Agree with the above- a 2Ib saving will feel maxing, esp at the wheels.. Saved just over a pound on my new wheels I got and was instantly noticeable.
I’d say that’s your first thing to look at, after that, seatpost, stem, grips and saddle.,

Just went with crc- xt cassette, xt clutch mech and got an ultergra chain from Evans price matched to crc.
Oh aye, got a pair of slx 10 spd shifters after the PSA for £16..
Total cost about £130 for shifters, clutch mech, cassette and chain- not too bad really!

Wife went this morning for the first time ever. Was bonkers apparently- 2 car parks at the fort full, no lights on at all so pitch dark. She did get a fair few bits and bobs for the weans though which was the main reason she went.
Think the next stuff lasts well which is good when its a mad three year old we have!
Not my cup of tea- do my sale shopping online these days, even then not really bothered about clothes and stuff.. Bike bits are another matter though!

I got a very basic one- £10 from b and m I think- two blades but no tail rotor- have managed to get it to hover, and fly round (anti-clockwise only) in a circle.. It’s a good laugh for 3 to 4 minutes!

Lost a good mate at work this year- chatting with his mum a few day ago..
I feel bad but can only imagine how his family and wife feel.

Right now seems fine to me!

Patio is on the list for spring but need to sort out the neighbours drainage first- washed away the last attempt at sand and cement between the slabs- weeded it a few months ago but as its not exactly been BBQ weather couldn’t be bothered doing it again..
Take on board comments about regs- was just thinking it would be a good wee addition to the house.
Shower room/wc there if we use it as a guest room or for use after muddy rides on the bike.

Stay away from Kwik fit. Blackcircles and camskill can arrange fitting (usually at a local Indy tyre place) for you and I think would be prob be cheaper..
Have a look and let us know how you get on!

Lose a bit of weight, get out on the bike much more, spend more time with my family, get the bloody essays done.
Not sure if they’re mutually exclusive though!

Just out of curiosity… If I was to rebuild this-

Double length garage, Mayr a coupla feet wider, slightly taller, and pref with a double thickness walls so the back half is habitable.. How cheaply could it be done?
Prob talking 5 years in the future at least but would love to do something similar to footflaps. Front half garage, back half like a wee guest flat- sleeping mezzanine, poss a wee shower room…
What does the collective think? I’m pretty handy and my neighbour is a well regarded builder..

As above! Should be able to isolate it from the main box but deffo best getting someone in for that..

We had shite autogrip tyres on our 10 plate focus, under steered if it looked at a damp corner never mind tried to negotiate it! Stuck on some decent tyres and its been transformed- I am often surprised by how well the car grips when going round the same bends!

2×10 on my 575 and hoping to ride it a lot more!
Oh aye, sorting the hose routing on my new reverb too- not much compared to the above posts!

Our current 1.6 petrol focus hatch costs £120 a month. Was high milage (50k plus on a 10 plate) when we got it but included is servicing/mot and warranty for 2 yrs- should cover anything major..
    Can’t go wrong with that.

Happy with my 1.6 petrol but sometimes wish we had got something a bit pokier- 1.8 Tdi would have been fine..

Will work multiple times- someone posted one in the classifieds last night promting me to order a new mech and cassette!

Tried a golf when we were looking to replace our focus but wasn’t impressed with the handling, I also felt like it wasn’t the best for space inside.
Ended up buying a newer focus. Handles better, slightly cheaper and feels like there more room in it.

After the bargain slx 10speed shifters a week or so ago I’ve just pressed the button on a 10 speed xt cassette and rear clutch mech, for the total price of £95..including a cheeky 10% off code in the classifieds.. I always get money for my birthday anyway so it’s paying for the upgrades.. Can’t wait for my birthday 2weeks from now!

Looked at the marsh guard.. Blatant rip off,
“As a bonus, it’s made from recycled materials and can be recycled itself”- Pah!
What a crock. I made my own from a 3l milk carton as the shape was already curved but like I said above- will be getting a real one soon. The milk carton version is good but is a thinner plastic and one you get any debris stuck in it it creases easily and it’s harder to get its shape back.
    Bender fender ftw!

No mud does it for me at the back on my 575, bender fender clone made from a milk carton at the front.
Just gonna splurge and get the real thing.,

    Bothy bikes! Sorry.
    Druidh has the right answer..
See the other Aviemore thread, there’s some good stuff on that too.

I’ve done a wee bit over New Years a few times.. Just depends on how bad the snow is really.. Did a route one year that climbed up onto a biggish hill just south of Aviemore then onto a military rd. was many years ago so not much help!
I’ve heard the folks at off- beat bikes are very helpful!
