I so I haven’t necessarily physically seen all of these,

i doubt very much that you have seen Water Rail,Cattle Egret,or Curlew, for a start, in your garden. Theyre pretty hard to see anywhere

UK opted out of the EU clean water regulations, so now we have our own water quality rules, but no one knows what they are. So now we might have much better minimum rivers and lakes quality water than permitted in EU (tap water too?).
    Or maybe worse

I got this all working fine with the 5100 mech. It helps immensely if the cable is connected on the right side of the bolt
I may fine tune the chainline with bb spacers but im really pleased that it all works

earthballs- look like small puffballs, btu often more brown and/or scaly.
Break them open and theya re black inside. Real puffballs are white all the way through, turning brown when they get too old.
A good place to start is to know all the poisonous ones before you pick any,and leave them if youre not sure.
Some people react differently so just eat a little the first time,,and others may make you sick if youre drinking

usually if i reply, noone else bothers to comment, so i try not to spoil the threads anymore
On the other hand, i dont have lots of wisdom to add and try to put it in a form that people can relate to, consequently it never looks good so i dont bother that often

t never ceases to amaze me how slowly people amble through life.

If you ever get to chiang mai, thailand, the Sunday Market shopping street is one of those places where yo’ll lose all hope, as the shoppers move from stall to stall,at snail’s pace, in one impenetrable mass, like a packed concert where youll never get through to the front. A 2 minute walk takes at least an hour

What’s the best app for identifying stuff?

I just installed Mushroom Identify and Picture Mushroom as theyre the most rated on Play, but the ones Ive seen others use work pretty well, although there is often some confusion with similar looking ones that may be deadly, and they may use american names etc.
Just because a mushroom is edible in uk, doesnt mean that the same ones you see in other parts of the world wont kill you

being awake, and people that expext you to act like youve slept in a week
Also doctors that wont give you sleeping pills, the non addictive ones, in case you get addicted, or because they make other people go sleep-driving/shopping

i wouldnt say that. A lot Ive seen have appeared stunted,(apart from chicken of the woods which have a really good turnout) due to the dry conditions. Thats in northants .
Although i was in gwydir forest a month ago and saw more biggerer mushrooms than i have before, specially chanterelles and boletus, though ive never been there before
The season seems late this year

none here in northants, but last week or so zillions of tiny white flies, midge size, and just float around in the air like ash
Never seen them before, and theyre not as itchy as mozzies, but you cant go outside for 5 minutes without lond sleeves on. I havent seen them actually bite, but theyre most irritating

i wanted to know some irish history for a long time.It was never taught to us at school in the 60s and 70s, and only ever heard one side of things.Never knew any irish
I didnt find out im part irish until my late twenties

Were some Irish were sold as slaves,in the west indies? I read about it once

last time i remember was New Years Eve 1988, I hitched form cambridge to scotland in 6hours, for hogmanay with the family.
I saw the bus full of VIPs going to Lockerbie after the bombing
Id always give a lift to hitchers if i had a car, I know too well how it is to be stuck for hours, or overniht, at Knutsford etc
I can vaguely remember getting a lift in the back of a van with goats or something in, indonesia maybe

These tiny white flies, like midges, that appeared last week, millions of them, you cant go outside for 5 minutes without itching

    yes

Back the low limit screw off and see if you get the 9th click.

I tried this, its just the same
I dont see anythin really relating to M5120 on shimano site

Since i had almost the same problem with the sunrace 46T/goatlink/XT m786 derailleur, maybe i should buy a new shifter anyway

Yes, the chips in holland were lovely, with the mayo, but even better with pindasaus
And 2023 would be such a washout, had it not been for the prolonged dry spells which prevent the mushrooms growin beyond pygmy proportions
Also Im in the middle of doing something mildly important, so Im watching this thread instead/in anger
Possibly because so many things I try to do have failed miserably that I no longer have the faith to try anything

i shouldve said,if i click it until 8th gear, its level with the biggest cog and wont click anymore
As above m5100 has no logical explanation for not being 10speed compatible, despite not being on the above chart

Is it possible that my m610 shifter is b******d and will slip 2 gears under tension?

This has become purely another exercise in frustration

    alric
    Free Member

so i have the m5100 rear mech, but only can find 8 gears
Its the 10speed M610 shifter, is the cable pull the same as the M6000?

I get 10 shifter gears/clicks with the cable undone, but connected the derailleur moves the correct distance from 1-10, but only 8 clicks. So I lost 2 gears somewhere

I havent put the chain on yet

the book is well out of date but still many facts you wondered about, lets hope they are still here for the next generations to see.

i couldnt answer that one so…couldnt find the answer anywhere

So the 11-46 etc came out as an aftermarket option, never really worked well, but then shimano made their own one with a suitable new derailleur, but never told anyone?

thats exactly what i did. Couldnt get the m5120 with clutch for that price, so crossed fingers and ordered the 5100
