What are the council sayi g about after the games then? Sure the velodrome and sports venues will be looked after but I doubt this place will! Shame really.

I’ve ridden up there a few times (daytime and at night) and it does have some great potential, the plus points noted above are true. But then so are the downsides..
If its going to be a mini trail centre after the games it’s going to need round the clock patrols.
When I was up there I saw plenty of folks sitting about in the woods drinking- plus all the other stuff that prob goes on. It didnt bother me, but I’m sure there will be a ton of folk put off by it. Plus the comments about quads and scramblers is very valid- the place will get torn up rapid style unless there’s security onside 24/7.

I’ve only ever seen stuff like this when it’s a big VIP (ie PM, FM ETC) up here in Glasgow and it’s been a motorcade type scenario with outriders- was on the 5th floor of our office and heard them coming from about half a mile away- very very impressive watching them scythe their way through about 8 or 9 junctions..
The boys/girls on the bikes were doing a hell of a speed to catch up then overlap the 5 or 6 motors in the middle. Bonkers.
Anyways, comments like- it’s London, it happens etc.. Fine. But the copper was still an asshat pulling across like that, cp or not cp..

Cable car museum is good apparently but I didn’t manage. Coit tower (aka the firehose or something – Ooer) has cracking views.. Hired a bike, cycled Past the Presido, over the bridge, first left yhan a good (but busy) road climb up to the top of Hawk hill etc.. Stunning views of the bridge/bay area! There’s old forts, gun emplacements and a tunnel through part of the hill with what I’m guessing was an ammo store about the halfway point..

As sad as it is I was brought up on a diet of cold war spy stories, Tom Clancy and others.

I used to be right into planes and stuff in my early teens during the mid 80s..
I remember reading a rather long article about the Harriers.. If it all kicked off but stayed conventional it was basically going to be a giant tank battle in central Europe. The Harrier was to be utilised in a close support role operating in small units of two or three planes dispersed out to forrest clearings, autobahn underpasses and the like to escape detection and aid survival rates.. They also planned on using them in the UK should the Ruskis manage to invade us in order to fight a campaign of resistance.. I seem to recall them operating from large supermarkets that had had the fascias removed so they could take off and land in the car parks but hide from reconnaissance within the building itself..

Yep, square stays here too. Will prob get bigger ones with a plastic coating, then mould/bend them to the shape of the stays. Might need to use a couple and some sort of spacer to get the guard sitting correctly too!

Podge- sorry to be a pita but where can these p clips be bought- screw fix or somewhere similar?
I have the decathlon mudguard but no canti bosses so am trying to bodge something to make it fit to the stays..
Edit- Belay that mate, just actually googled it and makes perfect sense- never realised that’s what those are!
Now to find some big enough to be shaped around my 575 stays..

Our wee boy got out of SCBU last week after a week in. Induced at 37 wks cos of my wife’s bp probs..
Low blood sugars, a bit wee, couldn’t suck, and a bit cold. Staff were amazing, really good with us. Did an amazing job and wee Daniel’s been home for a week and doing well.
