I had one- wasn’t silent but one the chain is lubed and some it transferred its fine.
Didn’t notice any major noise when I was riding with it..

As above, got some merino thickys and for the money, they’re pretty good.
I’d recommend them.

Not quite as seasoned a camper as you but starting the same journey next week with my three year old.
Will prob start out in the back garden the first time, if that goes ok will progress to the Campsies for a night, then start thinking about further afield…
Prob going to just use an inflatable double mattress for us both or poss just for him! Got him a decent sleeping bag. Bedtime-wise not sure, thinking about keeping the normal bedtime routine but not sure if it will be possible due to excitement! Him, not me.

Got 3 pairs of the thickies- no where near as thick as a walking sock. Almost thinner than a cotton sports sock really.
But very warm for all that and a bargain to boot- groan.

JFK library pretty decent distance from the finish line area if I remember rightly- just hope there’s no more in other areas.
As said above, it’s a lovely wee quiet, compact city. Said it already but just a horrible, horrible thing to happen.

Got to shout up for Hopes- have had tech m4s for almost 3 years on my 575 and they’ve been trouble free.
Still got great bite and plenty of stopping power.
I had heard of issues with hopes squealing and other stuff but was assured by the Evans mechanic that if the mounts were faced and the brakes set up properly they’d be trouble free. And that’s what they’ve been!
Edit- could prob do with a bleed I suppose but still feel great so haven’t bothered yet!

I just removed the big ring, fitted a bash ring and a stinger, then shortened the chain slightly and fitted a blackspire stinger to keep it taut. You can adjust the limit screws on the front mech to avoid it going too far onto what was the big ring..
