I’m not a big fan of the rear crud catcher looks wise. To allow for the rear travel on my 575 I need to mount it v high up on the seatpost- it worked a treat on my old hardtail cos it could be positioned just above the tyre stopping 90% of stuff being chucked up and forwards…
Got one of these that would normally mount on the brake bosses but as I don’t have any I need to try and bodge something..

Was Hoping to mount it in a style similar to some motorbike fenders I’ve seen- doesn’t cover the full top radius of the wheel but stops most of the crap going up/forwards..

I made a mucky nutz clone for the front from a 3 litre milk carton..
Just made a paper template, used that to draw round the carton and cut out. Its even the right shape to fit round the tyre.
In saying that- had it all summer and it’s getting tired- might just get the real thing and be done with it!
At the back would rather have something similarly made to the fender bender but that followed the profile of the tyre and could clip onto the stays.. Hmm.

Commentary is a good one- out loud to start with then in your head once you’ve got the hang of it.
A bright sticker on your stem cap is good too- if you’re looking far enough ahead it should just be at the bottom of your vision..

Pretty much in the same boat, one three year old, and a one week old. I work full time, wife will go back to work at some point within 6 to 9 months for three days a week. Nice but modest house for them to grow up in, a focus in the drive, and some great grandparents five minutes away who are fantastic and save us a fortune in child minding fees! Couldn’t do it without them.
Had three bikes in my mancave/garage, sold the old road bike (hardly used), the cobbled together hardtail built for the missus (also hardly used) and my enduro sworks frame to fund a new 575 frame a coupla years ago. Upgraded wheels, forks and a few other bits and bobs mostly out of Christmas and Birthday money. My birthday is nine days after the other so January sales are always scrutinised, as are the classifieds!
I don’t ride as much as I used to so happy with one bike, my family and my life. It’s all good, even if I don’t go away skiing every winter!!

There’s a nice wee route round the back of Loch Chon, round the back of Ben Lomond (I think) then pops out at Inversnaid.. Mostly LR track but some awesome scenery on the way and it’s a decent wee ride. Has a cracking descent on some very steep switchbacks down to the the Shore of Loch Lomond where it joins the WHW for a bit.

120 in an old cavalier sri130. Between Perth and Dundee.
Late for lectures and a fellow student gave us a lift. Was scary tbh (and stupid) but we made the lecture.
Done a lot of silly things in my life but have never ventured much over 110..I have enough metalwork in my legs already so motorbikes are not in the equation..

Used to stay in nurses residence at Murray Royal nigh on 20 years ago and had the odd cycle up Kinnoul Hill- might need to go for a wander about on the bike for old times sake!

Had it done a few years ago for a work charity thing..
Holy shit it hurt. The scene from 40 yr-old virgin kinda covers it.. Although myself and my colleague (both pretty hairy) had thewhiole lot done!
Remember leaning forward for days so my work shirts didn’t touch it.
Was also when I first became aware of my A-cup moobs that had been hiding under there- Jesus!
Oh aye, had to use a loofah on my chest in the bath for weeks afterwards to prevent in- growing hairs.

I hope STW has a decent insurance policy!
Might be needing a few decent locks and ground anchors after this.
Hope you get the thieving scum who did it.

Quite depressing all this, isn’t it? Someone asked- what’s the alternative?
I have to say- for me personally, up here in Scotland, it’s independence.
I know there’s a shitload of things still to be worked out, and it’s not gonna be cheap. But I am sick of successive Westminster governments shafting us up here, most notably the current Tory (I mean, coalition) one. We didn’t vote them in.. The south of England did – as they almost always will.
There’s no way the Uk electoral system is going to be reformed (or downsized/rationalised)- turkeys don’t vote for Christmas after all. So what’s the alternative?
Get the hell out and try and come up with a better system.
I realise this is a bit off topic, ive already stated my admiration for the job the police continue to do in the context of ever- more difficult circumstances.. But things aren’t going to get better with the next government- even if it’s a labour one.

Sounds very similar to life in the ambulance service.. Only with slightly reduced prospects of violence and less interviews/court attendance..
Can only take my hat off to the coppers and the job they do. A lot of us appreciate it, especially those of us in green.

+3 for smudge.. Great lights, good service and a nice guy to boot.
I did a lot of research when I bought his original light- modifications to improve the QC made it seem the better option rather than the similar dx ones at the time for a wee bit more..
Also liked the idea of having uk warranty and backup.

And forcing yourself to not sleep during the day after eventually falling asleep at 5 am!!
    In my experience anyway..

Hmm. Prob not insomnia, just a lot on my mind. Haven’t had a decent nights sleep since Tuesday night.
One (new) wean in hospital with mum, another here with me and likely to get up at spprox 5.30am give or take half an hour….. Joy.

Still remember being overtaken by a Lotus Carlton on the road up to Dundee about 20 years ago..
With the window down I swear I could hear all the pulleys and belts turning in between the turbo whistle and tyre noise!
    Sounded like the world ending!
Get what you want and have fun. As everyone else says you would regret not buying it, and we’re a long time dead.
