Think there is guidelines about this.. Remember it being 2 hours last year when my boy was one but even then think we went over that when we drove from glasgow to hull. He did sleep the first few hours and we did have a couple of long breaks en route.
I wouldn’t worry about it too much. As long as the seats a good size/fit and you take a break at some point for everyone to get out and walk about.

Removing the windows and using matchmakers sorted out my lever/shifter/grip interface problem nicely.
Once I’d got the right matchmakers..

4 XML lamps getting decent reviews, whatmtb rated another one highly.
Failing that smudge from MTBbatteries does a good one, uk warranty, good back up etc. I’d recommend him.

[Not at the price we wanted to pay for it though, hence the need for regime change. Best to have a nice docile Western friendly puppet state for to supply cheap oil, innit?]

like we (us and America) did with iraq, Iran etc?

Tj, fair nuff. I was tying the 37.5 thing into the fact we’re not paid for breaks and if our working week was increased to 40 hours the disturbance payment issue wouldn’t be a problem. But the fact it’s standardised across the Nhs means it’ll be difficult.
This seems to be opening up into a wee debate about a lot of things. Highlighting the petition here is my way of trying to stimulate a discussion about one particular issue that changing our status would effect. Just trying to highlight the issues we’re having at the mo mate.

    althepal

Hold on.. What report is this? Totally agree with woodys comments.
Tbh drac, yeah, I realise the petition isn’t ideal, but thought it was a good vehicle to try and inform a few about what’s goingnon, rather than just having a rant about it and largely being ignored apart from the folk giving me 2 out of 10 or something.
I’ve got quite a few friends in the other 999s and I know we’ve all got good, bad, and shocking points about them as well as us. Nothing againt fireys, why, one of them even waved back at me on the way toa job last week!

Union wise, yep, agree. We’ve got a cracking rep in our station, just not too sure what’s going on at a national level. I also have zero confidence in my service when it comes to them looking after our needs.. There’s only onething they care about, possibly two if you add orcon into the mix!

Aye, always pluses and minuses.. Guessing bruneep might be going to jobs in a big red engine? Also guessing his rate of pay is significantly higher than mine to compensate. and I mean for folk that are relatively new to the job. Not folk that are twenty years in service and have salaries to match!
Yep, we do ok with unsocial and ot and the likes. A lot of the older lads are quite happy to tell me what it was like working 8 hours without a break then not being paid ot for being kept late. I’m not necessarily saying that afc was a bad thing, I’ve worked in the Nhs on and off for about 17 years so know it had to be done for various reasons.
The main thing I’m trying to highlight is that we’re not an emergency service and that we’re not paid for our breaks. Fed up with folk saying we should be going out during breaks like the other emergency services when they aren’t aware of all the issues involved!

    althepal

That seems like a lot? Where you based? I thought 25k was a healthy milage for what adds up to about 6 months on the road after breakdowns. We had a specific issue with our ford, apart from the lacklustre brakes I quite enjoy driving it. Whether it’ll be as good as the mercs or vws remains to be seen..
Breaks wise, I stick to my comments above about disturbance payments.. How do the police and fireys get past that issue then?
I am also on my iPhone.. Pita but much easier than sitting with my laptop with my wee boy on the couch beside me!

Dick, its mainly the fact that we’re not an emergency service that I’m trying to highlight. We used to be paid for a 40 hour week including breaks but when agenda for change came in our week was reduced to 37.5 hours. Mostly to fit in with a 12 hour day but also (I’m guessing) to also reduce wage costs.
As it stands just now we’re not technically at work when we’re on our break because we’re not being paid for it. I wholly accept the nature of the work and don’t want disturbance payments. It’s a sly way for the service to have us available during our breaks without actually paying us for them!

Ps, meejha, I know that, but at least it might help folk realise why we’re het up about losing our breaks. ESP since I read we can be disturbed more than once a shift but will only get one disturbance payment a day!

Druidh, yep, they do, and as impotant as getting a boiler repaired properly is, im guessing british gas engineers dont work 11.5 hours a day 7 days in a row??
Drac, my stations newest wagon is a 60 plate admittedly, but it’s got 25 k on it already and has had to go back to ford twice already for major repairs. All the rest are about 5 or 6 years old with a coupla 03s.. All the rest are approaching 200 k.. Trust me, it’s been mentioned to management and mostly in response we get shrugs.
In the main though, it would sort out the current break issue, which I can see dragging on for a fair while yet.. If they just paid us for a full 40 hours like other emg services rather than the 37.5 this wouldnt be such an issue..

