Was a bit of a lurker back in the day but recently realised I’ve still been paying an annual subs so have wandered back in a bit more often. Was going to ask if TJ ever started advocated helmet-wearing in any context but I see he was banned. Oh well.

Summerlee is good. Plenty of big engines/machines, a couple of decent static steam engines,a short tram ride, mineworks you can go down into, miners cottages from different decades (you’ll like them too), decent swingpark and a section of the old coatbridge canal with a lovely boat called Vulcan thats been restored although not sure if you can go on it to look..Coatbridge central station literally 5 minutes walk away too..
If your boy likes cars and trains the transport museum is good- keeps my two younger boys happily amused but they love Summerlee too..

Yup. Have actually done a few weeks training this year. That coupled with my resolution not to get hammered the night before again means I might manage more than 1.25 laps…also part of a quad.

Its good but in a homage kind of way..
Very good production values, lots of similar stuff but enough different to keep you interested.
The slackline was a highlight for me, as was the single-foot pedalled railing.
Just shows you that even hipsters have skills.

We had a ten plate petrol focus- we were lokkjng to replace and I quite fancied the cmax. We were looking at a two year old cmax so not the newest shape. I quite fancied it due to the rear seat flexibility (normal 5 seater) and the fact that we knew the boot in the new focus was slightly smaller. Got 2 young boys so a lot of gear to cart about in general never mind the big holiday drives. I quite fancied the cmax, the wife wasnt having it at all (said its a granny-mobile) so ended up with a newer focus diesel. Power band is a bit narrower and takes some getting used to but miles better mpg and pulls well although boot even smaller than we feared with a full suze spare. Think next car in a few years will be a decent sized estate or s-max..

was 14 years ago so was a lot younger and fitter when I did this- was 6 months till back doing light runs and on the bike and about 9 till I was properly fit again. Then three months after that did something similar to my left ankle..

That or gaffa tape- although it will leave residue on your bars..
Does the maker of them not sell spares? Go onto roofbox.co.uk if not.
Come to think of it why havent you got the rubber strips if theyre new?

Sending some positive thoughts your way. Speak to your mrs, speak to your mates, speak to your GP, speak to us on here. Sounds like a horrid time for you all. You will get through it but you might not feel that way just now. Hang in there and if you’re struggling get some help.

Had some painkillers and ice ready at home but my lift home was 45 min late. Never so glad to get home and lie down.
Was a tiny bit sore when the anasthetic went in and apparently they had to rummage around a bit to do no 2 but just felt like I’d been properly booted in each of the baws for 5 days, then eased off. Back playing fives 2 weeks after although i bought a protective cup from Decathlon and im glad I did as the boys were rattled by the ball. Was a bit tender for 5 mins but otherwise fine. Best £8 insurance policy there is!

Ob- was referring to the whole of the the Uk as the discussion was in the context of the union at that point.
Mind you, with most of the nhs in England being privatised, I mean, opened to market forces, the likelyhood is that nhs spending in England will drop, leading to a corresponding cut in the barnett grant relating to health.
People talk about the uncertainty of independence (of which there is a lot) but what about the uncerrainty of further austerity cuts, Eu referendums etc..?

    althepal

I have to say thm.. I disagree that the union has been so sucessful- for a reasonably small minority its been very sucessful yes, but ask folk up and down the country who have had their benefits cut or rely on the Nhs or are having to rely on foodbanks.. I’m not so sure they would agree.

Its all getting a bit snidey folks eh? I’ve mostly enjoyed reading through all this, apart from the personal comments..
Someone above commented about the CBI being biased- of course they are. They see the status quo as being best because independence would inevitably hit profits- whether its market uncertainty, currency issues or the prospect of an IS passing more protections for workers all of these can potentially affect profits so obviously they, and others will be happy to piss on the parade.
Business is business though, and no matter what happens profits will still be there to be made.
