I know batfink, already have asthma and that’s bad enough at the mo.
Have met a few folk affected by it through work and am properly scared by it/respectful of what it can do.
That’s why I’m wanting it tested.
Ta for the link Graham. Although its not working so will google it.

I can always get a suit from work snd get a decent mask I suppose. Can hold my breath too!!

I know the boards have beveled edges for taping and skimming..? So those should be facing out?

Wish id never sold my 2001 one.. Cracking little hardtail. A bit garish at the time in brilliant white and red but what goes round come around. Sold it to fund an sworks enduro. As noted above, was my first proper “grown up” MTB. Sniff.

I think the use Of the word “fat” wouldnt be advisable..
Think you just need to man up and have an honest, adult conversation about it.
    No easy way else really.

Tend not to go rifling in pockets etc unless we really have to.
Should all be bagged up and passed to A/E at handover. They should then make a note of them.
Sounds like the OP wasn’t really with it after the accident.
These things happen, without knowing all the ins and outs think he needs to focus on getting back on feet/bike/insurance co.

I’m guessing the oakleys would be a sizable chunk of the £500 though?

I’m guessing that V8, whilst being quite honest in his responses here, wouldnt be the kinda guy to disrespect a Pts wishes. Just not worth the potential hassles/possible sack these days.
I can understand where he’s coming from though- seen folk cut of of totalled cars after wrapping themselves round various objects and afterwards complaining about the fact we had to cut their designer jeans to check how bad the break in their femur is!
Sympathise with the OP but should all be fairly easy to claim for the items through home insurance in light of the circumstances..

If its possible to get leathers/kit off without causing further harm or injury I would usually give it a go. If there was anything spinal possible I prob wouldnt be giving you much choice even if you were still able to respond at all. Dont really like taking chances with folk’s spines y’know!
Saying that, myself, and I’m guessing most of my colleagues up here in Scotland almost always bag up anything cut off or discarded and place it in a bag, which is then given to the A/E after the handover and initial cleanup that usually happens at the hospital.
I’ve had to go from one side of the city to the other a couple of times to return Pts property before so generally we’re very careful about that sort of thing.
Think the A/E is the best bet.
    Ps- get well soon.

Done it from Mid Sannox a coupla times but a decent bit of scrambling up to the ridge. Think there’s a coupla routes up Glen Rosa at the Brodick side but if you’re not wanting anything too rough for the missus you’re as we’ll just heading up the main tourist rout.. It’s still rough in places and will require a bit of work.
Great summit on a clear day. Must have been about 20 years since I’ve been up there though!

Shit on shit actions.. Pretty much agree with all of the above that both parties look like idiots. Although turning round and doing that to camera guy is just idiotic.. Funny when the camera man tells him it’s all on video and he turns round to one back and get it..

Just fitted a bb mounted stinger and hope bash to my xt cranks.. Pretty easy if you’ve got all the tools. I had to get the right torx bits but only a fiver for a full set of them.
Haven’t ridden it in anger yet but it looks good!

Guess there’s a few ways it could be improved.. Are continuous sellers allowed? I know its not in the spirit of the forums in the first place but does it actually say in the rules it’s not allowed?
I usually check a sellers forum history before buying anything from them.. I think some sort of seller feedback could be easily implemented but it hasn’t seemed to happen over the years..
Other forums have post counts and member status beside every post which could also help but again, STW don’t seem to want to go down this route.
Wonder how long it will be till someone mentions “buyer beware” or “caveat empor” on this thread..
    Oh, Er..

Full sus is more fun IMO.. Went full sus about 8 yrs ago and stayed that way since. Before that rode a HT for about ten years and had lots of fun on that too.. See if you can try a decent one and make your own mind up- horses for courses and all that!
There will be lots of different opinions on here, part of what makes it such a good place.

Welcome. Almost everyone starts out on a hardtail. Full sus is more fun but nothing wrong with a good hardtail!
As you become more “skilled” you’ll find your speed increasing.. Full sussers do grip a bit better on bumpy climbs depending on setup i think, but some prefer hardtails for the more direct power delivery ehen pedalling uphill.. Again, there’s pluses and minuses to both types but the majority of folk (I’m guessing) on here prob ride full sus for a reason. It’s a bit comfier, it grips well on the ups, and is fun on the downs.
Nothing wrong with a HT though, ride it till it breaks, then consider upgrades.

    That.. that’s Birmingham. Great line.
Can only imagine how hard it’s been for all of you, glad things are looking up.

It’s hard going being a landlord, remember you pay tax on any profits as well. Can’t imaging having three folk involved will make it any easier either!
Whilst holding onto it for a few years (5-10 plus?) would probably see its value increase it would prob be hard going at times. If you’re pretty handy and can manage ongoing maintenance etc it might not be so bad.
I use a letting agency connected to my wife’s office so get a discount on management fees and get to keep it at a fairly decent arms length but if something goes wrong it’s me that has to sort it out..
Out of interest, you mention that it would prob need £15k of work, where will that be coming from then? All three owners or just you? If its just you then you need to get something legal written down that you’ll get your money back from the profits sold- but you prob already know that!
    Good luck whatever you decide!

Launched off the fun box at gt freeride recently and enjoyed that, nice sculpted landing though!
Have gone over the middle drop off higher up the hill but didn’t quite life my front enough the second time and nearly went otb.. Scared myself rotten. Never had the guts to do it again though!
Did Caddon bank at Inners after a few years away, did the third (big) drop at the top and was shaking afterwards when I stopped and turned to look at it.
Deffo getting less hung-ho than I was 5 or 10 years ago.. Maybe marriage, family and mortgage have calmed me down a bit.
Used to just ride over/off things without too much thought, tend to stop and size up stuff these days before deciding (not) to ride it full pelt!

I sawthe Salsa logo in the first coupla seconds and instantly thought- fat bikes! And I was right. Is that why druidh likes it??
In saying that though, it does look kinda cool, a much different vibe to the usual gnar-fest.. Think I’ll give it a watch.

As above, great of you like trains. Im not a major fan but like old stuff generally as well as engineering so it was quite good. The wife wasn’t that bothered but my 1.5 year old loved it- I can only image how long it would take to calm him down now hes a year older!
I liked walking under the steam engine from front to back and seeing the coal scoop mechanism so it didn’t need to stop.
Good stuff and not that expensive considering how big the place is..
