the sellers email now to advise the above and apologise.
Anybody wanna buy a set of hope race matchmaker brackets?
Going cheap in the hope that I can at least salvage something from this whole sorry affair.

Rickos, was not aware they were different, I’ve never used SRAM shifters so I’m not familiar with the mounts!
Junkyard, im not sure if they’re not someone’s decent attempt at a homebrew but with a school boy error on the clamp angle..
Here’s a pic if anyone’s interested (prob not)..

Edit, I only have revs, and they’re on the bike already.

Er, what is a two legged justice maker btw, is this a penis gag?
Part of me hopes he sees this and just does the right thing!!
Petty, probably. But he knows he’s at it!

Guy was fairly prolific, esp on classifieds, nothing since last Thursday.. He was quick enough responding when asking if they’d been posted, a few hours later the same day no response when I emailled again.
Did look at the different brackets but was only when I got them I realised the angle of the shifter mounts is cack. Doubt very much it would work with any shifter, SRAM or Shimano!!
Emailled twice since last Thursday and no response, think the person knew fine well the item wouldn’t work with anything.. Doubt it’s sellable on here or if I’d want to..
Have thought about hijacking threads, need some to start with tho!!

Hs, reckon if it was a genuine mistake he might have got back in touch to say that?
Totally accept I should have done a bit more checking but at the same time if someone is selling something you’d expect them to know what it is they’re selling, or at least say they don’t..

That was pretty much my thoughts.. Wasnt sure if there was anything official that could be done, that’s all.
Looked through the rules after I posted that and came to the same conclusion.
Itll be a week on Thursday evening and considering he responded promptly enough when I emailed thurs morning to check they’d been sent I think he’s at it.
It’s only £14s worth but I’m fairly sure he knew about the issue prior to posting them.
Oh well. Will be outing shortly I reckon..

Tech m4s here, much better than my elixir rs and my old deore 575s.. Mind you, the deores went about 4 years without being touched, and still worked after being turned upside down!
Apparently the hopes need set up right. Mounts faced etc.. Got a mech to do it and they have been flawless in all conditions on my575.

The Glasgow ring road eh? Bonkers!
But Prob not as bonkers as a £1bn trainset!!
To be fair, that amount of money could prob have done a lot more than just dual ing the a9!!!

No mate, I’m sure there prob have been at some point. That’s the nature of any armed conflict I guess. You seem intent on stirring things tho- noticed you did something similar in response to someone else’s post earlier in the thread.
The guys dead. I think he prob did some good with his life throughout it. I don’t know everything about him and his career so was mostly making reference to the storming of the Iranian embassy. You appear to think the opposite and wish to disagree with anyone who does.. Fair enough. Thank goodness we live in a country where that’s perfectly acceptable.

(edit) I guess my contention is that neither of us prob really knows what he got up to in his professional career. But I guess he prob did his best to do his job as best as he could. And that that prob made a difference in the grander scheme of things. For that, I think he, and anyone else that does the same, deserves respect.

Whatnow? Really? Jings, I was not aware of that! Suppose I’ve never felt the need to measure the back qr though..
Oh well then. That’s that sorted out.

Seosamh77-you commented that” Many innocent lives would have been lost as a result of the job in front of him and others, is that acceptable?”
I was only referring to the ones I know about, and the terrorists that day weren’t innocent in any way IMO.
Do you know the details of the innocent lives that were lost as a result of him doing his job? I doubt it.
Fair enough, you’re not a fan of him of his colleagues and their actions.. But I don’t feel that’s justification
for a sweeping generalisation about all the innocent lives lost..
    Jeezo!

Seosamh77, I wasn’t wanting to get into a big debate about the use of the army, our foreign policies over the years or such. I’m not pretending that I know his full service record and making a judgment on the guys life on that basis..
Innocent? I don’t think anyone of the terrorists in the Iranian embassy that day were very “innocent”.

    althepal

Jeezo, you can have a big debate about whether or not we should have the Sas, the army, nuclear weapons, whatever! At the end of the day, all the above have helped defend our country against various enemies, either domestic or foreign.. I’m not a big fan of celebrating the sacrifice of the “glorious” dead or any shite like that but the guy did the job in front of him the best he could, and lives were directly saved as a result.
For that, I think the guy (and others) deserve respect.

XML light from smudge, would be cheaper from dealextreme but would take a lot longer to get here and unsure if it comes with a uk charger and what the warranty dept would be like!
IMO a good priced light to start with and if you get the night time bug you could invest in another one!
Sure other folk will follow telling you to buy hope, exposure or to build your own!

Back on topic for a bit (feel I’ve earned it after reading the last 6 pages..) but there’s a few things contributing to this, economically: the fact that the % of folk (was gonna say working class but that’s prob not fair) nowadays that arent doing more physical manual type labour has to have decreased dramatically. Poss due to the death of widespread manufacturing/heavy industry that we used to have?
Societal: folk dont really give a shit about much these days… No sense of personal responsibility.. Ie, if I can’t “get” a job, I’ll get onto benefits, if I want to drink myself into a stupor everyday before lunchtime, someone will come along and pick my vomit and shit stained torso out the gutter and take me to hospital, if I want to eat shite, fatty foods all day every day, well, then I’ll be obese and I will need to claim more benefits, utilise the Nhs and generally drain the country’s resources!!

Amb Service. Will always be work for us but money is starting to get tight. There’s been a lot of issues in the workplace that have just been dealt with using sticking plasters rather than curing the bigger problems. The recent meal break issue is a prime example. Slightly perturbed that 90 day notices of contract termination and potentially being rehired on less money/poorer t&cs are being seriously talked about..

Epicsteve- Corstorphin resident unhappy with something? That’ll be a first!! It won’t run down Corstorphin road but can you imagine the outrage there would have been if it did! How would they have been able to drive to work if they were taking months (I’m guessing) digging up the road to instal the tracks??
Looking at the route tho, it’s only about a 5 to 10 min walk from Corstophin rd isn’t it? I suppose the fact that it only goes to Haymarket does render it pretty much useless for everyone, tourists and residents alike!! Unless your office is across the road from Haymarket that is!!
Interested to know where the bridge to nowhere is in Glasgow though? Is that the off ramp south of the Kingston bridge for what was orinally supposed to be where the m74 joined on? That’s the only one I can think of.. Or possibly the pedestrian bridge that stretches over the northern end of the M8/Kingston bridge but only reaches the ground on one side?

£750 million for this??? Was gonna take a pic of where the track stops for no reason at the junction with Waverly bridge but just couldn’t be arsed. It’s literally just round the corner from St Andrews square though- what an utter shambles…