Thought for a sec there you were talking about the mag. Lol.
Anyways, I would say the vid was quite overtly sexual in a lads mag kinda way but only in a deliberate attempt to grab the viewers attention before delivering a quite useful mention.
I can understand why someone might complain about it but I think it’s fine. It’s not intended to be sexual in nature, just to make the target audience think it is.
    Oh well..

5 sounds good, even better with a 75 after it.
If you can wait a few months there should be some killer deals kicking about once the SB66 starts filtering through.
If you can get a 2010 one with tapered headtube and the improved carbon swingarm then great.
I have a late 09 one and even without those refinements it’s the bees knees.
    Sounds right up your street.

Coupla busy places down at Albert dock. Think one was a vodka type bar? Rammed at the weekends, but a bit up on themselves.. Was there for a stag weekend a few months back. Think I asked on here..
There was a street near the city centre, not far from the cavern club, also rammed at weekends but more the easyjet end of the spectrum.. Only place I’ve been to that had 90s revival bars!!

Well, read through it all and yes, kiwidaves post is enlightening and honest. Fair play to him.
With regards to the OP, I think she/he has every right to come on here and comment on anything they like, especially something bike related! I’ve read plenty of MC/Mrs MCs posts over the years and theyve always seemed reasonable in the past. It does sound like they didn’t have the best week possible, and if it was me paying money I’d probable say the same thing.
In saying that though, using the word “shambolic” in the title kinda sets the tone for the OPs attitude to this in general. Yes, things obviously weren’t as good as they should have been but that’s not completely Alans fault is it? One of the things that folk seem to like about SC holidays is how chilled out they are. That’s obviously reflected in how they reacted to some of the issues.. What comes out of MCs posts is that they were expecting a tightly run, well oiled holiday and they didnt get it. Perhaps the mindset of the two parties are just too different and that’s what’s led to a public airing of dissatisfaction and possibly having the post of the year on our hands.

Er, it kinda passed me by 17 years ago.. Was just a young lad away from home for the first timeconcentrating on chasing student nurses mainly… Most of my socialising revolved around the Jimmy Shand or the Venue in Dundee.
Cracking soundtrack, not sure about the different colours but like the animated curassow.. Also seems to have influenced a lot of stuff we get nowadays.. 300, kill bill etc. Albeit those would prob be in the same genre..

Prob depends on the type of tenant you want in and their attitude/outlook. Ten years ago in my mid 20s that would have been fine, fun even. Space is good.
But now I’m a bit more grown up, older etc, nah not for me. Not long term anyway..
I would say if that’s all you’ve got and space is poss an issue, say that to prospective tenants, but if it’s a deal breaker, you might need to shell out for a more conventional single or double..
I lived in rented rooms in different places through most of my twenties so have a bit of perspective on this!

Baby born, house not finished, as expected.
Now all we need is Kev at the end saying how unconventional it is, but in the context of the landscape the mixture of materials, light and space perfectly reflects and suits the needs of the fussy/individual/over-rich *****.

Noticed that too.. Damn you attention to detail, damn you!!
Thought dibbs was overplayed and trite but I suppose with Doc Martin you’re aiming at the lowest common denominator tho..
Louisa Glasson tho… It helps doesn’t it!

Boo!! I have no issues with being “sat on” the bike, 6ft, 12.5 stone, feels much plusher and has better give than my enduro.. My mate had a go at GT, he’s about 13 and a bit stone but he commented that he felt “in” the bike more than his fsr stumpy.
I was very concerned about the yeti stays after reading reviews, horror stories on yetifan etc, but I’ve had no problems in nearly 2 years of decently gnar riding. For every snapped stay story theres a happy one, and those that have gone have almost always been sorted with no probs.. Yeti owners love them for a good reason!
That said, my xbox just packed up after 7 years so who knows!!
    (Yeti! Yeti! Yeti! Etc)

Nowhere near you but work 7 on, 7 off. I mostly have my 2 yob (mumsnet speak there apparently) most days when I’m off. Really wanted a trailer to poodle round the local loch but would mean 5 min on a main road so wife wasn’t keen.. Swimmings always good, our local library has bounce and rhyme which was good for a mornings entertainment. Soft play is a chance for a short break too.. Can sorta leave the wee man to it for a bit and have a coffee…
